Cape Town was a great place and environment to learn and grow. Coming from an American perspective and working with NGO brought new perspectives that I never thought I would grow in and be challenged.
I would highly recommend CIEE because of the strong support system, unique cultural immersion, and the wide range of programs that cater to different academic and personal interests. My experience felt both meaningful and well-structured, I had guidance when I needed it, but also enough independence to grow. The staff was knowledgeable and approachable, and the program helped me gain a deeper understanding of global perspectives, especially through my internship placement. It's a great way to study abroad while staying on track academically and making lasting memories.
I would recommend it to a friend. The staff took care of a lot of logistics. I like that we had excursions planned. And that the accomodations were very nice and up to my standards. I liked my internship placement as well. I had difficulty being placed but it worked out in the end.
