Teaching in Primary or Junior High Schools in Ghana

by: Our Generation Voluntary Organisation

Add first reviewSince 2004

Volunteer in Ghana with Our Generation Voluntary Organisation and help teach English and other subjects, such as Mathematics, ICT, and Science, to children in primary or junior high schools. Volunteers mainly teach children in various villages. Although English is the official language of Ghana, children rarely get to learn from non-Ghanaian speakers of the language. Classes are usually in five sessions per week, with volunteers asking for five hours to teach in all the five days of the week. Volunteers are allowed to bring their teaching aids such as picture books, flash cards, art supplies, and instruments. No qualification is required but volunteers must attain the legal growing age of 16 years and above and must have an open mind and flexible attitude for working in a different environment. Volunteers must be vigorous and inspired in the various lives of Ghanaian children.
