Bugeme Initiative for Development (BID)

Bugembe Initiative for Development (BID) is a community-based organization founded in 2011 in Bugembe, Jinja District. The mission is to empower women, youth, and vulnerable individuals by addressing their socio-economic needs through a holistic approach. In Uganda, challenges such as poverty, disease, unemployment, and conflict have left many, particularly women, youth, children, and the elderly, in vulnerable situations. BID was established to support these individuals, especially those suffering from HIV/AIDS, orphans, street children, and those experiencing extreme poverty.

The focus is on addressing the core needs of the most marginalized communities, who often lack basic rights such as food, shelter, education, and healthcare. Through its initiatives, BID aims to restore hope and provide the necessary resources for a better future. Every effort is made to ensure these vulnerable groups regain their dignity and have access to a brighter, more secure future.
