Adelante Abroad

My time in Scotland was absolutely incredible! So much more than expected while also changing and improving my life and who I am. It allowed me to be in a place and have the opportunity to work with animals in a new and unique setting that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. From working with the birds to spending time with the seals and large mammals I fell in love with the SPCA!

I absolutely loved working at Vet for Pets in Falkirk! Everything from work environment, learning opportunities, and hands on experience was phenomenal. Loads of surgery shadowing time, helping to recover post op patients, and watching consults. I would recommend this opportunity to anyone interested in small animal veterinary careers! I would love to come back one day!

I learned a lot of useful information here. I did have a good time. The knowledge that i gained will definitely help me in the future and allow me to further any equine program i decide to take on. I do feel that I was a bit misled on where the program was, cost of living, and location. It started at the airport when we had an hour longer wait and no contact with anyone. No one here actually uses whatsapp, which adelante insisted we needed. There were 3 of us siting in the airport in the dark trying to figure out what to do in a foreign country with no guidance or contacts. When we arrived we were dropped off in the middle of no where with no service or information on where to go and how to get there. We had no contacts and it made for a very scary 24 hours. After that the trip went ok when we settled in. Scotland is definitely on a different time frame, very much 'island time'. When it comes to cost of living it is very expensive to get anywhere and we were not prepared properly for that. Adelante failed on that end as well. We also are in the middle of no where. We were led to believe that it was easy to get anywhere and it most definitely is not easy or cheap. So very opposite of what we were told. I had a good time in the program and it would have been fun to ride a bit more. I liked the information we learned, it was surface level, but still very beneficial.

This month has transformed me as a person and has led me to enjoy the simple things in life. I appreciate the morning riding sessions, classes with low-stress teaching style's and being around so many new people. Scotland and the city of Edinburgh are beautiful, but I would warn future students that it can be very costly and timely to travel, even to Edinburgh. You will need to budget more than what is recommended to get the full experience and learn how to use the buses and trains once you arrive. SRUC is not in the city, so it's important to learn how to travel, etc. Overall, the scenery is beautiful, peaceful and I've met lifelong friends. I would recommend this program to any horse lover.

I deeply enjoyed my time here in Scotland and had a blast with the horses and the girls in the trip. While I at first didn't realize how remote the campus was from main areas, we managed to make the best of it and still see a large amount of the surrounding areas. The staff were extremely patient, especially the barn staff who clearly cared deeply about both horse and rider well being. The academics were fun without being too much in a very short amount of time, and felt well structured and taught. The only issues were when a number of us got sick towards the end of the trip and had some difficultly getting medical care, but had a great staff who tried their absolute best! Overall, I enjoyed my experience but wish I had been more prepared coming in.

This was my first study abroad experience and first time out of the country so I was not quite sure what to expect. The staff were very nice and supportive throughout the experience, but more communication between instructors and meeting times/places would have been helpful.

I had a great time interning with the professors in Dundee, Scotland. They helped us integrate into the culture and navigate our new surroundings while also providing us with useful professional experience. I do feel that the admin of Adelante was a bit unorganized as far as knowing important information and providing context. I also found the meetings leading up to be a bit un informative and I would rather it be a time for us to meet each other than ask personal questions to a large group (many of which weren’t answered anyway). Overall I had a great time with this program, I just wish I had some more clarity in the earlier stages of the trip.

I have had the best experience and will recommend that everyone apply and try to come on this study abroad trip to see for themselves. It was worth the money 1000% with memories that will never go away and new friends for life. Everyone I've met on this trip has been super nice and welcoming, students and staff alike. This trip is also pretty unique as for it's independent nature, being able to go explore everywhere myself has been super invigorating.

My experience was one of a kind and I loved every little bit about this experience. The campus, the staff, fellow students, and the horses were amazing and made my time abroad even more exciting. I had not ridden in 7 years before coming here and rode western when I had. I am so amazed by the amount I have learned from the staff and the horses. I am leaving knowing how to trot in English saddle and do a dressage pattern. The academics part was so hands on and fun to learn. Getting to learn all the systems, muscles, and bones on a horse was probably my favorite part and I cannot wait to use it in the real world back in the states. I got to immerse myself in the Scottish culture by going to towns and cities throughout Scotland and appreciate Scotland's beautiful landscape. Also, I was able to take a trip to London and Dublin that was so much fun! I loved this experience so much and I will be grateful forever for all the friends I have made!!

Studying abroad in Scotland has made me look at life differently. I knew it would be life changing but its impossible to know how until you've experienced it. I've been able to go through this experience with the most wonderful group of girls who have been nothing short of supportive. The sixteen girls I've bet through this program will be friendships that will last a long time because we have bonded in a way different than most people. Being able to go out and do our own thing has really made this experience more personable and that's where a lot of the self reflection comes in. I've never been one to get home sick and this experience was no different. The difference though, is in the past I've always been ready to go home after time spent away. That is not the case after staying in Scotland. The staff at SRUC have been amazing and helpful. They expect us to apply our learning and try our best, but they are approachable and helpful. They know all of us by name and really prioritized the opportunity to know their students, even if we were only here a month. The Scottish people have been extremely nice and the areas are safe even when in the cities like Inverness and Edinburgh. The Scottish people are also proud of their culture and want to share it with others. This aspect made me feel very welcome and supported. It was so nice to be able to leave all my worries behind and actually be able to enjoy my time here. I was worries about that in the beginning because I had a hard couple of months before leaving for Scotland, but I am hoping I can bring the joy I've found in this wonderful place with these wonderful people back home with me to the states.

During my time abroad in Scotland, I have made lifelong friends and memories that would not have been made otherwise. I put myself out of my comfort zone and traveled out of the United States alone for the first time while living with 15 other girls who I had not met prior to this trip. With this trip being pretty independent, I was able to travel to lots of different cities and a country, such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Linlithgow, Uphall, and Dublin, Ireland while spending my time here. Everyone who works on SRUC's campus is kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful with any questions we had towards class information, assignments, things to do around Scotland, and more. They made me feel so welcomed while being on campus and I always felt safe, included, and wanted. Being able to ride during this program was also a huge highlight of my experience here. It made me feel more at home and provided us all a sense of comfort and familiarity. I would not have been able to be away from riding and horses for 4 weeks so this inclusion made my time here even more special. I met lifelong friends through this journey and am upset to leave them but so grateful for the blessing of this trip that brought us all together. Overall, I absolutely loved this program, classes, people, and Scotland and am extremely grateful to have been able to spend my month of June here. I will never stop recommending Adalente, SRUC, and Scotland to others and hope I can spend friends here in the future!

This program was so fun and Scotland is an amazing country to visit. The equine summer program was very immersive and life changing. Getting to learn in a hands on way was probably my favorite part. I also loved getting to ride the horses every week, every single horse was amazing and it was so fun to get to know their personality's. The staff was so helpful and made the process very smooth. Everyone in Scotland was very nice and welcoming. Learning about the Scottish culture was a highlight of the trip and id 100% recommend.

Getting the opportunity to participate in this amazing program has been one of the best and most unique experiences of my life. All of the people that I have met here have been nothing short of amazing and I know we have all made lifelong friends. I am so sad that the program is ending and I wish I had gotten a few more weeks to experience scotland. The classes were great and very interactive and the small size of the class made it easy to ask questions and collaborate as a group. The barn was beautiful and the horses and staff were amazing. I loved getting to ride many different types of horses and learn from a variety of people. I know that the time I have spent here has been life changing and I am not only going home with new memories and friends, but also a better version of myself that was all made possible through this program!!

I had the amazing opportunity to challenge myself academically and personally. The courses I took gave me valuable knowledge and practical skills that I can take back with me to complete my undergraduate studies in the states. In addition, the instructors were very helpful and accessible when needed. I was also able to make incredible friendships with girls all over the US while here, and we definitely made the most of our time abroad.

These past four weeks have been so much fun! Our riding and educational staff has been wonderful and supportive throughout this whole experience, making it extremely enjoyable and easy to navigate. Even knowing no one beforehand, this experience has been absolutely amazing. I have had a great time getting to know everyone on the trip and getting to explore together!

This trip was super interesting and fun! It allowed me to do activities and attend classes not available at my home school. The teachers where amazing and the other student not he trip where great. I dont ride horses at home so this trip was a great way to learn the basics while getting to explore another country.

I loved this experience so much it really taught me a lot about myself and just how much I enjoy traveling. I loved the horses especially and the professors were always very helpful and encouraging. Overall, would totally do it again. .

The equine science summer abroad in Scotland was a life-changing experience! I am so glad I did this program, and wish I could do it again and again! The campus was stunning, the lecturers were all wonderful, the coursework was engaging, the riding was fun, and the sightseeing was incredible! Coming on this study abroad was nerve-wracking for me, but everything went smoothly and I had the time of my life. I would recommend this program to everyone!

I had a great time in Scotland!! All of the girls were wonderful and there was a range of riding abilities but that didn't stop us all having fun riding, at school, and out and about. The trips the staff brought us on were great, super fun!! The profs were super helpful and I learned a lot.

I was stationed with the best group of girls! The work we did was really fun and I created valuable relationships with people that work in my desired field of study. Every weekend was spent exploring and taking excursions! A great way to spend the summer!

This was not my first, nor my second studies abroad, but this was the most convenient one if we are talking about communication, organization, paperworks tasks and so on overall. I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Adelante Abroad. They were so helpful before departure in making sure I was set up for success, and really ensuring my experience was going to fit my personal and professional goals. They reached out throughout my time in Madrid as well to make sure everything as going smoothly! I really loved my internship, the people were so kind, and I really enjoyed the experience of getting to work in such a unique setting. They made it easy in setting my up living situation as well, and it was amazing living right in the city center of Madrid. I highly recommend gonig through Adelante!

This was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only is Madrid itself one of the best cities in the world, but the internship experience was one of the best intern/company experiences I've had. My fellow interns, coworkers, and managers were some of the best people to work with and were always a reliable source to go to when I needed help or had questions. The apartment itself was also very well kept and clean. The only downside was that the stovetop had a burner that did not function, but all other appliances that you could need were provided in both kitchen and room. Overall, the internship and life experience provided me with some of the best times of my life, and the people I met and worked with are some people that I hope to keep in contact with for long after this internship.

Montevideo is a small and relaxed city, but not knowing anyone when I landed was definitely anxiety-inducing. However, my host family showed me around the city, and it was great to know that I could overcome things that once scared me! Everyone in Montevideo is incredibly kind, and multiple people were happy to reach out and offer help if I should need it. There were many trials and error such as getting a bus card in Spanish, learning how to ride the actual bus, navigating the 20 floor hospital I interned in, simply crossing the street, and learning the names of groceries in another language. At times it was difficult, but going outside of my comfort zone is what helped me to grow my confidence in myself knowing that I was able to accomplish these small but necessary daily tasks in another country.

This program in Seville was an incredibly rewarding experience, with the clinical component being one of its greatest strengths. Having the opportunity to gain clinical exposure in an international setting added a unique and meaningful dimension to my time abroad. Observing healthcare delivery in a different system and cultural context challenged my assumptions and helped me develop a broader, more patient-centered perspective on medicine. The support provided throughout the program was excellent. The staff and clinical providers were approachable, organized, and genuinely invested in making sure the experience was both educational and smooth. Their guidance allowed me to focus on learning and professional growth while adapting to a new environment. Combined with strong cultural immersion and academic structure, this program offered a well-rounded and impactful experience that I would highly recommend to students seeking international clinical exposure.

Adelante gave me the incredible opportunity to work with industry professionals in my field. I worked directly with professionals in my field and was fortunate enough to get to work with my first choice company. I was also able to make friends with all of my roommates and other's I met through networking around Madrid.

