My volunteer placement was extremely insightful. Not only were the children learning from me, I was learning Spanish from them aswell. It was quite challenging, since i spoke very little spanish but everyone was so kind and helpful as long as you communicated your needs. I love that i got to live with a host family, it helped me immerse myself in a different culture and it was truly a great experience. There is also a travel agency in-house so we got to go on a few different excursions and meet other volunteers.

What a life-changing experience! I had the absolute best time, and met some of the kindest, most genuine people. I learned so much, and grew in a way I never expected. Maximo Nivel truly made this experience possible. They were there every step of the way, and were a constant support. Costa Rica, I’m gonna miss you!

When i first got here I was very nervous, but as time went on i realized that i was very safe with maximo. My placement was very fun and i learned a lot about animal care. I would 100% come back and try to do something like this again.
