Frequently Asked Questions
I am an international student – what do I need to know?
Planning a trip to South Africa can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re travelling from abroad, but you’re not alone. Reach out to us, and we’ll happily help you with everything you need, including study or tourist visas, finances, medical aid, required documents, and staying connected once you arrive.
We’re here to support you every step of the way and are always available to answer any questions you may have.
When do the courses start?
The Bushcraft Course is offered annually during the following months: January, March, May, July, September, October, and November.
For specific course dates within these months, please feel free to reach out, our team will gladly provide the schedule and assist with planning your experience.
What does the daily routine look like?
We schedule two 3.5-hour activities per day (game drive or bush-walk AM/PM). The bush is your classroom, and you will never stop learning in this amazing environment. In between activities there is time for meals, lectures, self-study and leisure.
Is there any age limit for the courses?
Ideally, students should be 18 years or older to enrol in the Career Course, as a driver’s licence is preferred although not required. There is no upper age limit, however it’s important to note that some activities, particularly during the Trails module, require a reasonable level of physical fitness.
Students should be comfortable walking for up to six hours during the Trails module.
What food will be provided during the course?
We provide three full meals a day – nutritious, healthy and tasty. We try our best to cater for dietary requirements – but please keep in mind that we are located in a remote bush camp and have to purchase according to a set menu plan. For serious dietary requirements there is also the option for you to get special groceries/supplements on your town trips.
