Get TEFL Certified & Teach English in Japan!

There is a limit of what a couse like this can provide in only a few weeks. Considering how short it is, it does a great job in teaching all the very basic skills needed. Also, the job resources were very helpful and I did end up getting a contract in Japan, so my experience with ITA was very much a success.

When I looking to get a TEFL for teaching English in Japan, I needed something flexible as I was working full-time. I also wanted a program with positive reviews, as well as job search guidance. While I ended up not taking advantage of the supplementary classes, knowing I had the options was a nice perk.

I wanted to be able to travel and teach effectively around Asia. The course was excellent, though I I would have liked to cover more grammar than what we did. The back end of the book wasn’t covered in class. I now teach English in the JET Programme in Hiroshima, Japan.

The course was excellent, and the staff was extremely helpful. It was a bit of a surprise to me the length of my contract. Also a lot of the links on the websites and in some of the guides didn’t lead anywhere when I enrolled. Had I known I’d be in my contract in Japan for a year minimum I may have picked a different country. But I’m happy with my choice still.

It’s just very expensive but otherwise I’m content with what I got both with training and job guidance. I was hired to teach in an Eikawa [private language school ] in Japan. My employer was very happy with the video I submitted and the resume. I crafted these things based on the suggestions and feedback of ITA professionals and got several offers.

I honestly didn't have any critiques of the course. I didn't actually need it for my position with the JET Programme, but I felt better knowing I had put in the work and done some sort of formal education preparing myself for a teaching position.

When first enrolling I did not know what to expect. I had just finished college and still wanted to do something more and this was the perfect thing to keep me busy as well as interested. Being able to travel at a young age in addition to getting paid is a great way to learn and get international experience. ITA is excellent with the information they provide to future students as well as alumni!

As someone with a bachelors in education who’s dream was to travel, ITA helped show me that dream could become a reality! I loved this course and the additional knowledge, resources, and tools it gave me to not only use in my ESL career but certainly what I learned can carry over into the general education classrooms here in the U.S. as well. I truly value the experience this course allowed me and will continue to allow me as I begin my travels.

ITA has proven to a quality educational experience and I am grateful that I decided to choose this specific program. The learning environment is really enriching that are there to really help you succeed and not just after your money.

My first thought was that this course was really expensive. I realized quickly, you get what you pay for! I have had such amazing help learning to write lessons and prepare as well as looking for and deciding what the best fit is for me job-wise. The whole staff has been awesome! ITA was the best decision I could have made. They truly prepare you for a teaching position and what you might encounter along the way. My instructor was extremely helpful and gave great feedback on each assignment submitted. The chapters were interesting and a great refresher on grammar! There was plenty of practice creating lesson plans so don't worry if you have no clue (like me) they prepare you for it. Also, the job search guidance manual is so in depth on every aspect of working and living abroad and in any country, you could imagine.

This course was a great insight and preparation in what to expect when teaching abroad. Everyone I contacted from ITA was extremely responsive and helpful, making this online course feel as personal as it would've been if it was in person.

I had a basic idea of what I would be learning before I started course. But it still blew me away with how much I learned in the past few weeks. I started the class not being confident in my teaching abilities; but now I feel 100% prepared! I'm ready to pack up and begin my teaching adventure. This class is amazing.

Deciding to take this path in my life was scary and confusing. Once I contacted my advisor, she helped me throughout the whole process. She was able to give me all the information I needed and even helped answer questions I would have not thought of. During the course, I found myself excited and ready to learn. The Moodle was simple and the course provided me many great tools. My instructor did an amazing job with helping and learning. She really did go out of her way to help. I would definitely recommend this course to everyone I know because it has taught me so much.

The program is very easy to follow. The ITA team is invested in helping you and will guide you along the process. I liked how my instructor was willing to answer questions. My job search was smoother thanks to the guidance of the team. I would recommend that you invest in this program if you are ready to travel abroad and teach over seas! The online course has offered me with a great platform to learn and grow as a facilitator in my career. I am currently teaching in a charter school in America, and aspire to expand my teaching horizon in future, by exploring other continents. I think, the TEFL course is an incredible way of connecting to other educators around the world, learn about their experiences and embark on one's own.

The course has a nice variety of information covered in it, from how to run a classroom in a literal sense, to how to communicate with students, how to carry one's self, etc. There was a great mixture of textbook teaching, as well as real life applicable examples!

