Camp Europe

It's hard to describe all of my - or even some of my - favourite moments at camp because of a few reasons, namely, the sheer amount and quality of those memories. However, I truly believe the camp experience was fundamental to my upbringing throughout my teenage years (being a camper and a counsellor between the ages of 17 - 19). I also believe my experiences were fundamental to how I was shaped as a young adult, from a professional standpoint, where I was given responsibilities beyond my capacity at the time, and from a personal standpoint, where I had to cooperate with dozens of nationalities, cultures, and upbringings. I credit much of openness, charisma, and professional success to the time I spent in Europe instead of lounging around back home with not much to do. I wouldn't change a thing about my experience. One of my core memories is the first teamer training I went through. At that point, I had never left for an extended period of time, and 3 months sounded daunting. After a few days of rigorous training, it seemed like I had left my old life behind, barefoot, in the mud, zipping around, climbing from tree to tree, executing flawless dishcos and cooking some questionably good meals. Jan's first boom-shika-boom (I hope I spelled that correctly) is forever ingrained in my memory. However, not to focus on one isolated incident, many memories spring to mind: the Austrian mountains, the English Castles, the Danish plains, the German forests and Neuburg's Schlossfest (not knowing about the existence of Schlossfest is a recipe for a delightful surprise). The list goes on and on and on. I remember leading 2 leadership in a row, with 2 hikes in a row, that's 200+ KM of walking in 8 days, with not a single bite to eat. The more I write, the more I remember, and the more nostalgic I feel. All in all, I do wish I could go back in time to truly appreciate my time there and relive every second. Thank you Camp Europe. You've changed my life.

It’s like a family, you will never get enough of it. I started off wondering what I was getting myself into but it was one of the best decisions. Good laugh with the kids and fellow teamers. Plenty of activities.

This place helped me grow as a person like no other volunteer work could have done while I was able to give kids the opportunity to have the summer of a lifetime. It’s amazing to see how they come out of their shell while being only surrounded by nature without a phone in sight. Apart from that I got to work with my friends from all over the globe every day and some of them have become friends for life.

I did not no what to expect when I first applied and I was surprised in the most exhilarating way possible! This place feels like home and the people that continue to run it from the inside are phenomenal

The perfect oportunity to meet people from all over the world and work with children from all walks of life. Such a varied experiece with so many activities, from fire making and archery to watersports and high ropes

Camp Adventure is a magnetic summer camp experience, you always come back to it, you find your summers are not filled without it. I have been a camp counsellor for several years now but it is truthfully much more than that; from English teacher to high ropes instructor and seasoned 130km hiker. If you like a bit of rough and tumble and the good old outdoors, you’re in the right place.

It was a great experience with loads of really interesting people, the facilities are good and the activities are always varied and fun, It's a good mix of sports and creative activities as well which is visibly appreciated

Participating in Camp Europe was easily one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I arrived at the training in [Location, Walsrode], I knew I was in for something special. The program strikes a perfect balance between hard work and pure fun. I walked away with much more than just a certificate; I gained leadership skills, lifelong friends from across the globe, and a newfound confidence in my ability to adapt to any environment. If you're looking to step out of your comfort zone and make a real impact on kids' lives, this is it!

A truly unforgettable experience. Here I made life-long relationships and learned about so many different cultures. My work felt extremely fulfilling and I feel strong nostalgia for this time in my life.

Camp changed my life. It gave me opportunities that I'd never had before, such as getting to see many different countries, and meeting new people from those countries and also from others. Honestly, the people you meet and become friends with are people that you probably wouldnt see yourself being friends with back home, or at least thats what it was for me, but thats what makes it all the more worthwhile. Oh yeah, and the works not half bad either.

Camp taught me lots about outdoor education opportunities and gave me the opportunity to learn about other cultures and work in a very diverse environment. I have met so many amazing people and made memories that will last a lifetime!

This camp is the perfect execution of how the mixing of countless cultures can be experienced. I was able to meet people from around the world, and learn their stories and lifestyles and become friends with so many different people. The best part is how it feels like such a close cummunity yet whenever anyone comes in, they embrace them and welcome them. One week, you may be best friends with a few people, and the next your best friends with even more, and every week your there you just become besties with more people. You create memories and experiences that don’t exist in other places. And being able to mentor and provide these experiences to younger generations as the grow and learn. There is countless positive things to be said about this, but the only negative thing I have to say is I can’t get enough of it.

I am so thankful to Camp Europe for blessing me with the best memories I will ever make in my 20s. The people you will meet and work with will become your friends for life. To sum up my favourite camp moments into a brief statement is virtually impossible. I have been to camp twice now and although they were so different there is still this golden thread of community and fun that tie them together. I absolutely love watching the kids conquer a new skill like canoeing or archery or perhaps just making a new friend that they refuse to leave behind when they brush their teeth at night. The community of people that you will meet at camp is truly unique and you won’t find this perfect blend of people anywhere else. I really recommend!!

I was in camp for at least two months and it was an amazing experience. I loved the people and working with the kids and I would recommend it to everyone who likes being outdoors and dealing with little kiddos and teens. One of the huge benefits is, that you will find friends all over the world - that's really a gift. The only downsides are sometimes the housing - depends on the sites and how many people are on site - and the fact that not many people get the chance to go to a camp outside of germany.

Great place to meet people from all around the world, create lifelong friendships, gain some outdoor education skills, and spend time in nature. Many beautiful memories created in Diplo town as well, but I'm still dealing with issues created by the amount of mold in our containers.

Great experience, working and living outdoor, fun accommodations, great food, meeting great people form around the world, and working with kids, doing so much different activities! Never bored, always something to do, I would recommend for student summer jobs

It was my second year at camp and it was even more incredible than the first time. Always new and interesting people and fun activities! The opportunity to travel from camp to camp is also a nice bonus. Would do it again if given the chance.

Camp Europe is a special place. You come for the work, and you stay for the people. My first season at camp changed me a lot. Neither in a positive nor a negative way. It just happens, and after 5 or 6 weeks you realice your not the same anymore. It's the people who make that place special and also change you. The cultural differences, languages and lifestyles of people from all around. the world. Because you probably never had a best friend from South Africa or New Zealand, but you just might after sharing a room or tent with them for weeks. It can be hard working for camp, you have long hours, spending almost every minute with kids, but I have yet to find a more enriching job than I have at Camp. So I embraced the changes I found within myself and go back every year. Plus you get to travel to awesome places with cool kids and great coworkers.

I really enjoyed this opportunity. I gained friends from all over the world and more experience with kids with different backgrounds and nationalities. Even thought it rained every other day, the sweet lunches on Thursdays and the 7pm dinners, I have no regrets about my decision to go to camp. I always loved traveling and Im looking forward to new experiences this spring.

I really enjoyed my time as an outdoor education diplo. It was amazing in different ways. I challenged myself in doing a lot of things that I was afraid of before. I met so many friends that we still meet from time to time and I know we will keep doing that. And I learnt so many new things and skills which have changed me in other parts of my life.

I completed the diploma program in 2024 and it was both life changing, challenging and fulfilling. If you are looking to learn new skills, spend all day outdoors, be apart of an international family and step outside your comfort zone I highly recommend the diploma program to you.

Everytime I got back from camp I felt refreshed - even though it was exhausting sometimes. But just being outside all the time, making so many new friends around the globe was always worth it. The first year I did camp, I told all my people at home that this was the best summer I‘ve ever had.

Camp has been a second home, a place where I can nurture my inner child and grow as an adult. In a world divided by power and politics, camp is a safe space where internationalism is something that unites people.

My experience as a camp counselor at Camp Adventure was one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. From early mornings to late-night planning sessions, the role required energy, responsibility, and a genuine commitment to the campers. I learned how to lead with patience, communicate clearly, and adapt quickly when things didn’t go as planned (which happened often). Watching campers grow more confident, make new friends, and try things they were initially afraid of was incredibly fulfilling and made every long day worthwhile. A major highlight of the experience was working under our camp director, Barry. Barry was truly larger than life—in the best way. His confidence and passion for Camp Adventure were impossible to miss, and it was clear that he cared deeply about both the campers and the staff. Barry brought enthusiasm and structure to the camp, always setting high expectations and encouraging counselors to rise to the occasion. His strong leadership presence helped keep the camp running smoothly, even during the busiest and most chaotic moments. Barry also had a great sense of humor and wasn’t afraid to own his role as the face of the camp. Staff meetings were engaging and motivating, often leaving us energized and reminded of why our work mattered. Overall, Camp Adventure challenged me, helped me grow as a leader, and gave me memories I’ll always value. With supportive coworkers, amazing campers, and a confident, dedicated director like Barry, it was truly an unforgettable experience.

Giving the fact we were the first dipoles group, we had a fantastic time building a little community. The courses were great and the fact that we were able to mix theory and practice was a plus. Great program if you are interested in outdoor education.

First did Summer 2023 from June-August. Incredible experience all around . Got to learn multiple new skills, meet people from all over the world and see a lot of Germany . There were some days more demanding than others in terms of work but all in the name of making it the best possible experience. Food was a lot better than I initially anticipated and overall the experience led me to return in the summer of 2024 to do it all again.

I think this was a really good experience. Being outside around people and connected to nature and your surroundings is really good and refreshing. You ge true opportunity to connect ziti people you would otherwise probably never meet each coming from different background experiences and it’s a really great way to build friendships with people across the world.

Where do I start. Camp is a place where you - not only meet a lot of new people but you make life long friend who I will probably consider family. A place where you drink to much milk, learn, grow, fall in love, fall out of love, but most importantly you grow. You learn to go to bed at 4 am and wake up at 6 am you learn new languages new things about different countries, new personalities and you learn to adapt.