My experience with Adelante Abroad in Sevilla was truly unforgettable, and something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Overall, the program was awesome and gave me the chance to grow both personally and professionally. From the start, the customer service was excellent. Every time I had a question or concern, the Adelante team responded quickly and made sure I felt supported throughout the entire process. I applied late, so I didn’t have many options when it came to my placement or housing. Even so, the pickup upon arrival went smoothly, and I appreciated how organized the transition was. When I got to my shared apartment, I was initially a little let down because three people were already living there and were not in the same situation as me. Luckily, they turned out to be really kind, and we got along great. My room itself was comfortable, and overall, the living situation worked out well. My internship was one of the highlights of my program. I worked near the water mainly assisting people with kayaking and paddle boarding at Club Deportivo Triana, which was such a unique and enjoyable experience. The staff there were wonderful since they were flexible, supportive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Adelante also checked in with me from time to time, which was reassuring and made me feel taken care of in case any issues came up. Socially, I had to take the initiative to go out and meet people, since there wasn’t much organized for participants in that aspect. As someone who is naturally social, this wasn’t a problem for me, but for others, it might be a challenge. Still, living in Sevilla made it easy to explore. Everywhere you walk, there's something beautiful or unique to discover. It’s truly an incredible city. Overall, I’m really grateful for this experience. Despite a few small challenges, Adelante Abroad gave me an opportunity that I will remember forever, and I would absolutely recommend the program to anyone looking for an authentic and meaningful internship abroad.

I had a wonderful time interning with Adelante in Sevilla. Southern Spain is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, and it did not disappoint. There was plenty to explore and discover while also enjoying an immersive experience and improving my Spanish. A heads up for future applicants, I just wanted to say that I made all of my closest friends from the language school I attended the first two weeks. My workplace was a very small company with not many other people, so we didn’t meet up outside works. So if you’re looking to become close with locals, it might be a bit more difficult. That being said, the Spanish people are super friendly and I had many wonderful conversations with waiters, taxi drivers, and just casual conversations with locals. But if you imagine yourself only wanting to make close friends with Spaniards on arrival, it may be tough.

I would like to update my review about my experience with Adelante - I spent the first month of my trip living in a non-air-conditioned room that was actually assigned to me from the Spanish School nearby, Eureka. The last two weeks of my internship were spent taking classes with Eureka, and these two weeks of Spanish school are part of the deal that Adelante coordinates for you. Unfortunately, I had spent my last two weeks taking Spanish classes with Eureka rather than my first two weeks in Madrid, which is not what is advertised by Adelante. However, I believe this was the case due to the fact that most Spanish businesses are taking a break during the months of July-August; I also speak Spanish fairly well so this wasn't much of a problem, but this is something to keep in mind. To reiterate my point, I am updating my review because I realize that my "no AC complaint" was mostly out of Adelante's hands. Additionally, my negative experiences with the boss of my work placement aren't completely in Adelante's power as well, as Adelante's main job is to secure an internship placement, and I assume that they weren't made aware that my boss would make my work experience unenjoyable prior to placing me there. Adelante has also reached out reimburse my software license that I paid out of pocket, which I appreciate. In hindsight, I had a much better experience in Madrid than I initially described in my first review - if I could do another internship or job abroad I'd do it in a heartbeat, because any big city in Europe has a ton to offer, especially when you are young and developing your career and interests.

My time abroad in Madrid with Adelante abroad was an amazing experience. I couldn’t have been more grateful with the organization I was placed with, and the friends I made with others in the program. Being able to go to work with easy access to the metros and busses was perfect and added even more to the experience.

Spending time in Barcelona has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From the very beginning, everything was well-aligned to make my stay comfortable, productive, and memorable. My housing was conveniently located just a short walk away from both my internship placement and my Spanish language school, which made my daily routine smooth and stress-free. Not having to commute long distances gave me more time and energy to fully engage with everything the city had to offer. My internship experience was particularly impactful. I was placed in a professional and welcoming environment where I was given real responsibilities, not just busywork. I felt like a valued part of the team, and I learned so much about the industry, local work culture, and how to collaborate across languages and cultures. It was challenging in the best way—pushing me to grow both professionally and personally. In addition to my internship, I took Spanish classes which were incredibly helpful. The teachers were engaging and patient, and the classes were well-structured to improve both conversational and grammatical skills. Being immersed in the language every day also helped reinforce what I was learning in class. One of the unexpected highlights of my time in Barcelona was the people I met. I made great friends from all over the world—some through my internship, others at the language school, and many more through social events in the city. Barcelona has such an international, vibrant feel that it was easy to connect with people who were also here to learn, work, and explore. All in all, my time in Barcelona was a perfect blend of professional development, language learning, and cultural immersion. I came here hoping to gain experience and improve my Spanish, but I left with so much more—new friends, unforgettable memories, and a deeper appreciation for the city and its people. Hover to react

Having studied in Madrid the previous semester I really wanted to come back and have a different type of work experience during the summer. I enjoyed the laid back environment of my internship with Fundación Tríangulo yet I gained valuable insight about public health and sexual health in Spain, among many other skills which will benefit my future career/studies. I did enjoy the centrality of our apartment but it was quite small, I know this is normal for Madrid, but I we did not exactly have private living spaces. I really love Madrid and the availability of outdoor activities, shopping, diverse food choices, the kind people, nightlife, and much more. It will stay in my heart forever, the memories, friends, education and work experience, and I hope to return soon.

Doing Adelante Abroad was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The internship gave me real work experience, not just busywork, and pushed me to grow professionally and personally. Working in a different culture definitely took some adjusting, but it taught me a lot about flexibility and communication. Living in Madrid was unreal. The city has this energy—late nights, amazing food, and people who really know how to enjoy life. I learned to slow down, be present, and step out of my comfort zone every day. If you're looking for something beyond a basic study abroad, this is it.

I had a great time interning here in the centre of Madrid. The accommodation was right by the Sol metro station in the very heart of the city, which made travelling to whichever corner of Madrid easy and convenient. On top of that, you get to meet a range of people you would not see elsewhere (in the same place) while studying for two weeks in the language school. And the internship itself is a great opportunity to gain experience in a field that interests you—in my case, this was getting to work with kids and adults in an educational setting. Given that the hours are reasonable (20-ish per week), there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the cultural life of the city, especially on the peripheries where fewer people visit. Overall, a great programme that you can adapt to your needs depending on how much time you have to invest. In my case, I used Adelante as part of my compulsory year abroad for my university degree, and the help received from the team in terms of admin and pre-departure information and communication was definitely a great help.

I chose Uruguay for its safety and security, but quickly fell in love with the 'tranqui' way of life, the Rioplatense dialect and the hospitality between the people. My expectations were to put my head down for four months and work at the office doing my internship in translation, then return home. That couldn't be further from the truth. I met some amazing people from all over the world, who were fascinated about me and my country (the UK) and eager to exchange cultures. It was my first time visiting a country whose people didn't know much about the UK, and I learned so much about how it is viewed on the other side of the world. Simultaneously I learnt so much about Uruguayan culture from almost constant interaction with natives both in the office at my internship and also at the home where I was staying. I found that Uruguayans are lovely people and will always do the most to ensure you are doing okay- in a way that is so different from the customary and empty English "how are you doing?" to which you will always answer "fine". My experience with Adelante was amazing. Communication was always swift, I always found myself informed about the logistics of my placement and it was a big reassurance to have the programme coordinator in the country- especially as a young solo female traveller. I would heavily recommend Uruguay to anyone, but especially to any traveller who is concerned about safety. My experience here has been wonderful and I definitely see myself coming back

This was my second time doing an Adelante program, and it was once again an incredible experience. My experience with Adelante the second time around was even greater! The Ecuador program is truly an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in Ecuadorian culture, become fluent in Spanish, and gain valuable work experience. Adelante connects you with talented Spanish teachers who make learning Spanish practical and fun. The housing was in a perfect location, and the host family was welcoming and kind. My internship in Quito was enriching. I learned a lot in my two months, and I was able to work outside in the city and with the community as well. I had a great time, and Adelante helped everything run smoothly and safely.

This whole experience with Adelante Abroad was an absolute blast. I was able to learn so much about the game of golf and I now have a much deeper appreciation for the sport after being able to experience the home of golf first hand. We were able to play many nice courses for discounted rates and managed to golf almost every day we were there. I also loved coaching the school kids because they were very into the activities we had planned. The city of St. Andrews is very nice and I loved calling it home for a month.

Adelante placed me with a company very tailored to my interests--something that involved both Criminology and Psychology. I learned a good bit about how such systems function in Spain, and everyone at my foundation was very welcoming. I'm glad I chose this experience to widen my perspective on the world.

I got to play some of the best golf courses the country and the world can offer and my game improved a noticeable amount. I met a lot of great people (in the program and from around the world) who made the trip memorable. I saw a lot of great scenery from castles to lakes and rivers to beautiful golf courses. Our instructors Gary and Graeme were helpful, fun, knowledgeable, easygoing, and truly wanted to do everything they could to make it the best possible month in Scotland. Finally, I learned a lot about the history of the game, rules, and instruction.

I truly enjoyed every day i spent at Moredun. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly which made me feel at home. From farm life to cells under a microscope, I saw it all. I am so grateful for this opportunity that I had and I couldn’t have asked for more. This experience exceeded my expectations and I will miss everyone dearly. Until next time!

This was my first time traveling abroad and it was amazing. They make you feel at home during the whole trip and answer any and all questions you have. You also have enough free time to go explore other places while you are studying here. Overall it was an amazing experience!

Internship Abroad Review — Queen Margaret University, Scotland I completed a research project on pseudo-neglect and soft faction during my internship at Queen Margaret University. The professors were very kind, supportive, and accommodating throughout the experience, which made the academic part very rewarding. Scotland itself is absolutely beautiful, and having weekends free allowed me to explore and travel around, which was a great way to balance work and leisure. I highly recommend this internship for anyone interested in combining research with the chance to experience life abroad. That said, I found the program to be quite expensive relative to the overall experience, and five weeks felt a bit too short to fully benefit from the opportunity. If I had the chance, I would definitely do it again, but I hope the duration could be extended or costs reconsidered for future students.

I have absolutely loved my time working at Queen Margaret Univeristy within the psychology department. I got to work with 3 different professors on their research projects, and they gave us lots of flexibility in shaping their research projects . This is an experience unlike anything I have done before, and I got real world research experience that will help me further my academic and professional goals. I have also loved living in the city of Edinburgh, and I don't want to leave!

This program exceeded my expectations far past anything I could have imagined. The material was interesting and useful and the instructors were all absolutely amazing! Each of them kind, supportive, and knowledgeable!

I had a great time exploring and learning in Scotland! The courses were taught very well and the professors were very helpful. They made sure that we had exercises or went up to the yard to aid to give us hands on experience!

I had the best month this summer in Scotland. This was an outstanding program that welcomed us in since I arrived at the airport. The classes were great, the teachers cared very much about our success in the courses and gave as every resource we needed. The riding was so much fun and I felt that I learned a lot through their training. It was easy to get into Edinburgh and spend time there as well. There was also time to explore, such as Dublin and London.

This was such a great experience. I'm so glad and greatful I got this opportunity. Perfect for all horse girls. All of us girls got along so well. We did all things horsey but also had many Fun nights out and even traveled to some other cities.

Everything was amazing about this program the instructors were lovely and very helpful. I only had a few problems, the very first day I was given all of the wrong contacts numbers so when I had problems with my flight I was talking to someone on the other side of the ocean. And I ended up paying for my own taxi who dropped me off at the wrong part of campus. Where I was then finally found by the residential manager. It was all lovely and amazing here the only problems I have had are with adelante and not sruc.

As someone who was nervous about studying abroad, after spending the month here I cannot recommend this program enough. The staff and faculty are so friendly and accommodating and truly made the most of this experience.

I had a blast during my study abroad in Scotland. My favorite part was exploring Edinburgh and having riding lessons several times a week (especially hacking our last week of the program). It was also super easy to go to other countries. We went to Dublin, Ireland our first free weekend!

I absolutely loved being here! I would move here today if I could. I am just so grateful I got to experience the beautiful nature, the people, and the riding experiences here in Scotland. I am so sad to leave and will definitely leave a piece of my heart here for all the great memories!

This program gave me the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone. Traveling to a different country can be very challenging, but this program placed us with other students who share similar goals and interests. I was able to meet others who shared the same love of horses as I do.

