May 10, 2009by: Richard Barney - ArgentinaThe CIEE program in BA is great. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They work hard to place you in a good host home, and they have dorms where you stay with other spanish speaking students. The academic offerings are impressive. If you go to BA with CIEE there are a number of different options for course work available depending on your level of Spanish and goals. You can take classes alongside other Argentine students at University of Buenos Aires or the Universidad Pontifica Catolica if you want to go for full immersion or take classes through course offerings through CIEE with other CIEE students. CIEE will provide you with tutors at no additional cost if you feel you need them.

Buenos Aires is an amazing party city. Party from 12am to 8am every night if you want. The dollar goes a long way. It's awesome.

My only complaint with CIEE is that the program is fairly large -- 100+ students -- and the temptation to not get out and meet actual Argentinians is strong.

I would recommend this program to anyone who is serious about improving their Spanish but unsure if they're ready for immersion without a support net.

I would recommend going for the fall year because you won't want to come back after a semester.
