Medical School Elective in Ghana through OGVO

Are you a medical student? Take part in this highly enriching program in Ghana, where you will gain invaluable medical knowledge and experience from a global perspective. Our placements will be in hospitals, which have spent years supporting students on their Medical Electives. Your time abroad will provide an excellent foundation for strengthening your medical skills , as well as learning new ones. There is a high likely you will encounter conditions that seem to occur daily, such as malaria and typhoid, you wouldn't typically see in North America and Europe. The entire experience will be challenging, but will also offer you numerous rewarding experiences. During the program, you will have the option to work at a large hospital in a city or in a more rural setting. Shadow one of our supervisors who all speak English and are very experienced at working with western medical and healthcare students. They will test your medical knowledge, as well as share their training and experience. When you arrive at the hospital, an OGVO coordinator and a placement supervisor will discuss with you the work schedule. You will also join in regular medical outreach work.
