Add first reviewVerified

Take part in a medical internship in Namibia and contribute to the United Nations' sustainable development goal of access to healthcare for all. Immerse yourself in the local community, discovering the rich culture and working with healthcare professionals. You will gain real hands-on experience, valuable skills, and a more global perspective. Gain university credits as well as experience in the healthcare field. You will be working in a small rural clinic in eastern Namibia, providing support to the local medical team. You could be doing anything, from consultations to administrative tasks, taking on tasks that correspond to your level of expertise. These may include first aid, examinations, weighing and monitoring babies, assisting in the pharmacy, supporting drug users moving towards sobriety, visiting the community, and organizing healthcare awareness initiatives. The clinic is a crucial part of the community. Many of the patients are children, 70% of whom are under 5 years old. Many of the issues they face are infections that can become severe if left untreated. Tuberculosis and AIDs are also prevalent within the community.