Really good fun and I wish I could do it as a job full time. I would stay there forever as the people and the locations are forever etched into my brain. I often day dream of times at camp it was that good

This was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I met amazing people from all over the world, made great connections, and shared countless laughs every day. The work was genuinely rewarding and meaningful, and I always felt like what I was doing mattered. I learned a lot, grew as a person, and came away with nothing but good memories. There’s truly nothing bad to say about the experience.

Some of my favorite moments at camp were the canoe trip in Regen and the hike. I also really enjoyed the day trip to Munich. I had the opportunity to do HR training in Walsrode and take the lifeguard test, which was an amazing experience. One of the best memories at camp was when I went to Gadow for one week and had to carry my small suitcase through the forest because I didn’t have a backpack. I also went several times to Silberberg and tried both roller coasters. However, I would say that meeting new people from different countries was the best thing ever, as well as discovering some of the best camp games, like the blow dart game and the odds game. Once, I lost and had to sleep on a trampoline. This year definitely won’t be my last one at camp, but first I need to achieve my goal of becoming a CG. After that, it will be a pleasure to come back to camp to work and see some friends.

I I really cherish my time at camp this please for me has been different than any other place. I have volunteered there every summer during my university years and in those times I could say that I had the time of my life in this place I had some of the most wonderful memories did a lot of the most rewarding activities and a lot of memorable people that I’ll always remember for the rest of my life

I'm South African and before this I had never been outside the country. I was nervous about this experience but Camp Europe made it super easy, from letting me know where and when to go at each point of my journey to welcoming me in with open arms. Even as someone who doesn't speak German I felt super comfortable at Camp. I loved all the different activities that were offered, everything from archery to bracelet making. Campfires every night for teamers to bond, learn and soak in the different cultures and languages.

My experience at the camp was amazing. It was incredible to meet people from different countries, share experiences, and create friendships that I’ll always remember. The children were full of energy and enthusiasm, always eager to try new activities, and the teamers were kind, supportive, and fun to work with. The camp offered the perfect mix of adventure activities and team challenges, making every day exciting and rewarding. One of the sweetest moments was on my birthday, when the group of girls I was taking care of surprised me with balloons, small gifts, and a very sweet celebration. It was incredibly thoughtful and touching, and I grew very fond of them — it’s a memory I will treasure forever. Overall, my time at the camp was awesome, filled with learning, unforgettable moments, and a strong sense of connection with both the children and the team. I left with valuable experiences, personal growth, and a heart full of gratitude.

I had an amazing experience! Camp got me to my job now to work with kids. I am coming back every year since to do different stuff. You will meet awesome people and an amazing place, no matter which camp you will got. Cheers to everyone in camp

I keep coming back for the community and the lifestyle! I have spent three solid summers here so far. As an American, this is a great cultural experience for me to go all over Europe but with a group and doing something intentional, purposeful, and whimsical.

Great opportunity to travel and meet interesting people while levelling up your life skills and experience! Lots of fun to be had leading activities for campers, and plenty of opportunities to get creative within the activity programme. A range of different camps offering something for everyone, sports, language, bushcraft, arts and crafts and more!

Being there made me grow up in so many ways, first, as a no-native-speaker I had the chance every day to share about my culture and hear about the others, people in that camp embrace all of your outdoor spirits, it feels like being at home. Second I learned so much about outdoor education and practiced a lot. Always felt accompanied by the coordinators and our directors giving us feedback and helping us to move forward through our own uncertain and unhappy days. Is a roller coaster, such wonderful moments to keep in our memories and others you don't want to remember but sure thing you have your squad (Diplo family) that is gonna hear, help, and move on with you. I was fortunate to spend my time there, whether have a change to do it one more time, I’ll do it with the same 16 human beings who belong to my crew.

My first time travelling solo was to Germany to work with camp adventure and it was an amazing experience. The training was very thorough and I felt very prepared to work with children after. Days can be long and tiring but it’s worth it when you can make so many amazing memories with your kids each week. There is lots of opportunity for creativity and to bring your own interests into camp activities so days are not repetitive. The people are always so amazing and are the reason I look forward to going back again next year :)

I have been coming to Camp Adventure for a couple of years now and every time it has been a great experience! Meeting new likeminded people, doing incredible activities with the kids and going on adventurous hikes never gets boring!

Best summer ever I had the best time ever and really learned so many skills it was just phenomenal to be able to use my language skills and learn so many new things I didn’t know before hand! I want to go back asap!

Perfect program to work with kids and experience a summer camp with great activities (canoeing, high ropes, archery etc.) 10/10 would recommend if you like working with kids, nature, camping and if you´re ready for the next adventure in your life. :)

I have experience, activities and friends for life from this experience so it is something I appreciate. I had a lot of ups and downs along the way working here but overall I look at this experience in a positive light. I did the outdoor education diploma (diplo) in 2023. I’ll never forget or regret it. Seems cheesy but it’s very hard to sum up in a few lines. The camps are mostly well run and organised, although living conditions are always going to be a bit basic. On a good week you have a great laugh with the kids, on a bad week you have a great moan with the other teamers. For all the complaining I sometimes did at the time, I got a lot out of it and would recommend it to anyone who likes outdoorsy fun and is basically sensible.

I've been to camp for 3 times now, coming back every year. It's an amazing experience where you work with people from all over the world. The work with children really brings people together. You really make friends for life from all over the world, bonding over camp.

I was a teamer, then participated in the diploma program which eventually led me to become a director/freelancer. It was some of the most amazing experiences which really led me to grow and showed me so much in just a short space of time.

Camp offers everyone the chance to meet a range of different people from across the globe. This opportunity can be eye opening and has allowed me to make life long friends with people from the otherside of the world with completely different lived experiences. The lessons learned from these interactions can be eye opening and help shape your world view while also helping you to understand other cultures in professional settings in the future. Additionally, camp exposes you to a range of roles ranging from management roles, logistics roles and of course running rewarding programmes for children and teenagers. Training is provided for those wishing to hang out in the trees and teach high ropes; While, camp provides you with all the training, tools and skills to run a fun, effective and educational programme with your team.

Spent nearly 3 months as volunteer with camp adventure and was placed at their camp site in Regen-Bavaria and also at their main camp site in walsrode. All in all it was an overall good experience with alot of fun activities to do every day.

Great people, cool and engaging activities, great staff. The team is always ready to help with whatever concerns you have, new cultures and languages. Would always do that again, met sone lovely people.

I had the best time working as a teamer at camp adventure, I applied to stay for 1 month and ended up staying for 2. It was amazing to meet other teamers and campers from all over the world. It was my first time experiencing camp life and it was truly amazing and a summer to remember, The people, the food, conversations, activities and the vibes and energy all collectively made a magical experience for me and I hope to return again!

It was such an amazing experience and it pushes you out of your comfort zone in a good way❤️❤️. I really appreciate working with all the directors and teamers. They are all amazing people and genuinely love making the camp a better place for the kids.

We had so much fun playing games, exploring nature, and making new friends. We learned new skills and had lots of adventures. The camp was full of joy and laughter every day. Thank you for all your hard work and for making this summer unforgettable!

With Camp Adventure, I found myself coming back year after year. The place has grown so much and there are such wonderful and friendly people to talk to. You work on varied activities with the kids and even have a chance to teach if you want to get some practise before a TOEFL! I would recommend so much if you were wanting to have a gap year or explore Germany more. It’s a great opportunity to work with kids but also work with some absolutely lovely people ☺️

Being a teamer at Camp Europe is one of the best things you can do. You get to travel all around Europe to the different camps. You can expect good directors and a international team! You wil make friends for a lifetime from all around the world! Camp life can differ while some Camps like Bath and Amrum are focused on language learning others like Walsrode are bigger on the adventure/survival side. But everyone that I spoke to from english language teachers to highropes instructors thoroughly enjoyed their time at Camp and can't wait to come back the next year

Overall good learning experience for different all kinds of activities. But should offer more topic on the social / pedagogy aspects like how to deal with difficult children or how to deal with stress etc

Camp was so much fun ! The people are great you are working with. Everyone is so like minded. I signed up with the intention of meeting lots of people before traveling and I did do that but got so much more out of it. I love sports and games so it was so much fun for me.

Nature meets cultural exchange meets taking care of children! Camp Adventure was one of the best times of my life. If you are open to take on some challenges and step out of your comfort zone, that’s the place for you!

I've been working at camp for 3 years now and every year is so amazing, i have made lifelong friends from all over the world and everyday is filled with so much fun and laughter. The team always gives you so much from support and I am so grateful for the experiences I have had at camp.

Absolutely loved my time at Camp Adventure (Walsrode) as a teamer. The atmosphere allows for so much growth as both an individual and leader. I enjoyed getting to experience new cultures and making new friendships that I will cherish forever. Being from South Africa ?? I enjoyed being able to experience all types of European cultures and interacting with the children and telling them all about the wonderful things it has to offer.

It sounds cliche but it did really feel like a family, their was never one person who I never got on with or didn’t speak too, and day to day life at camp is really enjoyable and good energy around the place, everything flows easily and works well.

Working in a fun international team in beautiful camp locations around Germany and rest of Europe! I've never made as many amazing friends as I have here! The work is sometimes tough and hours long but it's always rewarding!

I spend 7 months as a volunteer in this camp and I would choose to do it again. I recommend it to everyone that wants to get out of their comfort zone and grow. You will work in an international environment with amazing and fun people, make new friends, learn a lot and gain a broad skill set. You can take on many different roles and get a great insight into the organisation of a camp.