This study abroad program was an incredible experience to see new culture and get out of my comfort zone. Having never been to another country, I was worried about a lot of different variables, but the staff made the transition easy and supported me throughout the whole process. The horses were amazing and taught me so much. It could not have been a better experience!

My month-long equine study abroad in Scotland was an incredible experience that blended classroom learning with cultural exploration. We studied equine anatomy, physiology, and fitness in a hands-on, engaging way while surrounded by stunning Scottish landscapes. Highlights included visiting the iconic Kelpies and attending the Royal Highland Show, where we saw Scottish agriculture and horse culture up close. I gained a deeper understanding of the global equine industry and connected with classmates who shared my passion. This program gave me a fresh perspective on my studies and memories I’ll always cherish. I highly recommend it to any animal science student.

The girls, instructors, and classes were so hands on and fun to participate. You feel right at home and safe when staying here. They take your opinions and like/dislikes into consideration when riding and learning!

I had the greatest time at Scotland’s Rural College studying equine anatomy and fitness! The program is organized, well planned, and ran smoothly. I loved being able to ride at SNEC alongside our classes.

I absolutely loved being here and the nature was so pretty and Edinburgh was so much fun. Riding was my favourite part and we learned a lot and got to experience a lot of different cool things during our lessons.

Before coming to Scotland I had very little to no riding experience. I have spent a lot of time around horses, but have not had the opportunity to learn how to ride. They were very welcoming and understanding about my previous experience and made me feel very comfortable riding.

During my first week here I wanted to turn right around and go home. This program gave me a sense of independence and allowed me to become my own. I enjoyed getting to explore Scotland as well as meeting new people.

The program is what Adelante advertises- adequate housing is provided and collaboration with researchers in the psychology department at QMU is arranged. Our program had a significant amount of free time which is ideal if you plan on traveling outside of Edinburgh.

Going into this program, I was extremely nervous about everything from living situations to transportation. I have never been outside of my home country and I have never traveled by myself. Adelante Abroad made this experience extremely easy and less nerve-wracking. The Adelante staff are extremely nice and friendly. They are happy to answer any questions you have and they will gladly recommend places to visit based on past experiences from students. The housing I was given was perfect. It was just a short distance from a train station, a grocery store, multiple bus stops, a tram stop and multiple restaurants and cafes that were delicious. The housing allowed me to truly be immersed in Scotland's culture. My placement was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were absolutely amazing. They answered all of my questions and were super friendly. They also gave me great recommendations for food and travel to do outside of Edinburgh, which was where I was living. This program was a once in a lifetime opportunity and being able to participate in such a great program is the best thing I have ever done.

As my time in Spain is quickly coming to an end, it has made me reflect on my time abroad and appreciate all the memories I have made. For some context, I am doing a computer science internship in Seville, Spain, from January to May. When I first came out, I took 2 weeks of Spanish classes, which were fantastic. These classes quickly helped me make some friends and get used to living in Spain. After these classes, I started my internship at PCPaco, which was a fantastic experience. It was exactly the role I wanted for my career, teaching me tons. They also helped me explore more of the city and learn about all the holidays. I think that my favorite part of Seville is the people. Everyone I have met out at clubs and in general has been extremely friendly and patient. Admittedly, my Spanish was not amazing starting out, but everyone was patient with me and quickly helped me learn. Overall, 10/10 experience, and I definitely would recommend it to anyone wanting the experience of living abroad!

This is my first time studying abroad and I am so happy I chose this program. First, the price was more affordable than anything else I found in my month of searching! I was also able to get student aid which helped so much. Also the staff were so supportive and responsive to any issue I had both before/during the program and while in Sevilla. I personally took 4 classes which I thought was perfect! I had enough time to do well in my classes and also travel all around Europe. Also, taking all of my classes in Spanish skyrocketed my fluency and understanding. The classes themselves were very manageable in content and work load and I loved all my professors. The program advisors were reaching out often which made me feel secure as well. The only issue I had was with housing and everyone was so quick to help me and make sure I was doing well. The first house I was in was not a fit for me, even though she was such a sweet host. I also had a temporary apartment for a couple weeks which I loved so much. The location was perfect. The final housing I had was as a roommate in the same house as a host and her student. This was amazing for me because I had language/ cultural immersion, student company, and independence. Every student I spoke to loved this program as well.

To begin, I really enjoyed my time in Seville and I don't regret this experience. That being said, there were of course positives and negatives that others should be aware of. Starting with the good, Seville is a beautiful city with great nightlife and many sights to see. The people that I worked with from my marketing internship at the partner school, Spanish Institute for Global Education, were friendly and I always felt I could ask them any questions. I created lots of content for the social media, designed various promotional materials, and gained experience of what it's like to work in marketing. I also was able to travel on excursions with the school and had time to explore around Europe on my own. Now for the negative, my first internship I was contracted to pulled out once I was already in Spain. I ended up doing social media marketing for the school, so I did not experience the Spanish immersion that I had hoped for. I lived in an apartment with other English speakers, and my internship only had me come in two to three days of the week. I made friends with the students at the school, but they were all English speakers as well, and I didn't know how to meet Spaniards my age to help me be immersed. I would recommend staying with a host family so you have to speak in Spanish. With the housing, the apartment was generally nice, but my room had no window to the outside, it opened to the laundry room. There was also a smell of mildew from the bathroom that would never go away. It was just bad luck of where I was placed. I still appreciate the knowledge I gained here and the experience of living among a different culture.

I had a wonderful time in Madrid, it was a beautiful city with so much to see. The culture and the language is amazing, I loved immersing myself into it. I met so many awesome people. I would love to visit again in the future.

I had an amazing experience with my programme in Madrid. They were professional, supportive, and made the whole process smooth, from placement to visa support. Working with a company in the heart of the city gave me real-world experience and helped me grow both personally and professionally. The language practice component was also super helpful in building confidence and fluency. I’d highly recommend this program to anyone looking to combine work experience with cultural immersion.

My Experience: During my stay in Seville, I interned at the Spanish Institute for Global Education, where I worked on promoting international programs through content creation, social media, and market research. The experience helped me grow professionally while immersing myself in Spanish culture, improving my language skills, and exploring beautiful cities like Málaga and Córdoba. It was an unforgettable and enriching journey!

I signed up for Adelante Abroad as a way to have an immersive experience as an adult in my late thirties. I had previously spent three months living in Granada at an intensive language school, and this time I wanted something that felt more like truly living in the language. Adelante did an excellent job placing me in an internship. I'm in the process of transitioning from a career in tech to nursing, and they arranged a three-month hospital shadowing experience that was exactly what I was hoping for. Where Adelante fell short was in the housing placement. From the start, I clearly stated that I wanted a deeply immersive experience—that I wanted to engage as much as possible with the Spanish language and culture. My first homestay placement did not meet this expectation. The couple treated hosting as a business arrangement and more or less avoided interacting with me; we even ate in separate rooms. They also had another room open for foreign students, which was not disclosed to me. I requested a transfer and, given the short notice, accepted housing with another student from the U.S. Unfortunately, we had very different expectations. I was committed to speaking only Spanish, while she assumed everyone would speak to her in English. Adelante never mentioned that the homestay option might include sharing housing with other foreign students. Had I known, I would have found my own housing. I strongly recommend that, going forward, Adelante be more transparent about housing options. They should offer an option for applicants who are serious about language immersion to request a homestay with a family without other foreign students. I would have gladly paid more (within reason) for a full immersion experience.

I had a very good time with my Internship. I enjoyed training so often and had a great time with my training partners. I must say the communication however was lacking along with the placement of the internship being too relaxed for myself.

Oaxaca was everything I hoped it would be. I got so much experience improving my Spanish by speaking with the locals, and everybody I had the pleasure of interacting with was extremely kind and gracious to me. I also had SO many opportunities to expand and explore my artistic journey, including painting a mural, which led to two more opportunities for me to create art for businesses outside of the program. I made so many friends, and re-discovered my true passion for art and illustration. This trip sparked my interest in traveling solo more often, and I can confidently say Mexico has such a magical soul.

I have pretty much only good things to say about my experience abroad- only sad I wasn’t able to do it got longer! Spanish classes were good though even more Spanish assistance would have further enhanced and helped my Spanish learning, internship was good with very kind and compassionate coworkers and a good work environment, could have used some more hands on learning but wasn’t exactly expecting that. Social life was great, easy to make friends both in and outside of the program, no complaints.

I spent the summer in Barcelona shadowing psychologists at an assisted living residence. My coworkers were kind and helpful, and the patients were charming and sweet. The local program advisor was very helpful to me and my friends in the program anytime we needed anything. I also completed 2 weeks of Spanish classes prior to my internship. My Spanish improved tremendously, as did my professional skills. I feel that this program exceeded my expectations and helped to prepare me for a career in psychology. In addition to this, Barcelona was just an incredible city with so much life and character--I never ran out of things to do or places to see.

I spent eight weeks in Barcelona, and it was truly incredible. I shadowed psychologists at an assisted living facility. My coworkers were so kind and helpful, and the patients were amazing as well. I feel that this experience has truly helped me develop professionally, and I got to do it in one of the best cities in the world.

Okay so the first thing I can testify to is that Adelante Abroad is absolutely legit. My biggest fear with these things are being scammed-Adelante Abroad has been professional the whole way through. The interview process is quite smooth and the contacts are timely and very sweet. No disputes about money or any hidden fees or anything like that. They are also very affordable considering what other programs charge which is another reason I picked them. I like that they're not affiliated with any sort of university, they're a unique way to study abroad after college-an experience I always wanted but wasn't able to do until now! I also really love their flexibility-for the internship program you can pick how many months you want to intern, and they tailor the program to you. One bit of advice I would give is if you're picky about the sort of internship you want to do to be as involved as possible in the process, and respond timely to their emails. Something really nice they provide is a personal chaffeur from the airport when you land to where you'll be staying, which was so great not having to navigate foreign transportation after an international flight. Another thing they provided is two weeks of Spanish immeresion classes before your internship. Both of these things were included in the price. For me personally, my internship was in Music in Madrid. I'm a singer and wanted experience in the business side of things. For my particular internship, a large part of the work I did was online, so I took advantage and traveled to Portugal, Germany, and Morocco! Mandatory events I had to be in Madrid were musical events, some of which took place in churches and castles. I got along great with both my boss and my roommate thank goodness. I was provided really nice accomodations with a working professional near a metro in a very safe part of town. One thing I will say is this internship works well if you're very independent. They do not hold your hand and fill your schedule with things, so if you're very adventurous and free, like me,this program will be a good fit for you. If you want a set schedule with things constantly planned out for you, maybe not. If you're looking for something legit and affordable in a Spanish-speaking country to boost your resume and travel, I would recommend Adelante Abroad.

It was really fun, Dr. Knowles was very informative and supportive. Edinburgh is beautiful; however, it rains a lot, so bring a rain jacket. There is so much to do, so take advantage of seeing Scotland by train. There is no need for super fancy clothes; at university, everyone is very casual. The apartment felt safe, and so did the city. Public transportation is excellent, and getting around is easy. Make sure to visit the local markets and try some traditional Scottish food. The university facilities are top-notch, and there are plenty of resources available for research and study. Social life is vibrant, with plenty of cafes, pubs, and cultural events to enjoy. The locals are friendly and welcoming, making it easy to feel at home. Overall, my experience was enriching both academically and personally. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a study or work opportunity in Edinburgh.

