Maximo Nivel’s Education Internships in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru offer an incomparable student-teaching experience, as well as meaningful intercultural learning that helps prepare teachers for the demands of the modern classroom.
Placements are usually in English-speaking classrooms at private or public schools. You will work alongside professional teachers to design lesson plans, manage active classrooms, and assess student development.
As an education intern, you may choose from early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school placements. Note that ESL-specific internships are also available.
Maximo Nivel’s Education Internship is a credit-bearing program. You can earn and easily transfer academic credits through our official School of Record.

I had a great experience during my 6 week internship at a school in Guatemala. Máximo Nivel were very helpful answering all my questions before I arrived and there was constant support during my time away. I learnt so much from my internship and very happy to have improved my spanish with daily classes with the wonderful Margarita! I am so pleased to have met so many lovely people at the school and from my host family.
The Maximo Nivel staff made accommodations for every one of my requests. Even if it was a change or complaint, they were there to help with a smile. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone traveling to Cusco, especially because of the fact that they are very well known in the city.
Maximo Nivel provided me with the chance to explore a beautiful part of the world. Costa Rica has changed my life in more ways than I could have ever imaged, I now understand more about different cultures and the importance of giving back to the world. I loved every single minute of my time with Maximo and with my internship, I learned about my personal interests with Education because of the care that Maximo gave.