I've been a volunteer summer counselor for 4 years and I just can't get enough. You get to meet so many amazing people from all over the world and get to show kids how to enjoy being outside (and they always do). The place to be in summer! Twas’ great fun, good place to be as a young person and yeah nah yeah, goes well matey! Yeah nah mate, camp adventure as a teamer she’s good fun, good ole time and you almost wish it never ends, some weeks you get a bit sad as you make good mates and then you move to another camp but the sadness lasts a day cause pretty soon you’ve got a new best mate!

I took part in the Outdoor Diploma program this past summer, and it was the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. It was a great opportunity to deepen and get new skills, take on more responsibility, and connect with people from all over the world. The first part of the program was focused on training. We learned everything from the basics of outdoor activities like every single game on earth to team-building and leadership skills. The training was well-organized, and we had a chance to really bond as a group. We definitely grew close and supported each other through the ups and downs. Of course, the program wasn’t always easy. Long workdays and sometimes it did feel like a bit overwhelming. But even when things were tough, there was always something rewarding to look forward to. Wheter it was seeing the kids push themselves in their activities or enjoying a campfire at the end of the day. Despite the busy schedule, there were plenty of moments where we could let loose, laugh, and enjoy the camp atmosphere. Whether it was competing in team challenges, playing games with the kids, or just chilling with the other teamers and diplos, the fun never stopped. There’s something about being outdoors all day that makes everything more exciting and memorable. As the peak season arrived, we found ourselves taking on more leadership roles, which was both exciting and challenging. The busy days were filled with teamwork, problem solving, and unforgettable moments, like watching the kids accomplish new things, from winning at gagaball to getting their first canoeing experience. There were definitely tough moments, but those were outweighed by the incredible experiences like seeing the kids joy, making lifelong friendships, and learning skills that I’ll use in the future. If you love being outdoors and enjoy connecting with others, the Outdoor Diploma program is an amazing opportunity. The growth and the memories you’ll make are more than worth!

Signed up on a whim, needed something to do. They decided to take me on and i enjoyed every moment. Through many trials and tribulations i came out on the other side with so many great memories and new friends that i am making plans with the whole time. I am grateful for some of the trust that i was given in a lot of circumstances and i would highly reccomend going. If youre looking for something to do, try camp! You wont regret it

I have met my best friend through camp, I have travelled the world visiting friends I met and had the privilege of working with some great kids. So many different people from different cultures. Totally changed my life.

Oh what a journey the Diplo program is! A beautiful, exhausting and enriching journey. The first one and a half months of training are so much fun. There's gonna be the build up and a lot of physical and dirty jobs, there's gonna be team building, lots of fun games and interesting trainings. You grow together as a group and learn all you need to know about camp, the different activities and roles. And you will already get the chance to test your skills and use what you learned with school trips and in the Easter Camp. In preseason you will also have some days off so you can make a little trip with the Diplo crew and explore the surroundings. Then main season hits and the real deal starts. The whole diplo crew is gonna be spread out to all the different locations. That's the most challenging and exhausting time but your gonna learn so much, meet so many cool people and amazing kids and get more and more confident in what you're doing. Camp is a great place to surpass yourself. It gives you the opportunity to take over responsibility quickly and step into a leading position. At times you will be annoyed, angry, overworked, tired and frustrated. But for every frustrating thing there are 10 beautiful things that outweigh the struggles and challenges. For me it's waking up, stepping outside, seeing nature and knowing that this is your working environment. It's seeing the kids giving everything on the dancefloor and vibing with them. It's seeing their joy and excitement when they made a fire for the first time. It's witnessing their courage to go on the stage and show their talent at the talent show. It's seeing them bond over the short span of a week and knowing you helped creating an unforgettable experience for them. This is what I did it for and why I would do it again. And of course there are also the incredible and inspiring friendships and connections you make with other diplos and teamers. Now after the program it feels like there is a whole world of new ideas and possibilities. It's a special, crazy and beautiful world.. get in there!

I did the Camping Adventure Diplo program in 2022 and I must say it was the best summer of my life. I was a regular teamer in 2021 and enjoyed my time so much that I committed to coming back to do diplo. I am very happy with my decision to do diplo and not just freelancing because I got to be part of a special group of 17 that became more or less my family that summer. We did all of our training together and lived in close proximity, which created quick bonds. On the negative side, there were quite a few times where our group was split up because staff was needed at different locations early on due to the business of camp. This was one of our biggest complaints as a group, however in the following years, I have seen how the company took this into suggestion and actively tried to keep the diplo groups together for longer. As the peak summer season came around, everybody was very busy, and many of our group were out in directors positions, which shows the trust management has in the diplo trainees. Along with that came an influx of all the summer teamers, which was a breath of fresh air as we got to meet even more new people. My favorite week each year is always the first teamer training, where the vibes are super high as we get to help train the new teamers. Overall, the diplo program keeps you incredibly busy, but it is also very rewarding. I have met friends from all over the world who I will stay in contact with for the rest of my life, as well as learned skills that I can use forever. I would always recommend the Camping Adventure Diplo Program to anybody.

In short camp is a very special place where you can embrace the silliness, fun and engagement with the kids, so you all have the best summer of your lives. I loved my time sleeping under the stars, sporadic cotton eye joe routines, moments where innovation was crucial and bracing myself for the polar bear swims. I learned a lot about myself in this experience and loved meeting people in an international environment. I couldn't have been better prepared by the team, Evelyn, Patti P and Barry who trained our group to become the best teamers we could be. Not only that, but to cultivate the camp spirit and bring it to life!

This is a great way to immerse yourself in an international environment and work with children. I would highly recommend this if you have a passion for being outside, meeting new people, and most importantly supporting children with being outside and meeting new people! :)

I just spent 2 beautiful season in Walsrode. Enough time to make friends for life and experience the beauty of the people and the place. you ll spend day time doing sports of any kind, exploring the forest, building up fire and roasting marshmellows running around with kids and teamers all day but having so much fun. In all of this you ll get the time to know yourself and others, maybe around a camp fire or paddling in the lake, while playing beach volley or doing high ropes. Well is a good place to be

Camp for me has been a crazy experience! It was amazing to spend all day outside with diplos, teamers and kids. I loved doing the activities, connecting with people and making friends for life. There were also times, where there was much to none free time. And where one felt like it would get too much. It was still worth it going through that in order to experience all the other amazing stuff like campfires in the evening, trips with other staff members, game nights... If you love being outside, don't mind long worksdays and are someone that likes to socialise, then this programm really is for you.

I have worked at Camp Europe for six summers, since 2015, and will continue to come back. It is the experience of a lifetime where you can make friends from all over the world. I now have friends in so many countries that I love to visit and have them visit me in my home. It is truly an unforgettable experience and your friends "from home" will get so bored of all your stories about camp!!

Beeing a Diplo in Camping Adventure was the best thing i could have done as an internship for my university degree. I learned a lot about Outdoor Education and aquired heaps of certificates and qualifications. Working in an international team was a lot of fun and we always had somebody that reached out a hand when the going got rough.

I had the best time at the diploma program, I met and connected with so many likeminded people who love outdoors, sports, arts and teaching and helped me grow throughout the program in a way I did not expect I could. If you have any interest in outdoor education this is the program for you. Its a very international program (we had 10 different nationalities) so they help you get there and set up your stay for the duration of it. Workload gets tough on occasions but they make sure you are always having a good time and a good experience. I cannot stop recommending this place!

A great experience for everyone who is looking for a real challenge and personal development in an international environment. If you want to earn money with pre-set working hours this is not the right place for you!

I’ve just finished my second year working at camp and both years I’ve extended my placement cause I loved to so much. The days can be long and really tiring but you get the privilege of being surrounded by an awesome group of teamers from all over the world that will quickly become your best friends and get you through just about anything. I would definitely recommend this experience to anybody who’s passionate about outdoor education

This was my first summer with Camp Europe and originally I had hesitations about joining a program without knowing anyone but it ended up being the best decision I could’ve ever made for myself. Went in to this experience as a completely different person than who left. Being pulled outside of your comfort zone in such a safe and nurturing environment is an experience I would wish for everyone. The overall immersion and camp culture is what truly made this experience unforgettable. There’s not a single moment of loneliness or boredom. Days are filled with intense laughter and adventure.

I have worked at Camp Adventure for 4 years now. I started as a teamer in 2020 and planned on staying for 4 weeks. I loved it so much that I ended up staying for 10 weeks instead...and I kept coming back. I have made so many friends, a lot of them internationals from all over the world. I can definitely say that Camp has changed my life, it even made me rethink my future career and what I value in life. It showed me how much I love working with kids. It is so fulfilling to see that you have an impact on a kids life.

I have spent the past four summers at camp and I keep returning because of all the good vibes and fun work with kids, but mostly because of all the strangers, who turn into the closest group of friends within days. Camp truly is a special place for amazing young people from all around the world and I wouldn´t trade the memories I made there with anything! Also it is one of the best places for finding out what to do with your life apart from Camp, to grow, to learn about yourself and and to talk to camp-besties about all of it... 10/10 would recommend :)

Camp was the best time I’ve had in my life, the diversity of different nationalities and experiences from people is what made camp special, I was nervous going down but when the end came near I didn’t want to leave, can’t wait to go back in the near future

I didn't really know what I was getting into. Yes, I knew I would work with kids, learn some outdoor education related skills and have long workind days but it was so much more... Had conversations with people of all around the globe, access to unlimited campires, grew my comfort zone, learned that I can withstand long working days for weeks at a time, laugh more than I thought I could, get to connect with my inner child again. I recommend this to people that wanna grow as people woth all the interactions and potential co flicts that may rise when you share a space with strangers of all around the world.