Adelante is poorly organized and doesn't follow through on the majority of what they say. I would not recommend that anyone use this service. I want to say right off the bat that Adelante offers $5 amazon gift cards in exchange for each review that participants write (they suggested 5 places). That definitely cleared things up for me in terms of why there were so many positive reviews when the service is overall very bad. I figured I would start off with the pre-departure packet that they give, and go over all of the things they didn’t follow through on. I would not label Adelante as a scam. However, there were several times where they stretched certain definitions, or made things seem as if they would be different than they turned out to be. From the orientation packet “What’s included” section: the “Comprehensive orientation meeting in country” was a 20 minute zoom meeting. Looking back on my notes from that meeting, we were told that classes started on Monday and given the address for the school. To clarify, it was not a school, it was a building that rented out rooms for people to use. The “intensive spanish classes” were just me and the one other person who was also doing the adelante program with me at the time. There was 1 three hour class a day for two weeks. Me and the other person with me were at two completely different levels of spanish learning. This was not taken into account. It was a private lesson with the two of us and a tutor. (The tutor was very nice. It was not her fault that Adelante put two people at very different levels into a lesson together.) Over the course of my time with the program, multiple people arrived whose Spanish was not good enough to survive in Chile (where almost no one speaks English. You need Spanish proficiency to get around, to buy things, to take the buses. We also were not given any information about the buses or transportation and had to figure this out on our own, so being able to speak fluently enough to ask for help was a must. Adelante told people that they would not need to speak Spanish completely because everyone at Adelante speaks English and could help them. However, adelante did not help them at all. I believe that they would say just about anything to get students to go to the country, because once they have paid and are abroad, there’s nothing they can do about it.) I also felt very uncomfortable expressing my displeasure once I was over there, because I didn’t want to burn the one bridge I had, even if they weren’t all that helpful, because they had power over every aspect of my life. We had to do literally everything ourselves. I am aware that they said it was an independent program. I am not saying that they didn’t say that. Food, transportation, every aspect of our lives we had to just figure out upon getting there. Nothing was set up for us besides the classes and the internship. (And by set up I mean they made sure there was one, but they didn’t provide details about schedule etc… that we also had to figure out upon arrival.) Adelante completely fails to communicate anything with the students who are abroad. I believe this is partially because adelante is a side gig for most of the staff, and is therefore not their main priority. I also think it is because they have no idea what is going on. For example, one time I got an email from one member of Adelante’s staff saying that there were going to be students traveling to Chile with Adelante, but that they would be in a different part of the city than me, so I would likely never meet them. I got another email from a different staff member saying that they would actually be staying in the same housing as me. (Side note, this housing was not an apartment or a homestay as advertised, it was a boarding house. Other Chilean people were also paying for rooms at this house, and there were no meals provided, at least not for me.) Another example of Adelante not knowing what is going on is that another of the people who were doing the program at the same time as me got an email from one of them letting her know that her internship started the following day, when her internship had actually started a week ago. This ties into the fact that there are no set times, schedules, etc… set up for the internships. They do not tell you when to go in (times, days, etc… It also ties in to the fact that the people who are there to help you don’t even know the start dates for your internship.) Some people have internships for three days a week, and even on the weekends, while for other people (like myself) it was 9-5 Monday through Friday. Also, out of the three people who did the program at the same time as me (it was staggered, as some people did it for shorter times, but over the course of my time in the program, three other people who were also with the program lived in the same boarding house as me at various times) two of them had their internships switched the day before. For one of these people it was the same type of internship but with a different company, and for another person it was a completely different topic. They were told literally the day before that they had a whole new internship, location, responsibilities, etc… Also, for two of the people I was with their classes and their internships overlapped, so they were forced to choose between two things that they had paid for- either they had to skip out on learning the language, which they needed to get around and survive in Chile, or they had to skip the first days of their internship. In terms of transportation to internships, one of the people who was there at the same time as me had to take a micro (the buses in Chile) to a different part of the city, then walk from there to the bus station to take a bus out of the city, at which point she met someone from her job who she carpooled with to get to her internship. Adelante provided very little assistance in terms of figuring this out. Some additional things that would’ve been helpful to know regarding the micro are that you have to wave them down when you want to get on and tell them when you want to get off, as they don’t stop at every stop. Information about which buses go to which places, what the numbers on the buses correspond to what, etc… also would’ve been helpful especially at the beginning when we were told to use the micro to get to class and pretty much just sent an address and told to figure it out. The “Some events and excursions” that they claim to provide are two walking tours that happen over the course of 8 weeks. For the people who stayed for 4 weeks they went on one walking tour. Other things that they recommend on the website such as visits to Patagonia or Machu Picchu are incredibly difficult to do and figure out (again, especially if you don’t know the language) as they require a plane ride and often cost up to $1000. You definitely can’t do this if your internship is full time, which you won’t know until the day of. Other Chileans were shocked that this was mentioned as a possibility. Other Chileans around me were also shocked by how little I knew about my own schedule, how little information was provided to me, and how unorganized the program was. This is not to say that anyone at Adelante was unkind. They are certainly petty, as evidenced by the fact that I was left on read mid conversation when I said I didn’t have any photos of my internship to share with them, and by the way that they disclose mental health information in their responses to negative reviews in an attempt to discredit the authors. I really hope no one ever gives them any money ever again. I was suspicious going in, because of how reticent and wishy-washy they were with information, but I ignored it because I was tired of being cautious, and I just wanted to do something. I hope that other people listen to that voice in a way that I didn’t, because there are other, better options than adelante.

Studying and interning with Adelante Abroad in Madrid, Spain, was an incredible experience. The two-month program provided a unique blend of academic learning and hands-on work at a local NGO. I gained valuable insights into Spanish culture and language, while also contributing to meaningful projects that made a difference in the community. The staff and mentors were supportive and knowledgeable, creating an environment that encouraged growth and learning. The experience not only enhanced my professional skills but also enriched my personal perspective, making it an unforgettable journey.

My experience with adelante abroad was much different than I expected. I was excited to come to Seville with an already organized internship and plans for my 8 weeks here, however when I got here, my internship was not finalized. Even though I was told I would have an internship relating to my major, when I got here they told me my internship might not work out and were planning on putting me in an internship completely unrelated to my interests. Eventually I was able to do my initial internship, but didn’t allow me to do what I was expecting to do and I did not do what I was told I would. Additionally, adelante abroad was extremely disorganized and communicated very poorly. I felt very lost and uncertain on what I was supposed to be doing at first, if it weren’t for the friends I made here.

This summer I was blessed to live in the center of Madrid!!!! I was placed in Puerta del Sol and I loved every single opportunity I received there. I always had something to do and there was never a dull moment. I also gained two amazing friends that conveniently lived in my shared apartment. I will forever love the experiences I had, and I will 100% be back.

For a person who had never traveled to the other side of the pond, I have to say that it did not disappoint. Scotland was beautiful, its city, its culture and its people. The intership placement was incredible and full of knowledge and learning. I loved the balance that the program has planned for you so that you can get to know your surroundings and meet and share with new people. Although everything is a little expensive there because of the difference in currency, I have to say that I would love to do it all over again. I’m very grateful for the experience.

I not only loved the area I lived in but the easy and affordable public transportation per metro. My internship company could not have been more welcoming, I loved my experience so much. I learned so much about the field of pharmacy as well as getting to utilize my Spanish.

Someone came and picked me up from the airport and toke me to my accommodation which was in a very central, safe area! The Spanish school was great and I made lots of friends which I stayed close to for my whole time in Barcelona. My internship itself was better than I could have ever asked for. The office was incredible and I loved the team I worked with. I learned new skills and I met people that will become lifelong friends. Overall, I truly had the experience of a lifetime. Barcelona has become a second home to me and I could not be more grateful for my time there! 10/10 experience and highly recommend.

Someone picked me up and took my to my accommodation which was in a very central and safe location nearby to grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. The people at the Spanish school (Kingsbrook) were amazing and super helpful. It's a great place to make friends as soon as you arrive. At my internship itself I learned lots of new skills, worked with an amazing team in an incredible office and truly had an amazing experience. Barcelona is an amazing city and Adelante Abroad did a great job organizing everything. It was better than I could have imagined. 10/10 experience and cannot recommend enough.

This program was absolutely amazing. The veterinary clinic I was placed in was so welcoming and passionate. Every single day I spent in the clinic was filled with valuable learning experiences. It allowed me to fully immerse myself in the everyday life of a practicing veterinarian. Furthermore, all of the staff were happy to divulge their experiences handling various cases and answering any questions I may have. In addition, they also pointed out places to visit or things to do in Scotland on my days off from work. Their input really helped to make the experience truly memorable as I got to explore some of the less touristy areas. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine as it offers a brilliant opportunity to observe and learn.

i had an amazing time with adelante, the staff were amazing and the programs included were so fun. i really dont want it to end, and would definitely recommend it to everyone who seems interested in equines!

I was really nervous about going on this trip by myself without knowing anyone, but I ended up making friends and enjoying this trip. There was a few things that were not mentioned before attending this trip. The college is a little farther from Edinburgh than originally stated and the best way to get there was to get a taxi to the train station and take the train to Edinburgh. The rest of the trip was great and Edinburgh was very enjoyable, but the weather is very unpredictable and carrying a rain coat with you is definitely a great thing to do! There were tons of things to do and enjoy during our free time!

I thoroughly enjoyed my study abroad experience in Scotland! The coursework and riding lessons were informative and very fun! I had a great time adventuring around beautiful Edinburgh, Inverness and a small town in the Highlands called Corran during our free times. Very scenic and fun overall!

Everyone here was super nice and helpful. The classes and studying experience was nice and the instructors were super helpful with anything. We made a lot of friends in the program and went out and explored the country. Even with class, the program keeps in mind that we wanted to go and see and do a lot of things. Overall this was an amazing experience, and I would recommend anybody to do this program. This was my first time abroad and I think it was the perfect place to get adjusted to a different country.

This experience was a great once in a life time event. I do feel like i learned a lot in the anatomy physiology and fitness courses. The riding was very helpful and within the last four weeks i feel like i have improved.

For my first time studying abroad this was an incredible experience. The accommodations were good, and loved that we had out own bathrooms. Staff was more than helpful in assisting us with things as well as giving us ideas of what to do with our free time. I do wish we had more free time to explore the country, as well as more group trips that could get us farther than the main city. Classes were good and covered a lot of topics, and I liked having the hands on learning for anatomy and fitness. I wish I had brought a thicker sweatshirt, but buying one here gave me an excuse to get a souvenir.

I'm a veterinary technology student and this was a great experience. I wanted to widen my knowledge on horse's as a whole and thats exactly what I did. Through riding and academics this program helped me become more comfortable around horses and with the medical terminology surrounding horse care. I would definitely prepare for all weather conditions including cold winds and rains even though it is "summer".

we got to see as much of scotland as possible even with school, I will say that public transportation is really expensive so it would be beneficial to get a bus pass to save some money. As far as school and the riding goes it was nice to get back into horses and get some more science work.

I would highly recommend this program. I had a great time and made so many new friends. I learned how to use the taxi system and train system. The food was not the best for some meals so having a few snack was beneficial. I loved riding and the instructors were very nice.

I had an amazing time! The classes were amazing! Although I wish I had more time to sightsee or more planned sightseeing since getting everyone to commit to a plan is hard, I felt that some wanted to do more than others, which made some people miss out on seeing things that they wanted to see. But program-wise, it was amazing! I highly recommend it! I learned so much from both equine classes and from the riding instructors! I am not ready for this trip to be over.

I enjoyed the experience at the college, overall. The professors were amazing, the courses were interesting, and the style of learning was amazing. I felt safe at the college, with staff members, and with fellow students. However, the journey and communication with Adelante was not great. I did ask multiple times for clarification on what to bring (like school supplies and riding items). When I asked about school items I was told "to prepare for the weather" which was unhelpful. We were also given incorrect information on some of the riding items. While the experience in Scotland was amazing and I enjoyed the school, I do not plan on doing another program through Adelante.

SRUC Elmwood provided a great experience through informative classes and uniquely planned experiences. I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to play so many different courses in the home of golf. We were provided with great accommodations and put in a great location. I was lucky to be placed with an awesome group of friends some who I even consider family now. Although the administration side in Scotland was great, there was a huge lack of communication from the Adelante side on what activities would be included. There were multiple false promises on what this program would include and a lot of inorganization on there side. A lot of things that sold the program to me when I initially signed up were not included once I arrived abroad which was disappointing.

I love this trip and would recommend it to anyone looking to pursue a career in golf somewhere down the line. Although, if you are going on this trip purely for golf matters, expect to spend a lot of money paying for all of the courses that you want to play, only a few of the green fees are provided for you.

