Begin Session 1 with a day trip exploring Petra, an ancient city intricately carved into stony cliffs.
Visit Petra or engage in a hiking trip that blends outdoor adventure with archaeological heritage during the second session day trip.
Explore more day trip options, including Biblical Jordan, encompassing the Madaba Plains (the biblical lands of Moab), Mt. Nebo, Madaba city, and the Dead Sea.
Visit iconic mosques, museums, and cafes.
Engage with guest speakers as they shed light on a variety of issues, ranging from the contemporary music scene to discussions on race and identity in Jordan.

Internship
April 15, 2019by: Katy N.Program: CIEE Summer Middle East Studies in Amman, JordanI would recommend because I like the class options CIEE offers. Unlike other programs, CIEE allows students to get real-world experience at an internship. I would be unlikely to recommend CIEE to a friend if they intend to learn Arabic intensively. CIEE loses some of its Arabic intensity by offering other activities. If someone wants to learn Arabic fluently, they should be in the CIEE AAL Program and not MES.