During the 6 months of the diploma you learn different activities, tasks, games, etc to work with the kids but also everyday pushes you to learn more about yourself, your skills, to improve who you are as a leader, worker, friend. You arrive being someone and through all the diploma you find out and embrace your true self. So is a life changing experience in all the ways.

The Diploma holds it’s promise, you are gourmet to spend almost 90% of your time oudoors with people from all over the world. You’ll get more and more responsibilities and experiences throughout the time spent there. I’ve meet great people, had awesome experiences and grew a lot as a person.

I had the best time meeting and working with wonderful people, whilst broadening my horizons. I had originally planned to do 5 weeks at camp but stayed for 4 months. I will cherish the memories forever.

When I found Camp Europe I ended up quitting my job to go to Europe for the first time and it was the best decision I have ever made. Not only did I get to work and have fun with a bunch of enthusiastic children, but I met people from all around the world who will be friends for life. I loved it so much that I am coming back my second year for even longer to do the outdoor education diploma program!

Really great experience. Was hard in the beginning as it a first time for me. But as I learned how to deal with kids the experience grew and grew and Ive felt a great personal growth when I finished my tenth week (I was suppoused to stay 4). Would really recommwnd it, good people, good environment always and a way to achieve personal growth.

I have started as a junior camper in the camp in Walsrode and loved it, so I came back the next summer and the summer after that and so on... I participated in the Leadership program and the CIT program as well as being a teamer the last two years. I absolutely loved it every year again and it helped me in so many different ways for my life. It´s a special thing to work with kids in so many different ways but you will have a good time and provide the kids such a great time and they will give something back and it will be great! You will have to run different activities and sometimes help in kitchen and with other stuff but you will learn so many things and you will always get help if you need any. Try it out, you will love it.

It is one of best decisions you could make, more than a summer job it’s a summer experience, from “waking up” to “going backto bed” you feel the comfort of a friend and the heat of a family. theres a crazy vibe in the air that pulls you to be you. Teaching or playing you’re always learning, everyone is walking around with a smile from ear to ear and wearing the greatest attitude they have.

It was the best decision I ever made to apply for the 2021 diploma program. All the knowledge and learning I've had is inexplicable, not to mention the people I've met. People I hope to keep in touch with for the rest of my life. I can only say thanks for everything Camp Adventure has done for me and continues to do through the experience I had.

One of the best outdoor program Europe has to offer. Most probably, you'll end up with the best summer of your life. The program keeps you busy during the season but the memories that you would be making would last for a life time.

If you are looking for a summer that you will never forget, you are right there. Camp is a place where different people from very different countries come together and work together. The summer is exhausting and you have to be prepared to spend the whole summer at the camp - but the experience you gain there is definitely worth it! I was able to develop personally in the summer and decided to do a master’s degree in adventure- and experience education. Plus, the people and the work in the camp are something you've probably never had before, for example the Camp life, the cohesion of people who have never met before, the camp culture, the camp spirit ... It's all difficult to describe, you just have to experience it.

Not only did I find lifelong friends here that became family but I also gained a lot of experience in Outdoor Education and got a lot of international Certificates that'll for sure help me in my future jobs. To everybodys who's considering this Program, I can highly recommend! The people who work for Camp Europe know what they do and they're always there to support you. Hierarchy is nonexistent in camp. Everyone is treated the same. This place became my home and I'd do this program again if I could.

Doing the Diplo Outdoor Education program has truly changed my life. Not only do I now have friends from literally all parts of the world, but this program gave me the opportunity to truly learn and appreciate all types of people from all backgrounds. Along side making friends, this program pushed me outside of my comfort zone and made me accomplish tasks I didn't know I could. Ive learned things that I will never forget and things that will forever help me throughout my life no matter where I'm at in the world. By the end of the program, you leave with new knowledge, a family that will have your back and the greatest memories. I whole heartily advise anyone and everyone to do this program, you won't regret it.

I had a great time. People I met were fantastic. My experience as a role model was very gratifying. I enjoyed every day throughout the experience. Even the rainy days. During my time off I had a chance to travel and visit marvelous sites in Germany, England, Ireland, and then jumped to Spain and even made it to Morrocco.

I took part in the diploma program back in 2018 as a way to get out of my comfort zone and learn something new, while meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures. The program helped me learn a lot about myself and thought me how to work at a high standard in a professional setting. I found that change up between different camps and new tasks great, as it meant I had to sometimes adapt to the situations I was in. There were some hard days throughout the 6 months but I only have good memories of my year as a diplo. I ended up moving to Germany after the program and joined as part time staff for Camp Europe in 2019 which then developed into a full time position in summer of that year. The diploma program prepared me well for the challenges that arose throughout the years I worked there and I’ve made life long friends from it. My only regret is that I couldn’t take part in the program again.

I took part in the Diploma program in 2018, at the time I was about to turn 30. I had one of the most exciting, mind-blowing and life-changing experience of my life! In the 6 Months, I did and coached all sort of outdoor sports, activities, trips and so on...everything while sharing the time with my international Diplo family. Working with kids was intense but emotionally rich at the same time. Being there to guide somebody over his or her first climbing tree, or showing how to start fire in the wild it's priceless... The staff from Camp is the other big family, full of amazing people always there to support you. Doing my internship with Camp Europe was probably the best thing I could have done during Corona times. I started in April 2020 when there was a lockdown basically everywhere and we had the time of our life in Camp. We had something to do, where outside the whole time and where just a wonderful bunch of people, who I still hold close to my heart! Even if it was a different experience than previous years I can recommend it! If you want a challenging, sometimes stressful, fun, educational and amazing time with loads of different people this is the place.

Without a doubt the best 6 months of my life. I met friends for life and grew so much as a person! It’s the perfect environment to grow into the outdoor educator you want to be! I learned so much in the first training weeks and even more when the kids start arriving! It’s set in such a beautiful location it’s easy to get submerged in the outdoor camp lifestyle. All staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Overall I loved every minute!

I was a Diplo in 2020, which was the first Covid-19-Camp. You quickly become like a big family with all the other Diplos since you spend so much time together. The training is lots of fun and you'll gain so much experience in different areas of outdoor education. Summer camps are a handful and you will not know how you survived that with getting up early and going to bed late because the teamer campfire vibes are too good to leave early. But it's totally worth it! So if you're looking for a basic insight in outdoor education, this program could be for you.

Well, I haven’t been anywhere outside Egypt in a very long time, however, recently I’ve been on the best trip ever to Luxor and Aswan. It was one those spontaneous ideas that you come up with when you’re hanging out with your friends, and you end up actually doing it. We didn’t have much planned for this trip, but in a two week’s time we’ve hotel rooms and plane tickets and we were ready to go. I loved the fact that we were just going to take a plane to our destination and then work around the days as it goes. For me this was a new experience, because I usually like to plan everything ahead so I don’t miss out on anything; this trip was sort of an adventure to me. This ended up being one the best trips I’ve ever been to! I got to try all sorts of new things and most of them were just things that we decided to do right on the spot. One of the things that weren’t planned for was going to a small village in Aswan and staying there for the day. We just overheard some people at the lobby talking about this village and we said why not! We were greeted by the families as if we were some old friends of theirs. The hospitality was unbelievable! Some invited us for tea and others insisted on inviting us over lunch. We made a bunch of fun activities with them that included painting some walls with all the beautiful vibrant colors, and of course there was dancing and singing too. It was one of my favourite days because I like knowing new people and making new friends from all sorts of backgrounds. Being the person who likes to plan things ahead and look for interesting things to do, I did my little research and found many activities to do and all sorts of monuments to visit in both Luxor and Aswan. One of the most memorable adventure we planned for was a Nile River cruise. However, my top favourite and the one I found out about after doing a little research and asking around was the hot air balloon. We decided to take a hot air balloon very early one morning to watch the sunrise from above. I was somewhat afraid of the idea of being hanging in the air with just a flame helping us float, but I got over this idea very quickly when I saw the breath taking view. I enjoyed every minute of it, and I would definitely do it all over again sometime. Overall, this was a very memorable trip, not only that I had fun, but I got explore a new side of Egypt that I don’t get to see or experience in our very busy and noisy lives in Cairo metropolitan. I like getting out of my comfort zone and challenging myself. The fact that this trip was based on an impulsive decision, made it the perfect chance for me to explore a new side of my personality and capabilities.

I have worked for Camp Europe for the past 2 summers and have had the most incredible experiences. My first year I was a teamer, primarily with the junior camp, and spent my days playing with cute kids and making friends from around the world. In my second year, I helped run school trips, became a leadership director, and a senior camp director. Camp Adventure encourages their staff members to grow and be challenged with new experiences. I worked closely with the diplomas and was amazed by the advanced outdoor education skills they acquire in just 6 months. The best part of this program is that you can arrive with just a one way ticket to Germany, not knowing anyone, and you will leave camp with dozens of new friends that you travel the world with. I don't know any German, and it has never been an issue for me, as everyone here speaks english. CA holds a special place in my heart and I will forever treasure my time here. See you next summer!

