Mental Health & Psychiatric Internship

by: Our Generation Voluntary Organisation

Add first reviewSince 2004

Whether you're undertaking an elective placement in Africa or are a trained professional, this unique experience offers a deeper understanding and awareness of the mental health care system. Observe firsthand the challenges hospitals face during clinic and ward rounds, and regularly participate in community outreach and home visit projects. This mental health and psychiatric internship is exclusively available to individuals currently studying a mental health or psychology-related degree at a university or to fully qualified professionals. By observing and shadowing mental health teams, you'll gain real insight into the challenges faced and the stark contrasts in how a developing country treats its patients. This internship allows participants to understand how psychiatric services operate in Ghana.