When I first heard I could study abroad in Scotland and get to play so many cool golf courses, I knew I had to sign up. When I first got to Scotland, I felt a little bit of culture shock and was a little nervous for what was to come. As soon as I met Gary, Graeme and Ian all of those worries went away and they helped me get accustomed to it and from then on I had an amazing time!

While in Scotland I have had a wonderful time, not only do i feel that i have learned about all aspects of the golf industry I also got to play some of the most reputable golf courses in the world by the likes of The St. Andrews old course, Kingsbarns Golf links, Dumbarnie, and many more.

Scotland was an amazing experience! Trying new things and being in a new culture was great and I would recommend everyone go abroad. I grew and changed in so many ways during my time in Scotland and I will take that experience with me throughout my life. The staff at SRUC Elmwood where I studied were extremely professional and helpful. They did their best to make sure we had what we needed and were enjoying our stay at all times.

We had an amazing time while we spent a month in Scotland. We got to play tons of dream courses and meet lots of amazing people. I also could not have asked for a better group of people to go on this trip with.

It was an amazing time. I golfed some of the most historic and beautiful courses and it blew me away with how they are on a different level. Gary, Graeme, and Ian are awesome instructors and we learned a lot from them with coaching, site visits, etc. The only trouble I had was before I left for the trip, the deposit was kind of sketchy and the predeparture meetings were a little misleading with information. For example, we were paying for golf most of the week (with a local discount, but still expensive), and it was harder to get on the old course than I expected.

Genuinely one of the best experiences of my life! It's amazing to be able to get hands-on experience relevant to my future career, while also being able to travel and explore new places. I've truly enjoyed my time here in Scotland both in the workplace and while traveling. Everything is so beautiful and has a deep history behind it, and it's wonderful getting to know every nook and cranny of this city.

Ive loved the program, they supplied everything they said the would and I have gotten to have an amazing time in Scotland. It feels like the program is a little unorganized at times but that's understandable because it's not an easy task and since they are willing to be patient with me I will be patient with them.

The work part of the internship was flexible, respectful and I learned a ton in terms of Spanish and about web development. Adelante itself is barely involved and they have almost no company infrastructure in Chile, you’ll basically be on your own, especially after the first couple of weeks. One of the monthly check-ins they sent me (one of like 3-4 emails total I got from the company while away) asked how my time in Barcelona was going. Their in-country directora is very nice but has another full-time job and most times I texted her I ended up having to go resolve the issue I was asking for advice on myself. If you need to change housing or work, it seems to me to be entirely luck-based as to whether they will have anything available for you, and will likely not. If you’re already very independent, tolerant of not ideal living situations and speak the language, adelante is an okay last option if you can’t go through school, work, or a more inclusive program

I enjoyed my time in Barcelona very much. I was ecstatic to get there and start. When I first started it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every minute of it. I have made some dear friends. I can say I will be back in Barcelona. I would recommend Adelante. Without them, none of this would have been possible. Spain in general is beautiful, but Barcelona has to be my favorite. It has everything. From mountains, oceans, beaches, forests, etc. They have the cold, breezy weather and the hot, humid weather.

I enjoyed my time in Barcelona very much. I was ecstatic to get there and start. When I first started it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every minute of it. I have made some dear friends. I can say I will be back in Barcelona. I would recommend Adelante. Without them, none of this would have been possible.

I was volunteering in Spain as a language assistant at Kingsbrook, however it wasn’t exactly how I thought it would be. I thought I would be learning how to plan and organise lessons and help out more during classes with the kids. Thinking this would lead to teaching English in the future. I did not do any of this! I’m disappointed by how much money I paid and getting little in return back for a future job. I would not recommended using adelante abroad for your volunteer placements!

I am a past client of Adelante Abroad but I wanted to share my experience. This is the best Intern Abroad Program!! I found Adelante Abroad through my college and am so happy that I did. The Spanish classes I took in my first 2 weeks abroad were some of the best Spanish classes I have ever taken. The staff worked with me to find my internship which was with a Social Media Marketing Agency in Barcelona. I was able to get experience assisting on photoshoots for content creation, planning and captioning posts and creating Instagram stories. I also assisted at an influencer event and with multiple social media campaigns for different clients. I learned so much through this experience and will have these memories for the rest of my life. Thank you Adelante Abroad for putting together such an incredible program!!

I had the best time of my life ! I loved every second of my internship and will forever have it as a memory in my head. If you are thinking about going abroad or choosing this program, just do it! It will be a something you will learn about yourself and grow from !

I really enjoyed my time as an intern through Adelante Abroad. I spent six weeks living in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I spent most of my week participating in research on pig behavior. I major in animal science, and I just applied to veterinary school, so this internship was very helpful in preparing me for my future career as well as my vet application. I also had such a fun time in the city, as I had never been to Europe before, and living there for the length that I did was incredibly cool. There was so much history and I feel that I got to see, experience, and learn so much during my time there.

I had the best experience in Barcelona, Spain. I improved my Spanish speaking abilities, met a TON of great people, and had so many amazing experiences. Unfortunately my internship itself was not great because I was placed with a soccer team and my supervisor was only a year older than me with no actual Physical Therapy degree. He was doing more of what an athletic trainer in the U.S. would be doing. While I was not able to get another internship lined up in my time there, I am thankful for the experience that I had.

I had the best time in Sevilla. Working in the hospital was a fantastic learning experience, and exploring the rich Andalucía region led to endless adventures. Adelante offered support that allowed me to thrive in my internship while encouraging autonomy for an authentic abroad experience.

Overall, my study abroad experience was great. I met many new people and made lifelong friends. The program itself is not great at communication (and my living situation was not ideal), but overall I am very happy with my experience. My internship was interesting and I got to do and see many things related to my field.

The program and my time at QMU were really positive - working at the psychology lab was really fun and informative and I’m sure having the experience will help me in the future. The housing was really central and the uni as well as all tourist attractions were easy to access via public transport. There were a lot of restaurants close by as well as some bars and pubs for going out and having a nice time. The weather during June was also surprisingly nice and overall there was nothing to complain about.

A good induction was conducted, provided a lot of clarity to the students as to what to expect in the upcoming weeks. The environment was very student friendly and understanding. My supervisor gave us the opportunity to raise any concerns or things we would like to do instead when it came to tasks. Experience helped develop skills relevant to research, such as communication, statistical analysis, team work, problem solving and also created a familiarity with computer softwares such as E-prime.

My experience with Adelante was definitely a good one. Not perfect, but good. The internship placement in the clinic was really awesome except that sometimes the director didn't want to listen to us and it lead to a few misunderstandings. But throughout the week when we were just working everything was awesome. Lots of hands on experience, lots of opportunities to learn new things. And the nurses and doctors there were so nice and really good at their jobs. I was continually impressed by them. I loved that our hours were monday-thursday as well because it gave us more time to travel and explore on the weekends. Our living quarters were pretty average. The bathroom was renovated, and the location was actually perfect, the neighborhood was super safe. Obviously it's not a USA luxury apartment but all things considered it was a good place to live. Usually if something broke or we had a problem they were able to help us out pretty quickly. The actual Adelante program itself was honestly much more independent than I expected, which was not a bad thing. They checked in every once in a while but honestly it felt like I was really living there by myself. Definitely a good way to gain experience adulting in another country haha. The only big complaint I would have with the program was communication. There were a number of details that weren't communicated to me at the beginning of the program like that I would have a specific uniform or little things like that. They would also often text us saying they were going to have someone come to the apartment for maintanence but only give us like a 30 minute warning and we were all at work. They got a little frustrated at that but honestly, we did to. We came to work, what can we say if we're not home at 11am. Anyway, besides the communication issues, it really was an amazing program. I learned and experienced sooooo much and I will never forget my time in Spain. If you're wondering whether or not it's worth it -- it is.

The internship was held at a country club where the summer camp was fully in English. The kids and staff were instructed to speak English only, no Spanish and most kids did an excellent job at this but others struggled but as I spoke Spanish I was able to help them find the word they were looking for in English. The activities were fun, a lot of arts and crafts, stem, outdoor activities, and swimming at the pool. I really liked that the arts and crafts activities were also meant to teach the kids for example colored magnifying glasses activity where they made yellow, red, and green magnifying glasses and when they stacked them they made different colors. This activity was to teach them about primary colors and also helped them with cutting since it was an activity for the younger kids 4-6 a lot of them struggled with scissors but got the hang of it quickly. I had a fun time at the English camp and recommend it to others.

My experience abroad was fantastic, I had a great time. At first it was scary and I did not want to go out and it was difficult to go out for long periods of time because it was extremely hot, over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for my first two weeks in Madrid. I didn’t really like my internship for the first few days but then I got adjusted to it and I had fun. The Spanish courses at Eureka Academy were great, although I am a Native Spanish speaker I learned some new words and had a great time there. I was at a great location too, minutes away from Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and Gran Via. The other major attractions like the Prado Museum and Retiro Park were very close when taking the metro also. Overall great experience I loved it and loved Madrid.

I loved this internship & the program was amazing for the price. Although, I did have 1 big issue with the program. I was never told that housing could be co-ed. When I was informed on who my roommates would be, I was told it was 2 females. When arriving there was a male living there and the program coordinator told me there was nothing he could do and that I should’ve asked for female only living, when I never knew that was something I would have to clarify. Besides this I loved Barcelona

I was able to work in surgery, pediatrics, urgent care, and long-term care. It was eye-opening to see how these systems run overseas and get valuable patient connection time. The doctors were accommodating and wanted to engage with me however they could.

I could move around to many different hospital sections and work with incredible people. Besides that, my Spanish level increased by a lot and I was able to experience a different culture and immerse myself in it completely.

This was definitely a great experience! It was great exploring Edinburgh and I made great friends. I believe I was the first student in the Ag Business program so the placement wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but I still had a great time. The company I worked with were so nice and I got to see a lot of farms around Scotland which was amazing. The only complaint I have to Adelante is that they really don’t give you a ton of information about certain things. I had no idea about what I would be doing in my placement, who I would be working with, and certain things about the housing situation. Also the housing didn’t come with basic cooking staples like seasoning, cooking oil etc. otherwise the housing was great and super close to downtown which was nice. This program was still worth it, I made great friends and got to see so much of Scotland!

I had a great time in Edinburgh through Adelante Abroad. I found it very last minute but I am so glad I decided to commit as I met some friends that I would consider myself very close to, was able to have an internship, become more independent, live in a new place, and explore new places and landscapes all in one trip.

Going in, I wasn’t quite sure of what to expect for our placement because we were prefaced with several possibilities. However, our supervisor was extremely friendly, helpful, and set up our research in such a way that we were able to travel to new places to do research which allowed us to both work and experience Scotland to the fullest.

It was a valuable experience in which I was able to explore my chosen future career path hands on, and immerse myself in an entirely new and alluring culture. Growing both professionally, and as an individual.

The study abroad program was a great time! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. It's an awesome way to get to know others interested in the same things you are, while also being guided through a new area and culture of the world. Highly recommended for anyone interested in golf and the world around it.

This was by far the best trip that I have ever been on!! With the help of all the staff at SRUC Elmwood is was very easy and quick to get integrated into the program and comfortable in a new country. They also taught us about so much about the world of golf. From the history of golf itself, to the coaching, to taking with General Managers and Head Greenskeepers of facilities to get a behind the scenes look at the workings of a golf course. On top of that playing some of the best golf courses the world has to offer. There was so much information and experiences that were done over the month in Scotland that created countless memories that I will remember forever.

I never could have imagined this trip ending up the way it has. I have don't everything I imagined I would up here and so much more. I have learned a ton, improved my game, and made friends for life. I highly encourage anyone who can to take this opportunity.

Everything about this trip was worth it! I was able to play my dream courses (The Old Course and Carnoustie), as well as explore courses that are true hidden gems, but you will have to come see those for yourselves... The instructors care so much about seeing you succeed, and I have made connections here that I hope will last a lifetime. This trip is a MUST for anyone who is interested in pursuing something in the golf industry, or simply just loves the game of golf. There was also plenty of free time to be able to explore all the beauty Scotland has to offer. We went into Edinburgh for the weekend and were able to learn so much about the culture and history of the place we were calling home for a month. This trip can be whatever you make it. There are countless opportunities to personalize it to fit each person with the common denominator of loving golf!

