Get TEFL Certified & Teach English in South Korea!

I already knew I wanted to teach in South Korea, so in addition to completing my certification, I found the Alumni corner resources very helpful in finding teaching jobs. Also, the staff was very responsive whenever I had questions or needed assistance when it came to applying.

The course-work was top-botch and II definitely used the resume/cover letter review and found it super helpful. I also used the contract review and ended up turning down a few job offers in Korea before accepting my current one. VERY helpful resource!

Getting certified with ITA enabled me to teach abroad in Thailand and South Korea (so far). The online class was a great fit with my working schedule and the Alumni Corner was very helpful. I used the country profiles to really get an idea of how much it cost to move there, what was needed for visas and such! It was very helpful!

The most influential factors, on my decision to enroll in ITA, were the online course option, its good reputation, and post-course completion resources. I had just graduated from college and wanted to move to Korea to teach. I was looking specifically at the EPIK program, which requires a TEFL certification. Because, I was working as a substitute teacher at the time, I needed an online course that I could do on my own time. When I researched TEFL certification programs, ITA consistently was mentioned at the top of many lists. On top of that, my friend, who had joined the EPIK program a year prior, recommended it. I was also drawn in by the help I could still receive from ITA after completing the course.

International TEFL Academy was extremely helpful from the beginning until the end. It was easy to sign up for a course and get TEFL certified. The course was straightforward and very helpful. It really built my confidence before I actually went abroad to teach. The job search guidance was the best part of this company for me. During the Covid era many things were ever changing and difficult to navigate. The job search team was so helpful and made sure I was able to find the right position for me. They looked over my contract and really made me feel comfortable before going abroad. I am very thankful for their help!

So many things to learn in this course, I really enjoyed it all. The first half of it was really easygoing and made for a really smooth transition into the late part of the course where you are more focused on planning. I appreciated all the help my instructor gave, any question I asked was answered asap.

Currently in Week 10 of the 11-week course. I must say it's been a complete delight. Let's talk specifics: 1. Company: ITA has been very easy to contact, this includes my Instructor, Academic Advisor, and others. Everybody replies to e-mails within a timely manner, and are very friendly and professional. I did watch an introductory video about teaching overseas prior to registering, as part of my research of the company. 2. Course: From someone without teaching experience (my degree was in Kinesiology), this course has been great. The content is easily accessible (Moodle UI is user-friendly, a 5-year old could use it), relevant - current teaching methods/theories/practices, and engaging - designing lesson plans, various learner levels (Beginner --> Advanced), and learning styles are covered). The TEFL Course does not force a student to adopt a certain methodology, and takes a neutral stance on presenting theories/concepts. Any claim is heavily researched/supported. There are videos throughout each module, which bring extra content/insight into the TEFL world, and are kept short and focused. 3. Resources: ITA provides a wealth of resources during the TEFL course, and they are current (no dead links/pages) and easy-to-use. Every week e-mails are sent out with instructions on assignments, and the Instructor's personal comments to the Week's tasks, sometimes containing more resources. 4. Community: It seems ITA has built a strong community presence on social media, and while I have yet to engage with it directly, I respect ITA's commitment to TEFL teachers. There is a sense of cooperation and diligence through the videos and lectures, from people with years of experience and credentials behind them.

I really feel as though the TEFL online class has prepared me for teaching English abroad. I feel the tuition is worth it and I look forward to having a pic of me posted from another country where I am teaching English as a second language.

I signed up for the online course in March. While I prefer learning in an actual classroom, my life was too crazy and my finances were not limited. I picked the TEFL 170 hour Online course with the International TEFL Academy because it was convenient for me to maintain my crazy life and it simply had the best reviews for job search guidance. After taking this course I can absolutely tell you I signed on for a little more than expected but it was ALL beneficial. The material is challenging and taught me all about creating lesson plans and the varying learning needs of students. I have no background in teaching at all, so a lot of this information was new and sometimes tough to absorb. But my teacher provided excellent feedback and encouragement. My teacher also gave me a few other topics to think about when searching for teaching jobs abroad. He really helped me orient my ideas in a cohesive way. Also, the resources provided by the Job search advisors are VAST and incredible. There is so much information to digest with this process but you will certainly be given all the resources to find answers to those questions. I absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants a challenge that will truly prepare them for teaching English as a foreign language!

When i first looked at doing this course i did some research and then emailed the academy, I then had a phone hook up with Ahmed. He was excellent in his explanation of the course and had answers for all my questions. Once starting the course, this was different to other online courses i have done. I had an awesome experience. I’m confident that with more creative and innovative teaching methodologies I have learned during my online TEFL course, I will strive to make a difference in the student’s lives. At the end of the day it’s not only about learning English, but to open up their minds to a wider horizon and understanding of their future world.

At first, I felt anxious about taking this course because I didn't know much about it. I was only familiar with the title. I tried to read some reviews about this school and finally decided to pursue taking the course here. I am very much satisfied because the instructor does her job very well. The feedback are really helpful and she does it in details. More than that, the platform is easy to navigate. Overall, I can say that I got what I paid for.

