Despite its famous ruins, the capital of Jordan has plenty of cosmopolitan character and modern sensibility. One minute you are atop the highest of Amman’s seven foremost hills, where the ancient citadel offers spectacular views all around – and a fascinating look back to the Bronze Age. Later the same day, you’re window shopping on trendy Rainbow Street after a tasty meal at a restaurant with sidewalk tables. Wherever you are, you’ll see why Amman has a well-earned reputation for hospitality.

All CIEE personnel I have interacted with have been incredibly helpful and kind. Everything from my application to arrival and coursework were as smooth and well-handled as I could have hoped for. I had excellent instructors and a great experience in my courses. The cultural activities were also amazing and added to my time in Jordan.

I would recommend because I like the class options CIEE offers. Unlike other programs, CIEE allows students to get real-world experience at an internship. I would be unlikely to recommend CIEE to a friend if they intend to learn Arabic intensively. CIEE loses some of its Arabic intensity by offering other activities. If someone wants to learn Arabic fluently, they should be in the CIEE AAL Program and not MES.
The CIEE program provided a very supportive and inclusive environment. Not only were they there to assist in all aspects of the study abroad experience - they went above and beyond to make each day special.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my semester with CIEE. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they always were willing to help out with anything and everything. The classes were fabulous, and the excursions and outings were perfect.
