Get professional experience and qualify for university credit through our Medical Internships in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru. Whether you're getting ready to apply to medical school or are looking to expand your medical school knowledge, partnering with a local doctor at a hospital, clinic, or private practice in a foreign country will open your eyes to a world of medicine you may not otherwise experience. Through shadowing and providing daily assistance to a doctor in patient consultations and treatment, you can expect to leave with a better understanding of patient care and foreign healthcare systems. Nursing and Physical therapy placements are also available. Dental internship placements are available on a limited basis. There are 2 options for medical placements: - 4-Week "Practicum" - 8-Week "Internship" Additional time for your internship can always be added. Medical programs require interns to have an intermediate level of Spanish at a minimum. If your Spanish is not at the required level (based on interview), you will need to complete up to 80 hours of online or on-site Spanish classes with a qualified Maximo Nivel instructor prior to the start of your internship.
