Founded in 1992, Projects Abroad is now one of the largest volunteer organizations in the world. Each year, we send 10,000 volunteers to 30 various developing countries around the world. As part of the 2-Week High School Special program, the Medicine project in Peru is an opportunity for volunteers to observe the medical profession first hand. Volunteers will observe different procedures and attend medical workshops. Medical outreach programs are also available to educate communities about health and provide medical care. This program includes a weekend trip to Machu Picchu and the artisan markets.
