The Center for Eco-Cultural Studies (CES) is dedicated to exploring and preserving the intricate balance between nature and culture. Our primary mission is to conduct comparative eco-cultural studies to develop sustainable resource management practices that benefit both traditional agricultural communities and the natural environment across Sri Lanka. Our research focuses on fostering community participation and collaboration to prevent habitat degradation, particularly within wildlife-protected areas, and to address the growing demand for forestlands and combat wildlife crime.
