Intern in Barcelona, Spain with CIS Abroad

I completed a social media martketing internship for a Spanish language academy during my intern program with CIS Abroad. I am really satisfied with my internship placement, as CIS Abroad made sure to match me with an opportunity closest to my interests and experience. Not only did I gain on-hand experience through my internship, but I also strengthened my cultural intelligence. I immersed myself and learned about a different work culture, practiced & strengthened my Spanish, and adapted to use different communication styles. On top of that, CIS Abroad supported me and was there if I had any questions, concerns, etc. I would highly recommend completing an internship abroad with CIS!

I chose to do a 6 week internship during the summer in Barcelona. I completed an internship at Barcelona well women center. I had the best time due to my amazing boss. I lived in a homestay and it was a great cultural experience! CIS offered a lot of great events to go to and group hangouts. One of my personal favorites was the cooking class where we learned to make traditional Spanish food like paella and pan con tomate. Barcelona is one of the best places I've been and I cannot wait to go back.

Summer 2017 has been one of the best one's of my life! Currently a Senior at the University of Texas at Austin I had the grand opportunity to intern abroad as an education intern. From the food, the amazing strangers who instantly became friends, the breathtaking architecture, navigating the metro, to simply relaxing at the beach reading a book, Barcelona was everything and more that I wished for. I love traveling independently, as a student with a congenital physical disability accessibility was important for me. The program personnel were extremely communicative to ensure all my accommodations where in place for when I arrived. This made my stay comfortable and allowed me to experience the city to my full potential. My work environment was enjoyable. A good experience lies in your attitude. Yes you will experience challenges, but that is part of life. Enjoy every second and capture a mental image every moment. Go out by yourself, and explore. Meet strangers, get acquainted. Most of all be positive and make the most of your time in beautiful Barcelona.
