Omni Med Uganda

Founded in 1994 in the United States, we at Omni Med have spent over 30 years working to improve global health through collaboration, training, and shared learning. Our journey began with the vision of supporting underserved communities while offering meaningful global health experiences for medical professionals and students. Today, our focus is on community health in Uganda, where we partner with the Ministry of Health to train Village Health Teams—local volunteers who deliver essential care, promote health education, and gather data to strengthen the public health system.

Our work is grounded in equity, partnership, and respect. We don’t see ourselves as saviors, but as supporters of Ugandan-led efforts. Through our programs, participants from U.S. institutions learn from and alongside Ugandan health workers, contributing to sustainable solutions and ethical global health practice. Our goal is mutual growth: improving healthcare in Ugandan communities while shaping future health professionals with a deeper understanding of global health.