My college professor told me once to, "learn two new things every year, and one of them should scare you a little bit." This was that course. It has been awhile since I was in school. I've had a full career as a Professional Speaker and Trainer. I've traveled the world in that capacity, and decided one missing piece was the ability to help people learn to speak English. I did a fair amount of research looking for the right online school. I knew I had to do this on my own time. I heard so many great things about ITA that I took a shot. Danielle Lupo was the person who called me when I inquired. What a gem she is! She guided me through the whole process. I was thinking of doing this when I first spoke with her. By the end of the conversation it was just a given. I'm very happy I found ITA. I'm not onto the next step - the Practicum! Hi, my name in Adriana Pinto. I am just finishing my 170 hrs TEFL online certification at the International TEFL academy. After about 2 weeks of investigation, reading reviews, asking questions to the academies, I found out that ITA was the best option for me because it is an online course, but it does not take a year to complete it. You have bout 3 months to finish it with the guidance of a tutor and you are in contact with about 12 more students. You can exchange ideas between students and teachers, all the information give is updated, they give you the opportunity to participate in live lectures and as well if you work and can attend to the lectures, then you have the option to see the previously recorded ones. It has been challenging for me, but very rewarding. Also, asking you to make a practicum at the end of the course gives you the opportunity to put in practice your teaching theory so is a plus and also gives you teaching hours than in the future will be required when you start looking for a job abroad.

1. My admissions advisor was ready and willing to answer questions. He shared his own journey of teaching abroad, too! 2. This course is the best mixture of flexibility and preparation. 3. The practicum hours and final project pushed me to grapple with real life teaching dilemmas and seek practical solutions. 4. My professor provided great feedback for all my assignments, helping me better understand how to lesson plan and execute teaching strategies. 5. It comes with two bonus weeks on teaching specialized groups of learners!

My instructor was excellent, the learning platform was well executed and easy to use. I was able to spend my time learning to be a good teacher and not fighting buggy technology or a problematic instructor or system. Very happy that I chose ITA and would do it again!

ITA was a good experience overall. I had been flatlining in my day job for quite sometime and ITA gave me something to work towards. I felt like I was happier having the class to keep me busy. I am not quite finished with the course (still need to complete my practicum hours, which is proving to be harder than anticipated), but I feel like the workload was very doable and kept me busy after work. Overall, I would definitely take this course again, and I would definitely recommend this school to a friend who wished to teach abroad. The lessons were mostly challenging, but also very useful, and I will definitely be re-using concepts from these lesson tasks when I teach English abroad.

TEFL Academy gave me the opportunity to get my ESL certification while still working my day job. You are given assignments at the beginning of the course, and allowed to complete assignments when it is most convenient. This program is great for those who want the opportunity to teach abroad, but have to work at the same time.

This course was very intense, very rigorous, and very practical. I am an ELD/ESL teacher here in the US, and I can honestly say that I learned more practical material in this course than I did in my ESL certification course. Even if I never go overseas, this course will benefit me in my current position. I highly recommend it!

I have had an excellent experience with ITA TEFL. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to get certified. My instructor was great - always available to answer questions and was clearly passionate about teaching. The course content was good - a lot of the assignments are putting together lesson plans, which I know will help in the future. I've had a great experience.

The ITA online course is an incredible program if you want an affordable TEFL/TESOL certification course that allows you to earn your certification while living your own life, be it with school, work, or whatever. Recruiters answer all of your questions, instructors respond in a timely manner with useful feedback, and job search assistants help you get wherever you want to go. Most of all, this course is useful! The lessons you create there can be used in job applications/interviews, as well as in the classroom when you finally begin teaching. ITA also mandate that you teach 20 hours practicum, which may be intimidating at first, but provides you real-world teaching experience that sets your application apart from others.

I am so glad I received my TEFL certification through ITA! The coursework focused on many important aspects of teaching and gave countless resources and tips on how to hone the skills needed to be a successful English teacher. The homework assignments were very practical and I'm sure will be useful when I begin lesson planning in my own classroom. The ITA advisors I worked with were responsive and helpful in making sure this course was right for me, and have continued to reach out after my completion of the course to provide assistance with my job search. I definitely recommend this course to anyone considering receiving their TEFL certification. I look forward to seeing where this certification takes me in the future!!

It was a great class and I have never had a problem using my certificate. Although more expensive than others I feel the price was worth it and I recommend anyone who has plans to go abroad to use them too
