The Sibuya Wilderness Experience welcomes participants from all walks of life. Volunteers, adventure-seeking travelers, gap year students, adults taking work sabbaticals... Anyone with a passion for nature conservation. This is the perfect Eco Volunteer Program if you are looking for a meaningful travel opportunity abroad that puts your passion for nature, environment, and wildlife to good use, trying to make a difference. Our unique itinerary runs on a two-week program, wherein the content is only covered twice in a month, making a four-week stay the perfect getaway to experience everything at least twice. Nowhere else in South Africa is a volunteer itinerary this diverse.
Program Highlights
Take part in the daily activities on Sibuya Private Game Reserve, a luxurious big five reserve.
Explore South Africa's most popular elephant reserve and the third largest wildlife reserve in the country, Addo Elephant National Park.
Go on a two-day hike and explore marine wildlife along the highest coastal sand dunes in the southern hemisphere, Alexandria Dune Fields.
Stay in Intaka Lodge, our accommodation nestled right in the heart of a unique birding paradise.
Enjoy a river cruise, with ORI fish tagging as a highlight, along the prestigious Kariega River that opens up to the barefoot capital of South Africa.

A once in a lifetime experience!!
by: Camille Bergström - SwitzerlandProgram: Nature and Coastal Wilderness Conservation in SibuyaI had the pleasure to volunteer at Sibuya for three weeks last november and I had the time of my life, a truly unforgettable experience I will treasure forever! It was the first time I travelled abroad on my own and I'm not going to lie, it was a bit overwhelming at first. But the team at Sibuya were so helpful throughout every step of the process and my entire stay there. The program was amazing with a large variety of activities with a great focus on wildlife conservation, community engagement and also discovering the beautiful region around Kenton-on-Sea. We were lucky enough to see wildlife everyday and experience the behind the scene with the rangers on a daily basis. For me, the people we had the chance to spend our time there with were a big part of our experience. Their knowledge about wildlife and passion for their work really is an inspiration and I thank them for their dedication and what they've shown us. Through this experience, I have gained more awareness about our biodiversity and the challenges it faces today, I have learned about a new culture and beautiful South Africa, and all that with amazing people that I get to call friends today! Trust me, this is the trip you were waiting for!
Life changing experience
by: Katelynn Kreider - United StatesProgram: Nature and Coastal Wilderness Conservation in SibuyaI recently did the volunteer program for 4 weeks, it is a really great opportunity for anyone that is wanting to start a career working with wildlife or conservation. They don’t require any experience, so there is no need to feel nervous about applying. When you leave the program you will have acquired so much knowledge with the help of your guide, Luke. He is very knowledgeable of the area and patient with learners. When I went, I met so many extremely nice people whom I still keep in touch with today. So not only can you find your pathway in life, but you may also have life changing experiences and lifelong relationships. I highly recommend this program.