When I spontaneously applied for Camp Adventure in 2016, I had no idea what to expect, but the experience I have had since then has been more amazing than anything I could have possibly imagined. In my first summer, I was a teamer. My responsibilities running activities (such as archery, canoeing, survival, creative), taking care of my tent group, and helping out with any background jobs that needed doing. The days were packed, there was always so much to be done, but you're surrounded by such an amazing team of crazy people from all over the world, every task becomes fun. I think my favourite memory from that year was sitting by the campfires in the evening and laughing every single night about the ridiculous, mad things that had happened that day- there was such a sense of community spirit that made it so special. The year after, I was invited back to run the leadership programme at camp, which was really cool. It involved working with 15-17 year olds and helping develop their confidence to become better leaders. It also included a 72 hour hike, which taught me a lot about my own abilities to motivate both myself and others- something I had never really reflected on before my time in camp, but has now proven invaluable when applying for jobs in the "real world". After that, I progressed to Camp Director, where I responsible for managing a team of new teamers. I had such a brilliant experience myself as a teamer, I want to be able to make sure other staff have the same. This role is definitely the most challenging I have faced, but that is another reason I love camp- each day you are challenged in new ways. You discover a resilience you never knew you had; creative solutions to problems you'd never think you'd be able to come up with. To summarise, I love the environment Camp Adventure has built up. It's a place where you can push yourself and step out of your comfort zone, with the most supportive team behind you. You learn so much about yourself, that you otherwise may never have discovered. But I think most importantly, you meet such a brilliant, diverse group of people, who you talk to, learn from and laugh with, that it makes this experience so unbelievably unique. I will look back fondly on my time at Camp Adventure for the rest of my life.

The 6 months I had spent with Camp Adventure was a total blast! I was blown away from how much you can actually learn from this program. I really enjoyed the training months in the beginning of the program, you are placed with 17 -20 others that are there for the same reason as you. You get to learn so much about the company, about how things work behind the scenes and you meet 100's of new people. Yes 100's, from all over the world. I find it to be one of the coolest aspects of camp life. For me, I never had any previous work experience with children and I was not 100% sure about this but I took the leap of faith and went for it and I learned so more about myself this summer than I have the last 5 years! I learned I actually enjoy working with kids and learned some strengths and weaknesses of mine. The summer months, "the high season" is hard, it is extremely long hours, no time off during then, you work from when you wake up to going to bed. You will have 7 day weeks where you work 100 hours and I find this such a fantastic challenge. It's times like this where you really get to put your training to the test and challenge yourself. Another awesome thing about this program is you have a really good opportunity to learn German. I mean after all you are in Germany and will be working with German kids and German teamers, etc. All in all, it's a great opportunity to be in Europe, to travel, to work in Germany, to learn a LOT of new skills and really learn a lot about yourself. If you are thinking of doing this like I was a bit hesitant but just go for it and see what kind of year you will have! You will not regret it.

The 2019 Diploma program was my second year with Camp Europe and it will not be my last. I learned invaluable work, social, and life skills that would've taken years to collect in "traditional life". I had a variety of work placements... Teamer, High Ropes Manager, Camp Director, "Food&Beverage"/Cook, in multiple locations including three in Germany and (my all-time favorite) one in Spain. With time-off and amazing people you met from all over the world, I've traveled to 18 new cities this season and 12 last season within 9 European countries. I am SO grateful for this experience and would recommend it to all who are looking for something immersive, challenging, and dynamic. This program is different for everyone, but I got the most out of it by making lessons out of everything- good and bad, and taking it all day by day- keeping perspective when things seem out of hand. If you're interested in more detail, here is some program specifics: In 2018, I signed up as a teamer on a whim. I wanted to work internationally and be in an outdoor setting to work with kids and in education. I signed up for 2.5 months and stayed for 4; I could not get enough. I was working as a teamer/counselor and had three different camp placement in the north, west, and south of Germany. By September of 2018, I was signed up for the 2019 Diploma because I wanted to have more time in the place I quickly learned so much about myself. The people I met... The best. If you are attracted to this program, think of the values and (it might not seem like it but) courage it takes to sign up for something like this. Majority of the team you work with share a core of open-mindedness, humor, and dedication to knowing more about the world they live in through travel, education, and human connection. It brings a great, always-interesting group of people together. The place you live... In 2019, we built our village up and called it Ohana. The Diplomas stay all together in the back corner of Walrsode campground. Everyone has their own space, either in a caravan or a container, to make their own. My caravan felt so much like home when I left... It was hard to say goodbye. The campfires, barbecues, and unforgettable moments we shared in Ohana will always stay with me. It's not a five-star hotel.. Maybe not even four, or three...... Or two. But if you are willing to try something new, you won't regret it. Finally, the things you do... Being from a big city in the US, a lot of the things diplomas get trained in was a treat for me. High ropes, canoe/kayak, lifeguarding, archery- These are not my everyday, but I felt like I got a general training in all of them to be a good, safe intrcutor for the groups coming to Walsrode. Also, you also get the chance to work in the kitchen, maintain camp grounds, and maybe even direct/work logistics if that's what you are interested in. There is always work to do- and always something to learn from it. Outside of work, the camp traditions and games will keep the days lively and bond your group. There's never a dull moment at Camp Adventure. I miss it already and wish all the best to future Diplos! Ohana forever.

I’ve been a camp counsellor with Camp Europe for two years now, and the reason I keep coming back is the amazing environment created by the kids, the teamers and the directing team at camp. Don’t get me wrong it can be tough, you are expected to work hard, whether it be with the kids or in the kitchen or around camp, and sometimes late into the night which can leave you feeling exhausted. But there’s a such a special energy at camp which always makes you feel that you are a valued member of the team and the positive energy which is everywhere keeps you motivated. Since being at camp I’ve had the opportunity to come out of my shell, meet people who I now consider friends for life from around the globe, work with some amazing and hilarious kids and travel with awesome teamers at the same time. I’ve been to several of the different camps, in Germany and Spain, and worked with awesome people at each one. The training week is fantastic and such a great opportunity to learn all about camp whilst having fun. I would recommend Camp Europe to anyone who wants to get out of their comfort zone a little, have fun and have an unforgettable summer.

The whole experience, from the big till the small details has marked me. As part of the program, a big range of activities and duties are waiting for you. "Are youuuu ready?" If I would describe the experience in one word I choose "Challenging".

I was hoping to learn a little about Camp Adventure and they taught me much more, from things as simple as treating a child with nostalgia to the right way to bandage, I learned German, Russian, Arabic and even learned that it is not. No matter where people come from, what matters is the size of the heart, I lived on both sides of the Adventure Camp, day with the children and nights with the teachers, I realized that without realizing it I can get to impact people , Children I did not know who knew me, the Teamers I had not worked with had heard of me, even the CIT greeted me as if they knew me! and it wasn't until Kadda explained to me that the vibrations I transmit are very pleasant, Ruth (teacher) told me the same thing several times, even Big Jean mentioned it. Simply put, I learned that I transmit more than I can see, teamwork is not easy but it is amazing and I can bear the responsibility of up to 25 children in Heide Park.

I really appreciate the chances Camp offers to create a very nice time like this summer. I have never imagined that I could work in a very young and active international environment, making new friends and having chances to travel (in my case, Germany and Spain) were just perfect. All the kids are funny and all the activities are very interesting. However, I don't want to talk much about what great of camp because everybody knows it, and trust me I really love it. There are still some managements disadvantages. First, I think the living condition of teamers were quite bad, the tents were broken, ripped off and in reality, one tent of teamer collapsed after a heavy rain. Moreover, I think camp did not provide enough supervision on each teamer which sometimes created misunderstanding or wrong assumption about each teamer. Some teamers worked really hard in silence but no one knows while some teamers are very funny and always take all the spot but they don't do anything, or at least, they don't co-operate with their partner teamer and tend to play with their own peer group. I mean everyone in camp are amazing and did such wonderful jobs but I just hope they would received a proper consideration rather than a quick assumption. In addition, I think some camp directors did not do a good jobs in organizing program schedule, sometimes they always wait until the last minute to tell teamer the plan and sometimes we are assigned tasks without being asking, which, in my opinion, is very confusing and no team work. Not only about personal feeling but this might also cause seriously negative consequences to kids and all teamers, which affect to camp's brand image since there was no thorough plan. I really hope in next year, we can receive a better and proper plan in advanced and we should be informed in case of any change. In general, like I said, I have learned and improved a lot from Camp. Thank you very much and I'd love to see you again next year.

This summer was very different for me, honestly it was out of this world I loved it! One of the best things about it is meeting so many people from around the world and to get this much of an experience with being a counselor and having so many responsibilities that really changed me and last but not least nature life is TRULY AMAZING! Downside of all this is how much time we get to ourselves and to rest during camp days I really loved the experience but I would have put much much more effort and energy into all activities and relationships if I had time for myself to rest and boost up my energy again for the rest of the summer and If I had that I would have stayed much more!

Hello everybody! It was my first year in the camp and, all in all, it was a great experience. One of the best things about camp is the training week when you can see the daily camp life as a camper. It gives you an idea of how the camp works and what is expected from you as a counselor. Plus, there are psychology/law classes where you learn how to solve different problems that may appear while working with kids and teenagers. And that is great if it’s your first time as a camp counsellor! Moreover, the atmosphere is great, you can always ask for help when needed, and there is no strict separation between staff and administration, so no need to stress out while talking to your boss;) Another great advantage is multicultural community! Not just people from European countries, but truly multicultural team with people from all over the world. It brings diversity of thought in the camp routine and gives a nice opportunity to make lots of new friends. The camp life, as everything, has its minuses such as no work-and-life balance. Everybody who comes there should be prepared to give all their energy to kids. It can be super exhausting and in the end of a day you usually can’t feel your limbs, but it is also very rewarding. All the energy that kids share with you, their emotions from doing smth new, visiting new country, making new friends, all of these makes you want to wake up early every day and work till the very night. All in all, Camp Adventure is a great place to experience smth new, go out of your comfort zone and see that you are able of much more than you think. I would definitely recommend it for everyone who wants their summer to be unforgettable!

