Frequently Asked Questions
Is SIE a recruitment agency or a school?
SIE is a Professional Educational Employer. Unlike a standard recruitment agency that disappears after you are hired, SIE is your legal employer throughout your entire contract. We handle your Z-visa sponsorship, salary payments, and social insurance, while you are placed at one of our 200+ prestigious partner schools. This model provides you with a unique "Safety Net"—if your school placement is not a perfect fit, we facilitate a transfer to ano
Will I be teaching legally on a proper work visa?
Absolutely. Legal compliance is our baseline. SIE and our partner schools are fully certified by the Foreign Expert Bureau. We guide you through the entire Z-visa application process, handle all document translations, and ensure that your Work-Type Residence Permit is fully secured before you begin teaching. We have successfully sponsored over 5,000 teachers since 2013.
What kind of support will I receive when I first arrive in China?
We provide comprehensive on-the-ground support to ensure a "soft landing." Upon arrival, you will be met by our team or provided with detailed navigation to a pre-paid hotel. During your first 48 hours, a dedicated SIE staff member will accompany you to:
Complete your mandatory medical check.
Obtain a local Chinese SIM card.
Open a Chinese bank account for your salary.
Register with the local police station.
Do I receive training before I start teaching?
Yes. One of SIE’s core strengths is our Academic Academy. We provide intensive 1-on-1 interview preparation and demo lesson workshops before you even meet a school principal. Once you are placed, we offer ongoing classroom mentorship and professional development (such as iPGCE support) to help you grow from a newcomer to a master educator.
I’ve seen mixed reviews online. What is the truth?
The China ESL market is large and competitive, and anonymous forums often highlight one-sided experiences. We encourage you to look at the verified facts: our 70% contract renewal rate and our 13-year track record. We are a learning organization that values feedback, and we invite you to speak directly with our long-term teachers to hear about the real support and stability that define the SIE experience.
