CIEE Summer in London, England

I am likely to recommend CIEE to a peer because of it's impact it's had on my experience abroad. I have developed great relationship from people of all different backgrounds and have really reflected on myself and my qualities as a person.

CIEE has openly accepted every student that has came from my 2 different sessions and has made living in London feel so easy and familiar. I believe they work very hard to give the students a great study abroad experience and have been so amazing.

CIEE was a pretty good program. I would recommend CIEE because of the flexibility in what I was able to do. However, there needs to be more communication during the pre-departure period. For example, Kali and Dom were saying different things in reference to bringing sheets for the bed. . I'm not sure if there was strong communication between the CIEE London location and the US CIEE location. I think it's important to also let students know of things like the different voltage so they can make those purchases before they come to the UK. Also, this program can get somewhat expensive because it doesn't include food. Providing a few more meals before or after class or possibly including a stipend/gift card with funds would be helpful even if that would increase the trip cost slightly.

This program helped me gain a broad knowledge of Identity and representation in media aside from my major Economics. Studying abroad through CIEE helped me understand British Culture, got to network with other people and made life long friends. This program helped brought the independent nature of me being away from home. Activities here are well organized and the staff here friendly and easy to talk to.

This program offers a great introduction to the city through excursions near or within London. There were many opportunities to go and explore several areas and CIEE places students in a great central location! The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful and were willing to go above and beyond for their students!

I would most definitely recommend CIEE to a friend. This program is outstanding...and that's an understatement. I enjoyed London and all it brought to me. Many friendships were developed and I believe i established long lasting networks.

The program is tailored in a way that makes first-time travelers comfortable about living abroad without coddling them. The classes are informative and intimate, and the group excursions are great for exploring areas that students may not have thought about when they were planning their sightseeing trips.
