Social Media, Marketing and Outreach Internship
Program Overview
Looking for a marketing internship abroad where you'll actually own the work — not make coffee and watch from the sidelines? At Luderitz Blue School, Southern Namibia's only international Cambridge IGCSE school, you'll manage real channels, run real campaigns, and tell the story of a school doing something genuinely extraordinary.
We are a proud IOC-UNESCO Blue School — embedding ocean literacy and environmental education into everything we do. From award-nominated curricula to Ocean Days, kelp forests, and a coastal community that punches well above its weight, you will never run out of compelling content.
You'll handle social media, produce marketing materials, run outreach campaigns to schools and sponsors, and support grant applications that keep this school thriving. It's a varied, creative role with real scope — perfect for a marketing graduate building their portfolio, an experienced communications professional, or anyone with a flair for storytelling and the drive to put it to use.
Live and work where the Namib Desert meets the South Atlantic. The content practically creates itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to all the most common questions about Luderitz Blue School.
What will I do as a Social Media & Marketing Intern ?
You'll manage the school's social media channels, produce marketing and outreach materials, run campaigns, and contact partner schools and sponsors on our behalf. You may also support grant applications. It's a genuinely varied communications role with creative freedom and real responsibility — and a school with a remarkable story means there's no shortage of compelling material to work with.
Where will I be staying in Luderitz?
Accommodation is provided in one of Luderitz's historic buildings — a boarding house or guesthouse — all within walking distance of school. Expect a close community atmosphere, and stunning views of the South Atlantic coast.
Is Luderitz safe for international interns?
Namibia is one of the safest countries in Africa, and Luderitz is one of its safest towns — a small, close-knit community with very low crime. There is no malaria or tropical disease risk, and the South Atlantic keeps the climate mild year-round: never too hot, never too cold.
What will I do in my free time in Luderitz?
Luderitz is a nature-lover's dream — flamingos, springbok, oryx, and the elusive brown hyena on your doorstep. Visit the ghost town of Kolmanskop, take a boat trip to Shearwater Bay's kelp forest, or brave the (cold) South Atlantic. Enjoy camping, hiking, braais with colleagues, or a night out at the local bars. During school breaks, many interns road trip through the Namib. There is nowhere else like it on Earth.
Who is eligible for this marketing internship in Namibia?
Open to adults of any age and all nationalities. Ideal for marketing, communications, or media graduates building a portfolio, experienced professionals seeking a meaningful career break, or creative individuals with strong storytelling instincts. No formal marketing qualification is required — initiative, creativity, and a genuine interest in education and environment are what we're looking for.
