Program Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Product Design at IED Madrid is a 240-ECTS, four-year bilingual program that equips students to develop meaningful design solutions across physical, digital, and service contexts. Covering the full design process—from conception and technical development to communication and project management—the curriculum emphasizes circular thinking and sustainability and addresses key areas such as health, education, mobility, and culture.
Highly practical in methodology, hands-on training takes place in the Fab Lab, where students work with wood, metal, ceramics, biomaterials, and recycled materials using techniques ranging from 3D printing and CNC milling to thermoforming and screen printing. The program integrates industry collaboration through real company projects, Design Labs, and final-year work experience. It concludes with a Final Project showcased on national and international platforms and design competitions.
Graduates gain a professional portfolio and the skills needed for freelancing, design studios, or roles in UX and digital products. Accredited in the European Higher Education Area, this degree also grants access to master's and doctoral programs.