I've been pleasantly challenged with each passing week of the TEFL academy online course. Just when I feel that I may be getting a bit stressed, I realize that I've acquired knowledge from the previous week that helped me get over the hump each time. The flow of the curriculum is very precise and efficient. I couldn't be happier with this investment in myself and my career!

ITA's TEFL course is challenging! When you sign up to take it you'd better strap on your thinking cap...'cause you're going to need it!! Knowing you have sharpened your own understanding and teaching skills is worth all the time and effort you will put into it. And when you see the light bulb go on in your first students' eyes...that will be very rewarding!

I really loved taking the course towards the certification, I feel like having it opens many doors to endless possibilities. I feel empowered. Anyone who loves to travel or just sees themselves moving to a different country one day and has a love for teaching and working with people, I think this is a great way to start.

This course gave me an understanding of how to teach English as a foreign language and let me explore my creative side with creating activities. It has given me an idea of how I want to teach and the kind of teacher I want to be to my future students.

Overall, this course was amazing! I've learned so much in the short time it took me to complete this course it's just incredible. International Tefl Academy has provided me with all the tools I need to be a successful EFL/ESL teacher in the near future. The course work itself was fun and all assignments were stimulating and educational. The teacher provided great feedback in a timely manner on all work and tests and facilitated weekly class discussions as well. The alumni group for this program is extremely helpful as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested!

I feel as though the online TEFL class prepared me to teach English in a short amount of time. With that said, I took the online course because I work full time and needed the flexibility of it. However, I felt like I was working full time and then going to school full time. It is A LOT to learn. My advice for this course: go in with the right mind set (that you will be working on school work for a minimum of 10 hours a week), constantly be looking ahead in your lessons, and start prepping your practicum hours within the first few weeks. All in all the 10 weeks fly by!

I have always dreamt of traveling the world but feared I would never find a way to accomplish my dream. The International TEFL Academy has helped in getting me closer to my dream. I am currently finishing my practicum after which I will be applying to several companies and I feel confident that I will succeed thanks to ITA's wonderful curriculum, faculty and advisors.

At first, I didn't realize that TEFL academy offered courses to be certified. I found just a bunch of resources that were very helpful on the web. When I realized that TEFL academy actually specializes in certifying students, I was thrilled. The staff is very responsible and compared to other places I researched, the school contacted me immediately. My teacher was very nice and gave me a lot of practical tips and was very encouraging. The practicum experience was very important and I feel more prepared to go overseas when the chance comes. I recommend TEFL Academy to anyone who is considering being certified to be an English teacher overseas. The online formatting was perfect, as I was working at the same time.

The course is perfect for the person who wants a quality education, while also being able to complete the course over a short time period. Not only do you have the opportunity to learn with them, but they also provide Job Searching Services for the alumni. Also, they create a community among the students and alumni to help each other out. I would recommend this course to everyone!

Overall this was a great course. It was easy to follow along and get all the necessary tools through the online program and balance it between my full time job. Creating lessons plans and activities gave me hands on experience as to what it will be like to plan for a real class. I am happy with my experience.

My experience with the online class has been phenomenal! My professor was easily accessible, helpful, and she knew her stuff! The coursework was fair and relevant to teaching abroad. I feel excited and confident about my experience overseas.

I chose this course because of all of the courses I researched in advance, this one seemed the most comprehensive. I can say that my experience did match my expectations. This course was well-thought-out in content and presentation. The weekly assignments were sometimes demanding, but always a valuable learning experience. I really enjoyed the course because it gave me the chance to be creative while learning something completely new. The skills that I've learned in this course would be valuable in teaching English as a foreign language and in any other career arena. It has given me in excellent communication tools and an understanding of how people learn. This course combines many approaches to foster acquisition of teaching skills and knowledge. The text book is very thorough, and includes a combination of reading, YouTube videos and demonstrations of activities. Our course instructor was responsive and knowledgeable. We had regular online instructor hours, as well as weekly discussions, which gave us the opportunity to get to know our fellow students. It wasn't necessary to have a formal teaching background to be successful in this course, although many of the other students did have teaching backgrounds and were able to share their knowledge with the rest of us in our weekly discussions. All in all, I would recommend this course to anyone interested in teaching English abroad.

Take the class online; it's excellent. It's a lot of work, but taking the class online let me work at my own pace and read the coursework on the train to and from work. Reading the course book taught me the origins of the English Language, grammar rules, teaching methods, and so much more. Grades were posted every Monday, and my instructor was very fair when she graded my assignments.

As far as an advisor goes, Doug was awesome. I am a person with 7 million questions and 39 sub questions to each of those. Doug took his time to listen and answer each question and concern I had- even when there were numerous calls and emails. I took the course and gained a lot of information and knowledge that I wouldn't have survived my first couple of months teaching in South Korea without. Because of the alumni connections- I met some of my now best friends before ever heading out on my adventure. They were amazing and our bond in this crazy new time was just what I needed.

My program that helped me get situated (ITA) was wonderful. They helped me decide whether or not I wanted to do EPIK vs. Hagwon in South Korea. They had an advisor who looked over my resume and cover letters which was helpful. Additionally, they gave me a list of recruiters who they had success working for! They were available very easily through an email and I got feedback very fast! I would recommend ITA to anyone! It is a fantastic company!
