The Field Station Experience
Step into the heart of the Peruvian Amazon with the Los Amigos Volunteer Program, an immersive experience at one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Volunteers join a vibrant conservation community, gaining hands-on skills while contributing to meaningful science. Activities range from wildlife monitoring—monkey surveys, bird counts, reptile transects—to supporting conservation science through insect collection, camera trap analysis, and bioacoustic libraries. You’ll also assist with station operations, reforestation, and research support, while engaging in community outreach and species discovery. Located within a 150,000-ha protected area, Los Amigos offers access to diverse habitats, cutting-edge conservation technology, and mentorship from experienced scientists. Benefits include training in ecology, networking opportunities, and unrestricted access to trails, oxbow lakes, and a sunset viewpoint. With comfortable accommodations, meals, and high-speed WiFi, you’ll live and learn in the Amazon while actively supporting conservation. Join us at Los Amigos Field Station and be on the front line of protecting one of the planet’s most vital ecosystems.
