Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need coaching or sports experience?

No formal coaching qualification is required. We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, active, confident engaging with young people and willing to get involved. Your responsibilities develop around your skills, interests and the school’s needs, with opportunities across football, other sports, fitness and health education.

What sports and activities will I be involved in?

Football is a huge part of the program, but it isn’t the only focus! You may coach football, basketball, volleyball, fitness, games and movement activities, support tournaments and help deliver health education covering exercise, nutrition and wellbeing. Activities vary with the school timetable, season and current priorities.

Is Tanzania safe, and what support will I have?

Your safety is a priority. You’ll receive pre-departure guidance, airport pickup, secure accommodation with private security and 24/7 in-country support. Our local team coordinates placements and included travel while helping you navigate transport, culture, health, nightlife and everyday life in Tanzania.

Tanzania is also a very safe and peaceful country, visited by millions every year.

What is included in the program fee?

Almost everything! Your fee includes Europe return flights, visa, airport transfers, private-bathroom accommodation, daily meals, placement fees, Level 3 Diploma, training, Academy learning, weekly adventures, cultural activities, safari and 24/7 support. The 12-week program also includes Zanzibar.

No Sunday lunch, Vaccinations and Travel Insurance as these need to be arranged by the individual.

What does the overall Academy experience involve?

Think sports internship, gap year and Tanzania adventure rolled into one! Alongside coaching and your Diploma, you’ll share safari, waterfalls, road trips, cultural activities, social nights and weekly adventures with an international cohort. Add Swahili, personal growth and Zanzibar on the 12-week program, and there’s always something happening.