This diploma was one of the best things that I ever did! Beginning in the cold winter, getting to know your diploma-family and going through the training together was an amazing time! It was a time to learn, to bond and just having a lot of fun together. You get really close very fast, which made it all super special. Of course there are times where you are tired, because the days are long and exhausting sometimes, but because you have all these precious and cool people around you, it's all worth it! And in summer you get to know even more cool people and you're having a crazy time which you'll never forget. It was very hard for me leaving the Shire, the people and to realize that 6 wonderful months went over like nothing. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in adventure, kids, working outside and becoming a part of a big family :)

Six long months in the camp. So different from "normal" life. Like living in the cushy bubble, on the green island, far away from the city rhythm. For the first 3 months of internship You have Your little place on the Earth (Vethem Camp / Shire) and small group of people around You who become Your camp family very quickly. You eat, sleep, work and clean up together. You learn new things, have a lot of fun and dig into a hole together. And after this time You realize how hard it is to leave these people and place for summer season and go to the other camps. But You go somewhere else and... You meet the other great people and You bond very quickly. And over and over again. That's the real magic of Camp Adventure. It was long 6 months of living Diplo life. Hard working (sometimes 18 hours per day), sometimes being extremely tired, not having time for Yourself. Being far away from home and family. Facing different dilemmas. But...It was worth it. For all these moments of happiness, laughing, having a lot of fun. For all the beautiful people, friendships, kindness and positive energy You get from them. For the most beautiful sky full of stars above the camp. For everyday campfires which smell stays with You for a long time (Your hoodie knows what I mean). For all the sincere conversations and moments of silence. For learning new skills, sharing experiences, discovering a lot about Yourself and the other people. Camp Europe is a fantastic place to meet new people from countless countries spread across the world, to experience things that normally would be unthinkable and finally to develop yourself. Rarely does one find the occasion to go somewhere in Europe and take care of children while also teaching them English while surrounded by a wonderful community. You find that with the well-organized camp system and the kids themselves, you change in time while not believing your eyes that you're doing so. You also get the chance and the help to travel a lot. If you want to do things that you've dreamt of, or that you've not even thought about, and wanting to see your life in a different way - then don't just read my words, absorb the experience!

This was a fantastic experience - one that I would recommend to any and all people who are at all interested in working with kids or working outdoors. Despite being one of the most tiring things anyone could do, it was all worth every second of working with great teamers, great kids, and in great places!

I was able to experience an international summer camp that was flexible yet structured. I learned a lot and met a ton of great people. It was great being able to instruct and participate in various outdoor activities and sports.

If you are not afraid of long hours and camping conditions then you would love working with Camp Europe. Its a truly rewarding experience and i have already decided to go back next year. The staff and other volenteer are awesome and the atmosphere is amazing. I loved every second of it even the lack of technology and shower time. Its all worth it for the rustic camp feel if you are in those places. Or if you are in the nicer indoor accomodation camps then you get the awesome pumped up feelling of camp with the convieniences of home.

I think that when you do a work abroad experience you notice that you are in a place where you don't know what comes next. This was the perfect way to transition from one job to another. This was the best way to transition from one culture to anther. It is no walk in the park, and it will push you to new limits, but ultimately I think you not only come out with a new outlook on life but also a readiness to get started on your next step.

At first, I was a but sceptical about going to Germany by myself to be a part of a program no one near had ever heard of; however, it has been one of the greatest decisions of my life. The other teams/participants are fun, kind, and truly amazing people. It is a lot of long days and hard work; however, you have so much fun and support through the summer that you don't even realize. The company is GREAT with helping you before, during, and after placements and they are readily available and eager to help you if needed. By the end of the summer, you truly find yourself and you form a whole new family (which makes it sad when you leave.) This camp not only provides you with the food, housing, etc., but it gives you a new sense of self, a new family, great memories, and an experience of a life time. I'm just counting down the day until I'm able to go back!

I’ve been a teamer at camp Europe for 2 years and I’ve loved every second of it! The people you meet are amazing and like-minded, and everyone is so open and friendly and there to have fun. The activities are always fun and you are constantly moving and busy so there is never a dull moment. I’ve been to camps in Walsrode, Newcastle and Bath and all were very different! Meeting kids from all over Europe is fantastic and probably one of my favourite parts of camp. As a teacher back home in Canada, I’ve taken a lot from my camp experience and used it to better my practice. Get ready for a summer of fun and new experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life!

As intense as this experience was, it was worth it. I've met fantastic people and made incredible new memories. The hard work you put in is beneficial in the end. You're skills are put to the test but you learn to handle them and to manage your time efficiently. You have fun doing what you do and seeing the kids enjoy themselves makes it good and exciting for you too.

It has been one of the best experiences of my live, but also one of the hardest. The chance of knowing people from ALL OVER THE WORLD and making not only good friends but also a family is the key point of my adventure in the camp. You improve your English everyday, and your German if you want as well. Besides you can adquire many skills of communication and working in team that will be useful for the rest of your life. In my opinion, there should be less activities organized everyday, allowing kids to have free time and teamers to relax because it is exhausting for both sides. Definitely I would highly recommend to enjoy the experience.

Volunteering with Camp Europe was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I had the summer of my life and wish I’d done it sooner. Have been to Kenya and the UAE lately and had the experience of assisting a group on excursion. I was also part of the group but played a role in assisting. The experience was a great one and I did enjoy it. I am a very hardworking and diligent individual, thats always ready to learn and to work. Partaking in this program will further boost my skill and productivity.

What an opportunity to find yourself amidst diverse culture and learning environment. Personally, I had a unique opportunity of traveling to Germany to explore and learn cultural diversity and skills in an experiential education format. My sincere thanks to the management for going that extra mile to get me on board for this six months diploma program. This outdoor and experiential education diploma gave me a chance to meet and make friends from different nationalities across the globe. It helped me to learn and implement various outdoor technical and facilitation skills in a fun filled and positive learning outdoor environment. The number of campers and Outdoor instructors who keep going back to the camp is a testimony to the camps credibility to make it a highly fun filled working environment. The ratings are difficult to give due to it being extremely special. Days are hard but rewarding and of course you mainly sleep in tents because it is a camp. But these really don't matter because the whole atmosphere is so great. You can even see the founder of the organization often around the camp, that's how close knit everything is! I made some great friends and learned so much about kids and how to work with them.

I spent last summer laughing, hiking, meeting people from all around the world and spending time with the amazing campers. I was nervous at first because it was my first time visiting Europe but the coordinators are great at communicating with you before camp.What I find impressive is the number of camps located everywhere in Europe. It's a great opportunity to travel to different parts of Germany and different countries around Europe all while being supported by the staff. The camp is also very accommodating when it comes to food options. The chef is talented and hilarious and makes vegan dishes every day. I completely fell in love with camp which is why I'll be coming back this summer :)

A truly great experience, well worth the time. First learning and developing a vast range of valuable outdoor and indoor skills, practical or otherwise, and then putting them into action in a variety of places with a variety of people, learning, teaching and enjoying life/ Through this Diploma, I got to see, experience and work in a multitude of places, mainly in, but also outside of Germany. But above all it is the lifelong friendships you develop that make this Outdoor Education Diploma and Camp Adventure so worthwhile and such a great way to see the world.

Working as a "diploma" for camp europe is one of the best experiences I have ever had. Before doing this program I had worked for Camp Europe as a summer teamer before and loved it. But being a summer teamer doesn't even compare to how amazing being a diploma is. Because the group of people you work with during the Diploma is relatively small, you get to make real life long friendships with people from all over the world. Due to the fact that the group was quite small I felt safe and comfortable to be myself because I new the people around me would support me and help me if I failed. There is no denying that the days are long and tiring but this is when you learn most about yourself and how you actually handle things when push comes to shove. I have recently returned home to New Zealand and am in training for a new office based job and it wasn't until I looked around the room at everyone being to scared to answer a question or present something to the group that I realised how much I changed and how much confidence I gained by being at camp. I will forever be grateful to everyone at Camp Europe for giving me the opportunity to be part of their team. If it was viable, I would come back every year.

I am from the United States, but the online application, interview, onboarding, and trainings were all very organized. Because of the planning ahead of time, I was able to go to my assigned summer camp location feeling nervous but prepared and supported by the other staff! I had so much fun because I felt prepared and stress free allowing me to focus on connecting with the kids rather than focusing on procedures.

I loved working at Camp Europe; it is an experience that I will never forget. I live in American and because of this program, I was able to live and work in Europe while also having time between job placements to travel. I have also made some amazing friends from around the world. The training session is very rigorous but fun! The placement team was amazing at listening to my wants and matching me with job placements, I always felt heard and supported. I highly recommend Camp Europe.

Although very stressful at times, I really enjoyed my time here. I met a lot of cool people from around the world and would come back. the days were long and it was a lot of hard work with little to no break but it was worth it. I worked as an English language coach. I had signed up to be one but I actually had more fun just being a regular camp counselor. The camp food is very good but for me was repetitive. If I hadn't already been given a full time job this summer I would have definitely gone back.

This was the first time I had ever considered doing anything that involved travelling alone and staying away from home in a foreign country for a long time and I am so glad I chose Camp Europe to do it with! As a first time traveller I was understandably nervous but the people and the environment were so helpful and supportive that all my fears washed away. I had the best time working with Camp Europe and I am definitely doing it again next season!

Doing the 6 Month Diploma with Camp Europe was one of the best experiences of my life and I do not regret it at all. Meeting a lot of wonderful people and gaining a lot of Experience while working with kids and also getting an inside look of the organisation of Camp was great and I would do it again if I could! You get to work in so many different positions with people from all over the world, every age and culture! I love Camp!

