Program Overview

We invite volunteers to join our Sustainable Community Farm & Creative Gardening Program in Kisumu County, Western Kenya. This small demonstration farm teaches practical, climate-smart gardening techniques that help local families grow vegetables even with limited land.

Volunteers support light farm work such as watering plants, planting seedlings, preparing garden beds, composting, and maintaining vegetable plots. A unique part of the project involves creative garden design, including sack gardens, container gardens, tile gardens, and other innovative methods that maximize small spaces for food production.

The farm also serves as a learning space for women and youth in the community who want to improve household nutrition and food security. Volunteers are encouraged to share ideas, help design garden layouts, and assist with simple educational demonstrations.

This program is ideal for people interested in sustainability, gardening, agriculture, permaculture, environmental studies, or community development. It combines hands-on outdoor work, creativity, and meaningful cultural exchange in a welcoming rural Kenyan setting.