This has been the experience of a life time! I am not a great golfer by any means but the high level training we have access to and world renowned courses we have played are top notch. The courses are also very informative from the deep history of golf to coaching kids in golf the classes use real world experience at an excellent level.

This study abroad trip blew away my expectations. From start to finish it just got better and better as the days went on. I loved every aspect of this trip, the classes that we took and the courses that we were able to play and see. I would recommend this opportunity to anyone that is interested and I would say to take advantage of the opportunity while you can. I never thought I would be able to do something like this and I am just really happy I chose to do it. 10/10 would recommend.

I absolutely loved this program and would do it again in a heart beat. Meeting new people and making friends with people from my own country was a great but getting to know the instructors and learning from them was amazing. I got to travel to the highlands and down to England with new friends. Highly recommend!!!

I absolutely loved studying abroad in Scotland! The facilities, instructors, and of course horses were amazing! I really enjoyed riding and classes. I also loved exploring the city of Edinburgh and making day trips to visit the highlands and other fun places to visit! I highly recommend, especially is you love horses!

The equine study abroad is a great program for students who want a shorter time abroad. The staff is amazing and very accommodating in all areas especially in the riding, all levels are welcome. The classes are long and very fast paced, but they limit work outside of class to make sure that you have time to enjoy being abroad. There are multiple long weekends where you can travel and they also plan day trips for you as well. be prepared and be flexible, public transportation can be difficult as there are limited bus options, it takes normally close to an hour to get into Edinburgh and it is nearly impossible to get an Uber from campus. Overall, it is a great program and the flexibility lets you make the trip yours!

I had such a fun month here in Scotland riding horses, hanging out with the big group of us, and traveling to london and the highlands on the weekend. SRUC is located pretty far from anything else, except the local pub. On the nights when we didnt have anything planned we would go out to edinburgh and experience scotland. The food is not the best so when they take you to the grocery store, stock up on everything.

Staying at Oatridge was fun because of the friends I made and the experiences we had together. I wasn't expecting it to be so hard or expensive to get to Edinburgh as the school doesn't have a shuttle or anything, and there's absolutely nothing to do at school that doesn't involve a 30 minute walk. Aside from that, we were able to have some fun experiences going into Edinburgh or taking buses to the nearest town or doing the hike up Binny Craig and watching planes come in and take off from the airport.

With the combination of fun and educational this program is a must for anyone wanting to study abroad for a short while! The courses though challenging at times are structured well and the instructors are kind and knowledgeable. The campus is small, but this allowed for close connections and encouraged me to interact with my peers. Transportation was tough at times (far walks to train, bus inconsistent), but so worth it to take a trip into the city. The weekends were filled with both planned activities and trips to other countries that we took on our own. Overall, this experience was 100% worth it and I recommend it to all of my fellow adventurers!

The trip was so amazing! Not only were the classes amazing, but the people were so nice! The experience was worth the money. I had never ridden a horse before, but they were very helpful and helped me learn so much. I would recommend to anyone who needs experience with horses.

The small campus allowed me to get to know new people and was in a quiet and peaceful area. The walking trail up to Binny Craig was one of my favorite parts of the trip, it has a beautiful view. The classes were informational and the teachers were great with keeping a good pace with homework and there was some good hands on learning as well. Riding here was super fun, I enjoyed riding the different horses and learning from other trainers.

I had a great time and would recommend to students that are non equine majors and equine majors! The staff, students and horses were so great and I would do it all over again! Great access to the city with so much to do. Easy access to train stations to go outside of edinburgh, highly recommend London to see a show on the west end!

I thought that this program was so much. I learned a lot about myself and got to explore my interest in horses in greater detail. The staff here at the college were very supportive and is always willing to help us out. My only complaint about this program is the food which can be bland and unappealing at time.

I had an amazing time at the SRUC Oatridge campus. We constantly had something going on, whether it was jump lessons at the yard, hanging around in town with the local students, or going on small weekend trips to places like Inverness and London. The opportunities here are limitless. I did not know what to expect in terms of the curriculum before starting class; Classes were a little bit of review and a lot of new information. I truly learned more in this program than I have in some classes back at home.

I would recommend Adelante Abroad to anyone who is considering an internship abroad in Madrid. Was grateful for my two weeks at the language school (Eureka). Adelante Abroad takes the hassle out of interning abroad and sets up your placement and accommodations. My internship in Madrid helped me realize where to shift my focus to coming back to USA.

I felt like my internship was extremely unique because not only did I learn a lot with Fernando Fanego at his office, but, he really gave me a hands-on experience by taking me with him to court proceedings and elections for the lawyer society of Madrid. He took me in as his ward and introduced me to countless attornies, businessmen, and people who share a similar mentality of professionalism as we do, which was much appreciated.

My internship in Spain was a phenomenal one. It was interesting for me because I was doing some deep thinking to see if Law was something that I wanted to pursue. I feel that by taking this internship I was able to see things more clearly with what I wanted to accomplish. I'm very thankful that Adelante helped me understand what I was looking for in a career.

I have to admit, leaving my home for two months and living on the other side of the world was a scary experience at first. However, being faithful and excited about my experience, I dove into this new life of mine head-first. From the start, I realized how easy it was for me to transition into this new world due to my advanced Spanish skills. Everyone in Madrid was friendly, charismatic, and open to people from all over the world. Through the program at Eureka Spanish School, I met so many excellent people from all different walks of life: people older than me, younger than me, and all of them from different cultures and backgrounds. My living situation was a fun experience with a full house of students from Germany, England, Italy, France, and fellow Americans! We all got along so well and created friendships that will last a lifetime. As for my internship, I feel like I got placed in an incredible situation with Fernando Fanego. He was a joy to be around and the stories he taught me about his illustrious Law Career were stupendous. I indeed learned a lot from him about the career but also crucial lessons of life. By also exploring the city with my group of friends, I found so much appreciation for Madrid and Spain.

I had an amazing time overall in Uruguay. My internship was absolutely perfect for me, directly relating to my career goals. My one notable complaint is that the housing situation was advertised as being 5-8 American students, but it was a 3-bedroom home, with one bedroom being for the Spanish teacher, and one a student from Holland. The living dynamic ended up being fine for me, but it was falsely advertised by the study abroad provider.

The company that I interned with in Ecuador was dedicated to the democratization of society through increased awareness of individual rights and services that exist to overcome gender-based and ethnic inequalities. As an intern I was responsible for assisting with organizing events, editing and designing infographs and translating documents. Due to my interest in the field of politics and human rights I was intrigued to understand the socio-political issues in Ecuador and how they compare to the United States. As such I was very grateful to have this direct and meaningful experience within Ecuador itself. The people that I worked with at CEDEAL were extremely welcoming and went so far as to include me in weekly office meetings. Due to this welcoming environment I felt comfortable engaging with colleagues, asking questions and taking initiative to offer my services in the ways that I thought would be most beneficial to the company.

My time in Ecuador with Adelante Abroad was an unforgettable experience that fulfilled all of my hopes and expectations. Despite being much more affordable than other programs, the services provided 2 meals a day, personalized internship placement in the field of my choice, accommodating housing in a safe and accessible neighborhood of the Ecuadorian capital, one on one Spanish classes at the beginning of my stay and multiple personal resources in Quito that I could reach out to with any concern or in case of emergency. In addition to exploring the city, the affordability and flexibility of the program allowed me to visit some of Ecuador’s most popular destinations including Cotopaxi, Mitad del Mundo, and Baños. I was also able to easily plan a trip to the Galapagos to add on to the end of my program which was truly an incredible experience. For my internship I was able to communicate professionally in Spanish while working directly with locals to address issues negatively impacting vulnerable communities. As someone who was unable to study abroad due to COVID, I am immensely grateful for this internship that allowed me to augment my Spanish communication, work experience, and confidence and to visit so many amazing places.

Working in Spain has always been a dream of mine ever since I learned Spanish and Adelante was able to make it a reality. From start to finish they helped out with all the steps when it came to location, housing and work placement. In addition to finding an internship in a new country, they also help people connect with others in the same city with the help of the required 2 week Spanish courses. These schools not only help you brush up on your Spanish skills before jumping into the work environment, but they also help you meet a ton of new people who are also doing the same thing as you! With all that being said, Adelante did have a couple issues with the pre-planning. I was suppose to know my future company and job before flying over, however, this did not end up being the case and I had to go without knowing when/what my job would be. In the end, everything turned out fine and I really enjoyed my internship.

Last year in 2021, I decided to go back to school and go for my master’s degree in accounting and started applying for internships and jobs, but they never selected me due to my lack of experience. That is when I decided to apply for an Internship in Madrid. I was scared initially but willing to face and enjoy this new experience. I was supposed to take Spanish classes for the first two weeks, but I only took one week since Spanish is my first language. Everybody was friendly, and I met other students from different countries who were trying to learn Spanish and helped them practice. Within a week of arriving in Madrid, the program found an intern position for me at a film institute, where I learned a lot; I assisted with day-to-day financial transactions, including recording payments in their system. My place of work had a great environment, and everybody treated me like family. Overall, I had an excellent experience. When I was not working, I explored Madrid and other cities such as Segovia, Toledo, EL Escorial, Alcalá de Henares, and Barcelona. I even went to other countries such as Italy and Portugal. I also got to experience Christmas there, which was beautiful. Madrid was always full of life; there was always something to do. My apartment was in the heart of the city, a few steps away from Sol and it was very convenient. I loved walking around to Retiro Park all the time, loved having tapas, tinto de verano, and churros with chocolate. I also joined hiking groups and made two hiking trips to the mountains. We went to Monte Abantos in El Escorial and Sietes Picos in Cercedilla, which was an incredible experience; I met people from all over the world and shared our experiences. Furthermore, the housing situation was good; I shared an apartment with several other students whom I keep in contact with to this day. So, to conclude, I went back home and started applying for new jobs, and thanks to my experiences as an intern in Madrid, I received three offers. This experience was undoubtedly worth it and paid off – the best time of my life.

Living in Spain has been a dream of mine since I was younger. One day I came across Adelante Abroad and knew that was my opportunity to do so. I have loved the culture and people in Madrid more than I could have ever imagined. My internship has also been a great experience, as it is in the same field I have been in, being able to work in Spanish now fully is the best experience I could have gotten. I also love how much more relaxing the work environment is than in the US. Finally, being here has made me even more independent than I ever have been. Having to be there for myself, and not knowing people here really makes you get out of your comfort zone more. I have been able to make so many friends and memories traveling around to other parts of Spain and Europe. If you are someone who has been wanting to move abroad and get work and life experience, I highly recommend this program!

Learned and did a lot, but only at the end of the program in the last week. We got to shadow some amazing people that week and do some amazing things. The earlier weeks were just being passed around to varying agencies around the country with the intent to learn. Some was learned, most of it was confusion, since everyone was busy and had better things to worry about than us 2 interns.

The internship abroad working for a non-profit organization in Valparaiso, Chile was an incredible experience. The Director, Pamela, was responsive and helpful if you have any questions regarding your concerns while you are abroad, changes to your homestay, and travel suggestions. However, I did not like taking the Spanish courses in Chile, coming in as a graduate Spanish major, because I thought it was not worth my time, for example, learning the greetings and grammar. If you're a beginner, I would recommend this. The professors were great, but I would have changed this if I had the chance to start over and started early with the internship. On the other hand, I liked the part about learning Chilean Spanish, the names of their food, and their culture. I thought it was helpful compared to grammar in Spanish. Overall, I enjoyed my time in Chile. I loved my time there!

I had a lot of fun during my 3 month stay in Madrid. With my travel card I was able to visit towns outside of Madrid on the weekends when I had some spare time after my internship work. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the exact work experience that I wanted. However, the experience was nevertheless joyful. I met new friends and had a lot of fun learning Spanish at school. The biggest negative, however, was the housing. In the apartments no one had air conditioning - just fans. The fans did not help much, and it was horrible during the heatwave. Overall, it was excellent.