In 2010, google led me to Camp Europe while searching for a new adventure for my summer holidays. I was a little apprehensive since I didnt speak any German, but it all worked out fine - besides - as I found out very quickly, you can communicate anything with a little help from your hands and feet!! I enjoyed the few weeks I spent at camp so much, that I have more or less spent my whole summer living in a forest every year since! I have worked in Camps in Ireland, Germany and the UK, and I have now lost count of how many camp sessions I have done over the last 7 summers!! Working at Camp Adventure has taught me a lot, not only about myself, but life skills as well: Leadership; Teamwork skills; Communication and its importance; How to get out of my comfort zone and push myself to try new things; Problem solving with creative solution; To be spontaneous, creative and sometimes a little crazy (because we all need a little bit of crazy in our lives); and MOST IMPORTANTLY... how to dance like no one is watching and not care! It is very difficult to try and summarise the experience you get - it is pretty unique. You get to meet people from all across the planet. You make new friends, who see you at your best and worst - and get it!! You share your meals everyday with people from dozens of different countries. You dance. You sing. You make up a new sport and teach it to 30 kids! You spend your days surrounded by staff and kids with so much energy, you cant help but be full of energy too- even when you are exhausted. You can do sports, arts & crafts, teach, run your own program, cook and have a huge waterfight all in one day. You get to go hiking and sleep under the stars!! The days are long, the work is hard at times, but the people make it the most unforgettable experience you could ask for!! You work hard and play hard - but where else would you get to: spend your morning on the beach, your afternoon hanging out in the trees on a Highropes course, your evenings exploring the forest and end your day around the fire with friends? I can't wait to see what the 2017 season has in store!!!

What I expected from the Internship was to spend lots of time outdoors and work with people and especially kids from many different cultures. Afterwards i can say that I got so much more than that. The work in camp is a good way to test out your strengths, get to know your personal weaknesses and work on them. I personally enjoyed the most leading the high ropes course or taking care of food and logistics. It makes you take over responsibility and improve the own time management. Yes, a day in camp can be quiet long at times but you will recognize that even after the most exhausting day, a few minutes at the camp fire before sleep can keep the stress away and make you wake up with a smile and new energy every day!

I spent a summer at Camp Adventure in 2015 and it truly changed my life and inspired me to commence my Masters in Education (Primary Teaching) when I got home to Australia. I made so many amazing friends from all over the world and have already visited friends from camp in Spain, Ireland, England and California. I made life long friends at camp. The camp itself was an extremely fun time, we have a lot of freedom with planning the activities (I was an English coach) and it taught me a lot about behaviour management and keeping kids engaged - which has helped me with my teaching courses back home. I hope to spend another summer at camp in the next few years :)

The program itself is great, but the administration and senior staff could be unorganized and that made some important situations stressful. I would 100% do this program again! Just be prepared to move sites on short notice and be open to supreme schedule flexibility. Everyone I encountered was extraordinarily friendly and I made lifelong friends through the program. If you're an adventurous human being by nature, this program is for you.

Camp Europe is definitely something you should have done in your life! I can't think of doing something else during my summer holidays anymore. I don't want to miss a single camp summer anymore! You get to know people from all over the world, you work with them day and night and you don't get mad of camp because it's such an amazing atmosphere. It's awesome to see kids and teamers from so many different nations working, playing and learning together from each other in the middle of nowhere in a forest in Bavaria. It never gets boring, there are always frogs to catch or fires to light. You can teach kids so many things but you can also learn from them. It's just an amazing combination of working with kids and getting to know the other teamers at during work but also at night at the campfire. Camp even inspired me to study for being a teacher in a few years because I enjoyed the work with the kids so much. But to get to know camp, you have to try it yourself!

Camp is rewarding in many facets, but the two that stand out to me are challenging yourself in a new and somewhat intimidating environment (a foreign country looking after strangers' children), and meeting many like-minded international people (and Germans, of course, who are very welcoming). Logistically, a lot of details were subject to change quickly and at the last minute, but this also allowed for a valuable flexibility that I think is wholly beneficial. Some who crave absolute adherence to structure were left a little stressed from what I could tell, though.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Camp Europe. The training is a lot of fun and it is enjoyable working with like minded and multicultural people. I would recommend doing the summer camps. It is hard work BT is rewarding.

I have worked with camp europe for the past three summers. The way the camps are run gives you so much freedom to how you run the programme so there is lots of room for creativity. My favourite thing about camp europe is the people you meet. You get the opportunity to live and work with people from all over the world who you get very close with them very quickly. Every year I have travelled after camp with new teamers I have met that year. I am currently travelling in Canada with people I met at camp and staying with people I met at camp. There is always a couch to sleep on from fellows teamers anywhere you go in the world.

Being a camp counselor here was a great experience. Hard work, but I met a ton of amazing people from all over the world. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone. The days are long hours and hard work but in the end it is worth it.

I've been a camp counselor twice and still want to come back next summer. It somehow makes you addictive. For several reasons I must say. You get to know people from almost all over the world, you experience a life without digital devices, you see happy faces every day (and night), you get to know children from different social levels, you can learn from more mature people as well as from children, if you don´t have English as your mother tongue you will improve your English or other second languages, you get an insight of different cultural traditions, you improve your organizing skills, etc. I definitely would recommend you Camp Europe if you like to spend the summer with crazy people and children in the nature.

I like to think about a saying that came to me during a camp session: "And at the end of the days your hair should be messy, your feet dirty and your eyes sparkling." Well thats something i probably experienced every night. The days were tiring, no question. We got up super early and went to bed way after midnight. There was not much time I spent by myself doing any kinds of leisure activities I used to do at home. And there were times I questioned myself what I am doing - for example when I saw us preparing the camp ground and building huts in the mid of march when it was freezing cold outside, doing a high ropes training in hail, messing up dinner for 200 kids and cleaning the kitchen during high season until midnight. But those were the moments when I grew. I learned to know my strength, but figured out that there were quite a few weaknesses as well. I improved my english, got more comfortable in leading groups and learned to deal with stressful situations. I got to know people with complete dissimilar backgrounds. They showed me to see life from diverse perspectives and to deal with it differently. And I learned to enjoy quality time for the best. There were way to many of those quality moments to retell all of them. I definitely had quite a few of them during the hikes we went on with the kids. During those hikes we slept on fields and in forests and cooked an outdoor meal over the fire. Unforgettable to me is especially a 120km hike to the ocean, which we accomplished with seven teenagers without eating. Neither will I forget the morning we watched the sunrise from the peak of a mountain in Austria. Or all the great nights at the camp fire, when we were playing guitar and silly games and watched the Australian dancing like aborigines. To make it short, I wouldn’t want to have missed any second of it. But it’s probably something you have to experience by yourself.

This was the highlight of my summer vacation. Learned a lot, had fun and met many awesome new friends. Highly recommended for those who love taking care of children, sports, outdoor adventures and going camping.

Its up to you, if you will survive in a good way or in a bad way. After all, i survived in a good way because i was ready to be a part of this crazy team and summer :D I could develop different skills, in different fields. There are to great points: first of all, i could improve my english and the second point is, that i met so many people form many different countries and cultural backgrounds and this kind of mixture made my summer :)

Different than expected but especially because of the climbing skills I gained and the many friendships that grew up worth the time. Personally I got a lot more confidence in speaking English and leading groups. One thing you will definitely learn is wing things just as they come and stay relaxed no matter how chaotic a situation gets.

This was my 6th year with Camp Europe. I wouldn't spend my whole summer in camp, if it wouldn't be an amazing experience. While friends go on holidays or traveling together, I asked myself every time I go into the forest: "Why am I going to work the whole summer again?" But then, as soon as I get picked up at the train station and switch my brain into the english language, the camp spirit comes over me and I know the answer: cause summer with Camp Europe means loads of fun, campfire every night, great new (and old) friendships with people from all over the world and at least one surprise every day. Even after some summers with CE, I am still not used to wake up early, but the atmosphere in camp keeps you going day for day. There will be moments where you are full of energy and happiness, but there are as well those moments, where you wish to be at the other end of the world or just out of camp.. but my experience showed me, that, however you feel, you are more than welcome to just be yourself in camp. And what makes me really happy to see every year is, that counselors make great friendships and have "reunions" even after weeks somewhere over the world. Camp with all the good and bad points is definitely a time in my year, I do not want to miss.

I have been to camp for two years now and both times I had the best time of my life. I have met so many great people and learned so much in my time here. It starts with a great training program, which has over 100 different people from over 20 different countries, who you end up making great friends with and takes away the awkward get to know you phase when camp officially starts. I have been to camps in Ireland, Neuburg, Josofen and Bitburg and they all offer different and amazing things to learn such a high ropes, canoeing and kayaking, dancing, sports and a lot more. A lot of the things I have done here I only learned for the first time at camp as well and to get to pass this on to the campers is great as well. I highly recommend this program to everyone who is enthusiastic as it will be the best time of your life and you will learn so much and meet some new amazing people.

Camp Europe was a great summer experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back next year. This was a great opportunity to work with children in a variety of capacities, from a huge range of backgrounds. Not only did I have the opportunity to teach them English, they in turn taught me so much about their cultures and languages. I loved the opportunity to engage with the other counselors as well, collaborating with our different experiences and cultures as well. Although a bit disorganized, it provides a great opportunity for independence, improvisation, and thinking and planning on the spot.

If you enjoy kids and being outdoors, join Camp Europe. It's exhausting but rewarding. You'll meet people you'll love and push yourself farther than you thought possible. It's an experience you'll never forget.

Would highly recommend working with Camp Europe- truly amazing summer in Bitburg! I had the opportunity to work both with the English language camp and the Adventure Camp program. In addition to a great work experience, I met some truly wonderful friends and coworkers.

