Program Highlights

Day 1: Restoration ecology: The first diving day is then spent surveying impact sites and viewing a selection of coral restoration projects taking place on the island.

Day 2: We discuss and developing a restoration plan. Followed by an underwater site assessment of the restoration area including mapping and identification of species present.

Day 3: Physical restoration techniques: We begin building modular reef structures on shore. Then out diving to build the coral nursery and install reef structures.

Day 4: Biological restoration techniques: Diving to select suitable donor sites for collecting coral transplants & transplanting corals into the restoration site.

Days 5 & 6: Monitoring and maintenance of the coral restoration site and continuing to transplant corals using different techniques.
