Askari Wilderness Conservation Programme

Askari is recruiting volunteers to become part of the reserve management and conservation team at Pidwa Wilderness Reserve. Volunteers actively contribute to the management, research, and monitoring activities carried out on a daily basis. The long-term goal of Pidwa Wilderness is to create a benchmark reserve run according to strong wilderness and conservation ethics and principles. Volunteers experience life on a game reserve as well as getting involved in all aspects of daily life such as removal of alien vegetation, anti-poaching patrols, restoration of eroded soils, prescribed burns, game capture and release, predator spatial demographic monitoring and a groundbreaking brown hyena study, to name a few.
