Educational Support for Refugees in Turkey

This program is for compassionate volunteers who wish to provide valuable assistance in the refugee crisis in Turkey.

Violence and conflict never cease to end in the world, forcing millions of people to run from their countries. They have suffered greatly as a result of violence and fear, and millions of refugees have been flooding into Turkey since 2011 to escape the ravages of a long and tragic civil war. Fleeing with nothing, they require all of the bare necessities. Many refugees also have difficulty integrating into Turkish society, suffering alienation and grief.

Strict rules exist around international volunteers working directly in refugee camps. Thus, our wonderful local partner has arranged for participants to work in local schools instead. Working with refugee students is a hugely rewarding experience and a real eye-opener for any international volunteer. Based in the magnificent ancient Turkish city of Istanbul, a cultural heartland and bustling metropolis, participants have the unique opportunity to experience all that this location has to offer while working to empower people to create a better life for their families.
