Program Overview

Join a medical internship in Argentina and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goal of health and well-being for all. Gain real experience and learn about another country's healthcare system, all while supporting the welfare of people from local communities. Step outside your comfort zone, broaden your perspectives, improve your Spanish, and immerse yourself in Argentine culture.

Placements are available in a clinic and a hospital. The clinic has a bed capacity of 100 patients and various departments: long-term and short-term hospitalization, intensive care, and coronary care. The hospital has an oncology department, a kidney dialysis unit, a delivery room, a neonatology department, a laboratory, and medical imaging.

As an intern, you rotate in different departments weekly to experience varied medical situations. A workday in the clinic lasts 5 – 7 hours, and your tasks vary depending on factors such as personality, skills, experience, and level of Spanish. You can take Spanish classes for a week before the internship.

You can stay with a host family, where you can practice your Spanish even more!

New perspective

This internship gave me an opening to the world and a new perspective on our life in France. It also allowed me to refocus on myself, gain more confidence, enrich myself intellectually, and learn the adaptability and autonomy that this requires in my work and in my daily life. The travels, the landscapes, and the encounters! I had the opportunity to travel alone but also with other foreign and Argentinian students, to exchange perspectives and experiences in their countries and in Argentina. I saw incredible landscapes too! The accommodation was awesome! The family was really great and always very helpful and loving. The meals were very good too! This project was unforgetable.
