African Hoofbeatz

African HoofBeatz is a Zimbabwe-based equestrian project offering immersive, small-group horse riding placements in Bulawayo. We specialise in retraining ex-racehorses for polocrosse, and other second careers, giving riders the chance to build real horsemanship skills while contributing to meaningful work with horses.

Founded by experienced trainer and international polocrosse player Andy Taylor, African HoofBeatz combines ethical retraining, practical riding experience, and life on a traditional Zimbabwean smallholding. Guests can expect far more than a typical riding holiday: from daily work with horses and learning the fast-paced sport of polocrosse to local competitions, horse safari experiences, and a deeper connection with Zimbabwean life and culture.
