Care & Community Program for Groups of Teenagers
Program Overview
Volunteers can have a positive impact by caring for children in local schools or orphanages. You can give back by playing games and arranging activities, as well as contributing to the community by renovating and decorating schools and centers.
OGVO’s Care & Community Projects in Ghana are based in and around Kumasi, in the Ashanti region, as well as in other regions across the country. For two weeks, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in other people’s lives and your own. You will learn about another culture as you explore and get to know different areas of Ghana. You will be hosted by a family, which allows you to become fully immersed in the Ghanaian way of life.
Volunteers will spend their time working in an orphanage or a local school. Your time will be divided between renovating and decorating the building for half the day and playing with and caring for the children for the other half of the day. By putting in a new floor or painting a mural on a neglected wall, you will be making a meaningful and lasting contribution to the placement.
