Better Me believes in the power of every individual to contribute, regardless of their background or expertise. Whether you have experience as a teacher, social worker, child psychologist, coach, athlete, or simply a passion for learning and growth, you can make a meaningful impact in our Programs. Our team is based at the Korando Educational Centre, located in a laid-back community just outside Kisumu in western Kenya. This beautiful and green environment provides a refreshing atmosphere, and although there may be challenges, the warmth and hospitality of the Korando Educational Centre make it a welcoming place to live and work. Our office is conveniently located, with a short 15-minute drive to Kisumu International Airport and about 25 minutes to Kisumu town.

The best time of my life

Better Me has offered me an incredible amount of unforgettable experiences. From going on safari, visiting the equator and spending so much time with the kids to becoming a member of the family- each and every wish has been fulfilled. I didn’t think that this time would affect my life back in Austria so much, but it does, because I think about my second family each and every day. The kindness and effort of the team is something I will forever be grateful for and I am going to return to Kenya soon for sure. Thank you so much, for the best time of my life and for the memories that I will cherish forever. Asante sana.
The most memorable and transforming experience

I was teaching geography and yoga and had the chance to explore the beautiful national parks. I still support the charity and will always do. It's like my family

I was inspired to work for this organization because of its commitment to empowering young people and embracing global diversity through its volunteer program. What inspired you to travel abroad?
The desire to make a difference: My organization gave me a chance to work directly with communities, particularly vulnerable children and families, offering a fulfilling sense of purpose. The ability to see tangible changes in people’s lives whether through education, health, or personal development is incredibly rewarding.