I had an excellent time in Barcelona. I was able to meet so many people and have a work experience that felt like a summer vacation. I didn't expect so many people from all kinds of backgrounds to be in Barcelona, something I did not find so easily in other parts of Europe. I will never forget this experience and am so happy I participated in it.

During this program you get the chance to put what you learned in the classroom and use it on the yard. The program gives you a lot of freedom and allows you to make the most of your trip if you want to. They have a healthy balance of classroom work and giving you time to explore the city. It is a little farther from the city then you think but it gives you the chance to experience public transportation, you must get into Uphall before getting into the city (which is a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride). Then from uphall you can take the 20 minute walk to the train station and then ride that 20 minute train ride into the city. Or you can take the bus from Uphall to Edinburgh, overall you won't get to the city in under an hour unless you get a cab. The field trips we took for class were fun, getting to see the steeplechase racing and getting to see the race yard was a highlight. Our group planned a lot of other trips on the weekend (Isle of Skye tour was my favorite) with some people also going to Ireland, or London for the weekend. With class from 9-12 and 1-4 you have time to explore a little of the city after class. I recommend booking these tours; Mary Kings Close, and The Vaults, another great activity is going to the surgeons hall museum. This trip is a great way to be independent and explore a fun and safe country.

I loved my time while participating in this program. The staff of the campus did an amazing job accommodating our needs, educating us and making a place so far from home feel a little bit more like it. I had never had any riding experience before this trip but the trainers and teachers were extremely patient and considerate of the range in experience among the group. I would recommend this experience to anyone that desired to participate in it. The classes, campus, experience of Scotland and community were amazing. Some things I wish I had known before: -To get to Edinburgh, you have either the option of taking a taxi or taking public transportation. The public transportation situation is doable but definitely requires forethought and planning. We either took 2 buses to get into the city or we took 1 bus, walked 20 minutes to the train station and then took the train. Taxis tend to be quicker but can be a bit pricey, though manageable if split between various people. -Shops close relatively early in Edinburgh. Most days, we get out of class around 3:30. By the time we take public transportation, we arrive in the city around 4:30. If you have a store that you're wanting to visit in the city, make sure to plan to visit on a day where you can get to the city before 3 PM (to allow for adequate time). -Bring a variety of clothes! Pack jeans, a light weight jacket, a heavier jacket, a rain jacket, comfortable walking shoes that are warm and lightweight clothes that can be layered.

I had an amazing time on campus learning from the instructors and exploring the country. The public transportation and cab companies were the most irritating to deal with. Other than that I greatly enjoyed the tours that I went on and the people I got to know during my stay. I got to do things that I wasn't able to the last time I was here and take my time to really be in the moment. I would highly recommend this experience to others even if they are not looking for equine specifically. All of the staff was wonderful through every step of the trip and very accommodating whenever there were problems or questions.

I loved that we spent a lot of our class time doing practical work with the horses. I enjoyed the riding activities, but they were different than I was expecting. My background is in classical dressage, so when the program said the riding would have classical elements, I expected it to have similarities. It was not the case at all. I felt like I learned a completely new riding style, which had benefits, but it was not quite what I had in mind when I signed up for the program. I also wish that our class in anatomy and physiology delved deeper into components that were unique to the horse. It was a lot of review from my human bio classes. It also would have been nice for the organization of the day to be different to allow ease in getting into Edinburgh. Since class did not get out until 4 pm and dinner was at 4:45, it was difficult to see many of the sights of Edinburgh that closed at 5 pm. Overall, though, I loved my time here and am very sad to be leaving. Some of the information given before we left was also a little misleading. It sounded like campus was very close to Edinburgh and could easily be accessed, but it took 60-90 minutes most days using public transport to get into the city. Our taxis sometimes got lost trying even to find our campus. Additionally, the RideACard should not be recommended for students, since it made it sound like it would give us unlimited bus rides to and from campus into Edinburgh, but it only counted for travel within Edinburgh. Lastly, it would be beneficial if the itinerary could be handed out earlier than one month before departure, or at least have the free weekends marked, so we can book our trips more in advance. With only a month before departure, many of the tours and hostels we wanted to stay at were booked full.

I had an amazing time here. I learned a lot and had so much fun traveling around here. I had never ridden english before so this was all new. They were very patient with us. I came in with some equine A&P knowledge but I definitely was able to broaden that knowledge. The equine fitness was all new to me. I learned a lot about making a fitness plan to get a horse ready for different types of competitions.

Things I loved: The staff at SRUC are incredible and extremely helpful. We were given plenty of time to explore as well as study during our stay. Things I wish I knew beforehand: Edinburgh is at least 40 minutes away no matter what form of transportation you are taking. The dorms are not equipped with A/C or heat, which is not a big deal but would've been nice to know. The shower in my flat had a single button that needed to be pushed every 15 seconds to keep the water running. Cabs and buses are not reliable on showing up on time or stopping where they are supposed to.

This trip was amazing. I learned so much about Scottish culture, public transport, and city life. I loved living here for an entire month. It was so interesting to immerse myself in the life of a Scottish local. On top of the destination, the equine science program was innovate. I learned new techniques and new handling measures to go by. I loved this experience, it was truly once in a lifetime.

This was an amazing, once in a life time opportunity that I am so happy I did. One thing I wish Adelante had told us more about was the cost of transportation to and from the city and how long it would take to get to Edinburgh. Make sure you study bus times and train times. Overall, this experience was amazing and I learned so much in my short time here from the course material and the people in Edinburgh.

I think there were just things that weren’t communicated about the program that should’ve. For example the level of riding experience/knowledge for classes. As a pre-med student with no riding experience i felt constantly lost and behind. However the staff was amazing the whole way through. I think if adelante would’ve had better communication on how we should prepare for this program i would’ve felt better. I also had no luggage for 3 out of 4 weeks but the staff was so wonderful here about it. I think more instructions on what to expect for packing would’ve been nice as well.

I had an amazing experience in Scotland on the equine program. The anatomy & physiology course was very informative, although much of the non-horse specific content was a review from previous courses. Although initially preparing for the assessment was slightly stressful, the assessment itself was fair and Louise and Rowan well-prepared us for the assessment. Both of the instructors for the course were amazing and I couldn't speak higher praises of them! The fitness course was all new material for me but Jen and Gillian presented the information and provided feedback in a manner that helped us to grow and understand the new field! They were both amazing instructors and helped us to correct our fitness plans and complete our workbook assessment without too much of an overload of new content at once. I loved living in the Scottish countryside with ample hiking opportunities and great food (although there are a lot of chips). The accommodations were private with private bathrooms which was very nice but we still had community areas available to utilize. The temperature was warmer than I expected with an average of 60s Fahrenheit. I wish I had brought more warmer weather clothing than I did. There is no central air in the flats, but I didn't mind the temperature at all. As someone with limited riding experience, I was worried for the riding portion but Sam was always very supportive of everyone and tailored the lessons to your skill level and comfort! During my free weekends, I visited Inverness and the Isle of Skye and Northern Ireland and I highly recommend both locations! One point to note is that the Oatridge campus is in rural West Lothian and it takes approximately an hour to 90 minutes by bus to get to Edinburgh depending on the wait time. We did spend a lot time waiting on buses and taxis which showed up sporadically sometimes rather early or late. The X18 bus into Edinburgh from Uphall was particularly bad at showing up on time. Although I was able to plan my time, I do wish that the full itinerary had been released earlier to allow for more planning and cheaper prices as much of the accommodation and many tours were booked out by the time we had the schedule. Overall, I had a great experience and everyone I met from the faculty and staff to my new friends here have been great, kind, and supportive! I highly recommend this study abroad to Scotland!

The country of Scotland is peaceful and beautiful and there is so much to do and see! It has exciting city life but also stunning greenery on the countryside. In hindsight I feel like some things in the program were not advertised appropriately. Edinburgh is 45 minutes from campus and not 20 minutes as stated. It also takes closer to an hour or an hour and a half to get there if you don't take a taxi straight there because you have to use multiple forms of transportation to get to the city (i.e. take 2 separate buses to get you there, or walk 30 minutes to the bus station, or bus then walk 25 min to the train station). Getting to the city was not as easy or as cheap as advertised, and public transportation was often unreliable. This is not the college's fault of course, I just think it was falsely advertised by the program. I also would have preferred to be advised ahead of time that there is no air conditioning in any of the buildings. We were also out of hot water in our flat for about a week, despite maintenance coming to fix it multiple times. It was moreso just inconvenient. but the professors did want to ensure it was fixed right away. The staff at SRUC planned plenty of fun things for us to do and were very accommodating. They were incredible - so kind and helpful, we all loved them! They made us feel right at home and made learning fun. They also wanted to ensure we experienced as much as possible and got the most out of our trip. They planned so many fun things for us to do during our stay! Overall I had a very positive experience, and I will remember this trip forever!

I loved it! I felt like I really experienced Scotland especially with all the pre-planned activities! I had never rode before this trip and immediately felt comfortable with the staff. I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the country and with people that had all different types of backgrounds with horses. We had a pretty rigors school schedule but once we got here we would get out of class early or even have built in study time so we could reach the city and also get some learning in!

I had an incredible experience during my time abroad and formed so many new connections with others on the trip. I really enjoyed how much riding time was provided during the week and how we were driven to some other locations around Scotland. Even though the classes were long, it was broken up by time in the yard and time in class which was extremely helpful with the learning process. My favorite day in the program was when we got to go to the races and watch horses that we had previously met compete. I thought any concerns about the program or scheduling during my 4 weeks here were answered clearly and all the staff were kind and helpful.

I learned about this study abroad opportunity during my first visits to Mizzou, and I really looked forward to applying for this trip!! Being over here for this past month has taught me so much about English riding and fitness, two things that I have not been exposed to much back home. The staff were always super helpful, and never hesitated to assist in any issues that we came across, and made us feel at home! The classwork was super interesting, as it either built upon my current knowledge or expanded my knowledge even more. I absolutely adored it, and highly recommend it to future students!

There's a lot of good to be said about this internship experience. The supervisors at Queen Margaret University for the Psychology program were fantastic and the work was enjoyable and engaging. The housing was right in the heart of Edinburgh with access to everything you could possibly want to explore and discover. Very grateful to have gotten the chance to spend 6 weeks assisting in research and for all of the opportunities I was provided with during my time in Scotland.

I had such an amazing time here and I am so sad that it is time to leave! The relationships I made at Apex vets as well as the other students through Adelante have all been wonderful and I am so happy with my placement! I know some of the others were unhappy with their placements but I think it really depends on the location for each person as practices run very differently!

I learned so much at Apex vets despite coming in with a lot of experience and all of the staff were so amazing! I got so much hands-on experience and it was so amazing to have such a large role at the hospital!

Had a great time in Scotland thanks to Adelante. The internship was interesting and in line with my goals. I worked on literature reviews and hypothesis formulations with a nice professor. The weekends were full of adventures and lots of exposure to the rich Scottish culture.

First, I would like to start with verifying that Adelante is a legit agency, and I will do so because I was worried at the beginning that these opportunities were a fraud. But they weren't!! I'll leave this info just in case anyone else has the same doubts that I had. I took an internship on social work in Chile, and it turned out to be one magical experience after the other. I travelled to San Pedro de Atacama, Santiago, La Serena, huilo huilo, and Puerto Varas, and I can tell you that all of them are so beautiful that they must be on everyone's bucket list. My work environment was awesome, and my coworkers made feel welcomed all the time. Just watch out the chilenismos because some are very difficult to understand. Jokes aside, I am very glad I had the chance to take this opportunity because it was amazing and insightful. My internship allowed me to refine my social skills, but most importantly, I also learned a lot of things about myself. Things that I thought I was not going to be able to do, I did them anyway. I travelled around Chile almost very weekend as I mentioned, and for me, that had a huge impact because it was the first time I had to plan all the trip, search for hotels, and make the reservations by my own. Those experiences may seem trivial, but you will later see that you can apply every little thing you learn even in your work environment, as it happened to me. If you are planning to take an internship abroad, take it. You can only gain and learn more about the history of a country, its culture, and its people.

