An unforgettable experience

It was a great pleasure for me to work 6 weeks as a volunteer on the Reforestation & Environmental Education Project in Kenya! The Placement Manager from African Impact made it possible for me to book at short notice and helped me a lot with the preparations. The team onsite took very good care of me in Kenya and went the extra mile to make the stay perfect. I learned a lot every day and had a lot of fun at work! The vision of the local project is to be the lead organization in ecological restoration in Kenya. They have a lot of know-how, they are a young & motivated team and they also do a lot of research projects. Therefore the work is super exciting and varied. It made me very happy to contribute to this important project. In addition, I was very grateful that I was able to see a lot of this beautiful country, to get to know the culture and to make really good friends. Of course, the program and also the weekend trips like the safari were quite expensive (especially if you are a student), but it was worth it and I will never forget this time. Many thanks to all who contributed to this awesome experience!
