Discover the exciting world of polocrosse on an authentic Zimbabwean equestrian smallholding. This intimate programme is ideal for those passionate about transforming lives of ex-racehorses, wanting to develop their horsemanship skills, and learn about the exciting sport of polocrosse. Work with Andy Taylor and his family to retrain racehorses for polocrosse, polo, and showjumping. Learn the basics of polocrosse, participate in games and tournaments, and explore the local area on horseback. Enjoy a 3-night horseback wildlife camping safari and assist in rehabilitating disabled children through horse interaction, visit local wildlife rehabilitation centres. Weekends feature sociable braais and the chance to experience life in Zimbabwe.

Intermediate and above riding abilities accepted.

What are the requirements to join this programme?

You must be over 18 years of age and have a passion for horses. You must be an intermediate or above rider. Please note, our volunteers are usually around 18 - 30 years old.

What kind of volunteer work will I be doing in this programme?

You will assist in the daily care and management of an African stables. This will include feeding, grooming, tacking up and exercising the horses. You will learn about what it takes to prepare for a polocrosse tournament and train your horse accordingly.
