HIV/Aids Support in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

This program has a profound effect on children living with HIV/AIDS or who have been orphaned by this devastating disease, resulting in hardships and discrimination in their everyday lives. Volunteers help provide a safe environment that supports and educates these kids and communities about HIV/AIDS. They make a huge difference to vulnerable youth and children, many with no family and who feel disillusioned, by educating them on the disease, how to prevent it, what it may mean for those with the disease, and how they can go on to live fulfilling lives.

Projects reach children through school-based clubs and the youth through out-of-school sporting activities. With soccer considered one of Africa's biggest sports and a vast majority of young people following it, it's used to bring together these youths. The program has supported more than 600 children and youth and intends to increase this number.

This volunteer program makes a lasting, positive impact on the lives of local young Zimbabweans facing unimaginable challenges.