I had a really great overall experience and made some really great friends! Sometimes organisation could have been better and things could've been cleaner (in regards to the kitchen) but overall I had a wonderful time!

Well, the summer experience started fantastically. I landed in Amsterdam, 3 days later took the train to Berlin where I enjoyed of so many great museums and such an upbeat nightlife, and later went to beautiful Hamburg to finish off with my pre-placement traveling. Next, i showed up at the training where i met people from 23 different countries, all of them looking for sort of the same experience: spending the summer months working at a natural environment, doing fun activities and performing as a role model for children and youth. Those 10 days were pretty intense and quite exhausting, but really worth-while, as we got to learn a lot from all the different workshops, and from sharing and listening to everyone's experiences and backgrounds. When I started my placement as a Language coach, i was starting to feel comfortable and bonding with my campers, when I sadly got a bad news from home, and had no option to leave the program and support my family in such bad moments. The senior staff at camp were very understanding of my personal situation and helped me out in every aspect. It was very sad I had to cut short my placement and travels. Nonetheless, I am confident I will get a chance to go back next year.

I really loved camp! I was admittedly kind of terrified when I got there though. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But it was a great experience in the end. I would definitely do it again.

I was really looking forward to take part in this program, mainly due to the fact that it perfectly combines my 3 biggest passions> Traveling, Nature, and Teaching. I am a grade 5 Canadian Teacher who enjoys having 2 month off during the summer, and normally spend the month of July at my family's cottage in Northern ontario (surrounded by nothing more than lakes and forest) and the month of August I embark towards a different world destination. Well, last summer, I got to do the 2 months, working with children, in a natural environment, at a very international atmosphere camp in Europe. Spent 4 weeks there as a Language coach at 2 different campsites (Ireland and Germany) and 4 more weeks traveling around in the company of great friends I met there during training and throughout my placement. Long story short, all aspects of my summer adventure went beyond my expectations.

I was looking for a camp to work at this past summer: I like working with children and being outdoors, plus was looking for a way to make a summer of traveling a bit cheaper. I had never experienced this type of situation before, and was expecting a challenging, interesting, fun experience. Camp Europe was all of this and more. I don't have any experience to compare this against, but here are my impressions: The training was helpful and thorough. The staff and support are top notch. The camp site where I was assigned was cozy and comfortable enough. The kids were from various parts of Europe, North America, and Asia and were a ton of fun and well-behaved for the most part. The days were long and challenging, but tons of fun and always passed quickly. The food was unexciting but adequate. My fellow staff at the camp was mostly bright, caring, thoughtful, high-energy, impressive, young individuals. Overall, my experience was very positive. I wasn't quite sure what to expect out of my first camp experience of any type, but knew it would be challenging and mind-expanding. One of the themes of the camp was challenging the children to push their limits. I definitely pushed mine and was able to do more than I thought I was capable of. It was an unforgettable summer in Bavaria filled with adventure and wonderful people of all ages.

I arrived in the airport in Hamburg on a hot June day with no expectations and barely a clue about what I had signed myself up for when I accepted the terms and conditions of the job “Teamer (Camp Counselor) at Camp Europe in Walsrode, Deutschland.” After wandering about and feeling a quite lost, I was drawn to a group of mismatched and equally clueless young adults under the golden arches of McDonald’s -- the universal meet-up point in any airport, it seems -- and threw my backpack onto the growing pile of bags, shoes, ukuleles and water bottles. I would be stuck with this group of 150 energetic, scatterbrained, wild-spirited, intelligent, and international dirtbags for the next two weeks, (and some the whole summer) as we completed intense teamer training sessions during the day and intense teamer hang out sessions at night. In those two weeks, I made friends with people from as far away as India, Bolivia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand and as close as Ireland, Germany, and England. To quote my journal from those days back when I was still a recent scholarly graduate, “It was not a clash of cultures but rather a celebration of vibrant diversity.” The days of training were packed. We learned to cook for large groups in the industrial camp kitchen and we ate the meals together in the giant dining tent. We got lifeguard and first aid certified and as an assistant high ropes instructor I was shown the ins and outs of the camp’s zip line, giant swing, climbing tree and giant ladder. That week we learned how to handle group dynamics, bullying, homesickness, and liability, we were shown how to lead team building and camp games and how to pick kids up from airports and train stations nearby (who cares if you don’t speak the language or know the area!). We all slept in canvas platform tents and took “power showers” together in the group showers (if there was time). At night, we went swimming in the lake and then warmed up with free “teamer Milch” (beer) and a campfire in the camp Yurta or out under the stars. Then camp actually started and we learned a new meaning for the words busy and tired… A typical day at camp: 7:30 – Roll out of bed and into your shoes if you are leading a morning sport (please no Polar Bear Club!) for youngsters who cannot sleep when the sun is up (yes, it starts to get light before 5 am in the summer and kids will wander about, play basketball loudly, or get into other shenanigans). 8:00 – Scramble to wake up your tent group (a group of 5-9 kids you are completely in charge of all week) if you overslept or were leading a morning sport or wanted to take a shower or you simply forgot to wake them up earlier. 8:00 – Breakfast. Run across camp, urging your groggy kids to go faster as you hear the “Camp Song” playing and try not to be late so that there will still be spoons left for cereal. 9:00 – Sigh with relief as morning activities start and you can say goodbye to your tent group for a bit. And then accept the wave of new kids who you are in charge of for the next activity. 9:00 – 12:00 – Lead kids through knot tying, belaying techniques or how to wear a harness and then act calm and try to keep them from hurting themselves as they take their lives in their little hands and belay each other up and down the courses. Whew! 12:30 pm – Lunch. Hope that the whole tent group shows up to the “Camp Song” and that you don’t have to run around camp looking for them or wait with a whining, hungry group of youngsters until the group is complete. (Push-ups may be involved for late comers.) 1:30 pm – Pray that your group does not have duties and can have siesta time instead (at least then there is no proof that you have absolutely no control over your kids). If you do have duties (please not the washrooms or kitchen clean up!) then put on a fake smile and pull energy from deep within your being (you learn to do this very often) and plan on doing about 75% of the work yourself. If you don’t have duties, prepare some incredible argument to convince your kids to shower or clean their tent (or at least stay in the tent)…if they don’t understand English then throw all shame to the wind and use the ten German words you know as creatively as possible to get your point across. Afternoon – Hope that you signed up to lead a fun afternoon activity that you actually know a bit about…Maybe it is water sports (no, that does not mean simply swimming in the lake, you must plan structured activities and challenges), maybe climbing again (no, we are not doing the zip line today), or maybe bushcraft (what the heck is that and why did I decide to lead it?). 6:00 – Dinner. Again, hope that your kids are hungry enough to show up on time and prepare to be bombarded by them afterward for phone time. Try to remember to drink a coffee or two because the day is only about halfway over. After Dinner – While the kids are somewhat absorbed in their phones for a few minutes, run around camp and try to figure out what the evening activity is and if everything is ready for it. Maybe you will have 3 minutes to come up with a costume out of tin foil for a Greek themed Olympiada or maybe you will have to come up with a playlist for a two hour disco (without internet or a working computer, of course), or maybe you will have to mentally prepare yourself to be tortured to beauty by your tent group for “Pimp Your Teamer” night. Either way, your body is screaming to sit down and take a break, but you know that word doesn’t exist at camp. Evening Activity – See above, just add the chaos that comes with trying to organize 100-200 kids into any kind of slightly efficient configuration where at least some of them have fun and most of them come out alive. 9:30-11:30 pm (depending on the age of your tent group) – Try to get your completely hyped tent group to brush their teeth, use the bathroom, change into pajamas, and get into bed in less than an ungodly amount of time. Then read to them, light a candle or do anything in your power to get them to fall asleep quickly. 11:00 pm (but honestly probably midnight or later) – Teamer meeting. Yeah, you thought the day was over, didn’t you? No. It is not. Scramble over to the Yurt, or the headquarters building, or wherever the teamer meeting is (or just run around the camp until you find the meeting because it always changes location without warning). Settle down with your equally exhausted colleagues and talk about the day, plan the next one (yes, you MUST sign up to lead activities!), and share some of the “bloody brilliant” things people did that day. 1:00 am – Hope to life that you are not “Night Cat” (required to stay up from 1 am to 5 am) so you can crack open a teamer Milch with the others. This is the first time all day that you actually feel awake….therefore, you stay up with your friends, you say yes to another Milch, you eat way too many Doppelkeks, you share stories that may or may not be true, you play “Never Have I Ever” and reveal way more about yourself than you ever have to anyone you have known for only a few weeks, you try to sneak pretzels into peoples’ drinks, you try to roast cookies on the fire and to ninja steal other peoples’ roasting cookies, you drink, you complain, you laugh, and you are exhaustedly happy….and then you look at your watch and you suddenly realize that morning sports start in four hours…

Working at Camp Europe represented a completely new challenge for me, I was seeking for new experiences and I definitely got it here. Long and exhausting journeys became part of my routines, from 7:30 in the morning until mid-night sometimes, it makes you feel useful and it will definitely challenge your strength. After living in four different countries I thought it would be normal for me to be out of the comfort zone, but living in the camp was something completely different, the charge of work, the type of food, being unconnected with the world ( not having internet access), or even not having time to call your family or in some cases not having time for showering, it definitely changed my way of thinking. It was once in a lifetime experience which allow me to learn a lot about myself. The team work and the sense of authority were my biggest challenges. The best part of my days was the time I spend with those amazing kids and the development of projects. This month at Camp Europe challenged myself in all the ways possible, I struggled, I learnt from my mistakes (hope so) and I got to be a better human being.
