Program Overview

Due to its widespread use in media and music, Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) or (Aameya) is the most commonly understood dialect of Arabic in the Middle East. It provides students with skills to interact with the spoken form of the Arabic language used in Egypt.

In this course, we focus on Listening, Speaking, Pronunciation, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, and Grammar as well as on fun activities.

IH Cairo uses in-house teaching materials and textbooks to facilitate learning. We use the Kallimni Arabi book series published by the American University in Cairo Press, which is used at IH Cairo and commercially available. We have also developed supplementary educational resources to enhance the learning experience and complement our textbook series.

The Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) course has 12 levels, ranging from Beginners (Level One) to Advanced (Level 12). Each ECA level is 40 Hours. Students can book a 2-week course, equivalent to half a level.

2-week ECA Course:
Duration: 20 Hours
Fees: $270
4-week ECA Course:
Duration: 40 Hours
Fees: $540
