Support for Children with Special Needs & Disability

Join a volunteer program abroad that aims to equip individuals with intellectual disabilities with the attitudes and vocational skills to make them functional and employable. The placement is at a life community school, a boarding facility in Ghana for the intellectually challenged. Most of the children here have families who neglected them because of their disabilities. The government runs the center, while the day-to-day activities are left to kind-hearted individuals and groups. With just five teachers and two House Mothers who manage 74 kids, they find it hard to monitor and give each child attention as well as quality, three square meals every day.