I came to live in Madrid and did an internship that involved teaching Spanish children English. It was really rewarding to know that something I was doing was benefitting these children. This was a fun experience and I recommend it!

I decided to come and live in Spain for 3 months, and it was the greatest decision! I lived in Madrid, the beautiful capital, but also got to experience other cities in Spain such as Segovia, Barcelona and Toledo. I definitely recommend coming to do an internship in Spain, it has been an unforgettable experience.

Coming to Madrid for 3 months was the best decision I ever made. I have made friends with people from around the world and have greatly improved my Spanish. This was my first time living by myself, and I can safely say that it has prepared me for university and for future life, as I have had to cook, clean and food-shop for myself. I loved living in and experiencing the culture of Spain!

Interning abroad with Adelante was the experience of a lifetime. I interned as a mechanical engineering student at a creative coworking lab called Makerspace where I got to collaborate on innovative projects using 3D printers, laser cutters, and other cool tools with my coworkers in the lab. I also had the wonderful experience of leading a workshop in Spanish on 3D design in SolidWorks. My coworkers were extremely welcoming and made a strong effort to help me navigate Chilean culture and traveling as well as spending time with me outside of work! COVID definitely had a negative impact on the experience, as it made travel difficult and made half of my time at the internship virtual. Also, there were very few participants in the program, so it was a struggle to find friends to do things with. Nonetheless, the experience was overall very rewarding, and I highly recommend this program.

My time abroad was such a great experience! I was really happy with my psychology internship placement where I learned a lot! I was able to work with some of the best Psychiatrists and Psychologists in Madrid. My housing placement was perfect as it was right in the center of Madrid. I only wish I was able to spend more time abroad, everything was perfect!

My experience in Seville was extremely beneficial. I feel like I grew as a person and became more independant as a result of the pressure put on me to discover the city, make new friends and manage my finances. The program offered many oportunities to meet new people, and in general, Seville is an excellent city to meet other students and interns from around the world.

I spent 3 months in Uruguay, interning with a law firm in Punta del Este. The firm I interned with was the first firm to receive recognition for its continuous improvement and quality management by the National Institute of Quality (INACAL). It was an honor to collaborate with a firm with such recognition. My internship placement was flexible, and the team communicated with me well. I received university credit for my internship. Accordingly, I had to meet an hour requirement. My firm was happy to accommodate my hours and fill out all forms I needed for the university. As for Uruguay, it is a beautiful country. I have traveled to several countries in Latin America on multiple occasions, and my trip to Uruguay was the smoothest. Plus, the people were always willing to talk with me so that I could practice my Spanish. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful internship experience.

I entered this program to learn about what being a psychologist is like. Understandably, this is a difficult task, due to the confidential nature of the work. Despite this, through Adelante, I was able to spend time with two psychologists in Oaxaca learning from them, shadowing their sessions, and even conducting my own therapy sessions. I would recommend adelante as they work diligently to ensure you have a positive and impactful experience. I did not feel I had a major impact doing the work, but this was less due to Adelante and more due to the nature of the work. If you are like me and are thinking of pursuing a career related to counseling, I would recommend this program. I know I would not have been able to have this experience in the US. I spent three months in Oaxaca studying psychology. Understandably, this is a difficult discipline to study as an intern due to the often confidential nature of the work. Despite this, I felt that the program coordinator Carlos did a great job connecting me with local psychologists to learn, assist with presentations, practice Spanish, observe therapy sessions, and even lead sessions on my own. I wanted to learn what it would be like to work as a psychologist and I feel Adelante helped me reach this goal. I also was afforded plenty of time and flexibility to travel throughout Oaxaca and to spend time with my brilliant housemates. The language courses were much-needed and I felt much more prepared going into my work placement having that introduction. The best part of this experience for me was the housing placement. Myself and the girls I lived with were placed with an extremely hospitable family from Oaxaca. Talking with them was the best practice I had for my Spanish. They were also some of the most pleasant people I have met and I felt they really embraced me as part of the family. If you are thinking of traveling with adelante, I recommend it. It was extremely affordable compared to other programs I have seen. The process was as stress-free as possible, from the pre-departure materials and interviews, the arrival and integration with language classes, and the departure, everything was well-organized. It was also important to me to have independence and to be able to tailor the program to my goals, and this was fulfilled. Everyone I worked with from Adelante was pleasant and helpful. If I decide to study away again, I will likely choose adelante. If you are thinking of traveling to Oaxaca, also, I recommend it. Some of the best food I’ve had on my travels, some of the kindest people I’ve met, and some of the best places to visit, from the vibrant city to the ruins to the mushroom mountains and to the beaches on both sides. One could spend a lot of time studying and traveling Oaxaca, and by the end, they will want to make it home. Carlos was great as a program coordinator. If you have any concerns about speaking Spanish, I entered the program knowing a decent amount of Spanish but mostly unable to communicate at all with native speakers without great trouble. My Internship in Madrid was one of the best things I did. As part of my Year Abroad for University I participated in this programme with Adelante and even during Covid I managed to experience a fulfilled work environment in a bakery. Adelante and Eureka both advertise a variety of social outings and gatherings which was also greatly appreciated in the first few weeks.

I did a legal internship in Oaxaca for three months with Adelante and it exceeded my expectations. I met the best people and lived in a great location with a kind host family and the best internship placement. My spanish has definitely improved thanks to the spanish lessons at the beginning as well as all the other people I met including those at my internship who were very patient and taught me a lot of legal and complex terms. If you are independent and enjoy exploring the city and having great opportunities for cultural immersion and meeting new people this is definitely a great program and excellent value for money. It really helped with my university application and I will definitely be returning to Oaxaca!

I did a legal internship in Oaxaca for three months and had the best time. I had great roommates, a kind host family and the best internship placement. The spanish lessons at the beginning were so helpful and I can definitely say that my spanish has improved and I also learnt so much from my internship. The internship isn't too intense and leaves you with plenty of time to explore the city and participate in other classes and activities. This was the experience of a lifetime, really helped with my university application and I will definitely be returning to Oaxaca!

I completed Spanish courses and a social media and promotion internship with a Spanish language school in Maldonado, Uruguay right near Punta del Este. I lived in the school residence for 3 months. I loved the neighborhood and being so close to the beach! The work environment I experienced was very flexible, which is a plus as I mostly made my own hours and worked from the garden of the school. The negative of this was that it sometimes lacked structure and feedback. I do think my language skills improved through writing in Spanish for posts and a newsletter as I was provided with corrections. I also was able to meet other international travelers learning Spanish and speak with them, which was super interesting. Uruguay is a beautiful country with a lot of different places to explore. My favorite weekend trips were to Colonia del Sacramento, a cobblestone street city lined with bright colored buildings, and Cabo Polonio, a secluded beach town with a lot of sea lions!

I really enjoyed my time abroad in Seville and especially at UPO! My host mother was wonderful and Seville is a fantastic place to live. Everything is within walking distance or easily accessible by the metro, and it's very safe (even at night). There are a couple of things I wish I had known before coming, though - international students typically don't take classes with Spanish students and are actually on a different semester schedule, so although there is the opportunity for language exchange partners, it was a lot harder to actually be immersed in Spanish than I expected. Additionally, the add/drop dates for classes are very short, only 1-2 days of class, so it's hard to switch Spanish classes if you end up in the wrong level. That being said, all of my professors were wonderful and we also had Fridays off every week, which meant we were able to travel much more easily! Adelante did give us the wrong semester dates during the summer, which meant I had to switch my flights after coming to Spain, but they did send me a refund for those additional costs. However, they also recommended that students not apply for visas after the semester dates had been extended, which I was uncomfortable with given that we stayed past the 90 days allowed for tourists. I ended up getting a student visa regardless and am glad that I did (and would also recommend future students to do so)! It's also worth noting that a couple of things advertised on Adelante's website or in the orientation packet didn't end up happening, like the first-week meeting with the on-site director. A couple of other things to note are that the 2 meals provided are usually either breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner, so I would definitely recommend bringing a container or two for lunch and some packable utensils. Meals at the cafeterias are around $5, so although they're decently cheap on occasion, they're less affordable on a daily basis. Seville also does get cold, so I would recommend packing warmer clothes! It stays a lot warmer than most of the US, but because a lot of buildings and home stays don't have much indoor heating, it can still be really cold indoors. Also, everything outdoors is built to channel wind so it stays cool enough during the summer - which is great, but means the fall/winter can be freezing if you're outside!

Studying in Barcelona was an amazing opportunity that I will forever be grateful for. The language school we attended, Kingsbrook, was amazing and I learned so much in my first two weeks there. Kingsbrook is also an amazing way to meet and make friends from all around the world. I did not have the best luck with my internship, it was pretty far away (close to an hour and a half one way), and I really did not learn anything, especially anything that would be beneficial to my career. Some of that is out of the program's control, but I do wish I was met with more understanding when expressing my concerns. The house we were originally placed in was also not clean, as advertised, but this was quickly taken care of and we were able to find new living arrangements. The experience is definitely what you make it and it's important to explore, make new friends and go out of your comfort zone. Adelante has great pricing for all that is included and a program that I would recommend, I just wish the communication was better.

I spent an amazing one month and one week in Barcelona and had the time of my life. While abroad, I studied in a small language school called Kingsbrook Idiomas and met so many different students from all over the world (over 12 different countries to be exact). The school had a variety of students from young to old and we all became fast friends. I took classes twice a day, 5 days a week with the most wonderful teachers and explored the city through different excursions once a week with my class. From beach days to bike tours, we did it all! Being a part of this program has given me the opportunity to improve my Spanish in both an educational setting and in a social one. It was amazing to be able to talk with people from all over the world and know that it is Spanish that has allowed us to connect. I was placed with awesome room-mates and the living space was average but comfortable. Traveling through Adelante was a very pleasant experience; from airport pickup to providing living accommodations and classes. I would recommend taking the leap to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity, and don't forget to soak up every minute because time sure does fly when you're having fun.

I absolutely loved my experience living in Sevilla through the Adelante Abroad program. This is not your typical study abroad program in which they hold your hand throughout the entire process. You are expected to be completely independent and self-sufficient, and the contacts that you have in your city are simply there for any questions or support that you may need. I loved the structure of the Adelante program because it enabled me to really immerse myself in the city like a local rather than only learning about the surface level/touristy aspects of Sevilla. The only Americans that I interacted with in my 3 months were my roommates and of the friends I made were from all around the world. I don't know of another program where I would have had the opportunity to completely make my own experience. The simplicity of the program (in which they find you housing and internship placement and then leave you on your own) is also what makes this one of the most affordable abroad experiences. My university has a 5-week program in Sevilla that was 3 times the cost of Adelante and not half as immersive. That being said, if you are planning on doing an Adelante Internship you should be aware that the lack of structure in the program means you have to figure out everything on your own--food, travel logistics, budgeting, safety, socializing, etc. Your program is completely what you make of it, so make sure you are prepared to be pushed way out of your comfort zone. For me, this was the perfect program and if I could go back in time I would have done the exact same program over again.

I know- it's cliché- but Adelante Abroad was truly a life-changing experience. Leading up to, and throughout the entirety of my trip, Adelante's staff was exceptionally supportive and well organized. Every step of the way, I knew exactly what I was getting into. I always felt completely prepared. As far as Ecuador and my actual internship goes, all I can say is WOW. Don't get me wrong- I had my challenges, but my internship, albeit short, provided me with newfound education and skills I could have never gained in the states. I had the opportunity to learn from highly-knowledgeable, highly-skilled individuals every single day. When I wasn't working, I was fully immersed in the Ecuadorian culture. Somedays that was simply cooking with my host family and other days it was hiking Rucu Pichincha. All in all, come time to leave, I just... didn't want to go home. At the moment, I'm getting back into my daily routine. While it's strange not to wake up in this beautiful country I called home for 2 months, I feel that I've grown into an individual who my younger self would be proud to know. I thank Adelante Abroad for that.

I honestly had the best time of my life. Going to Barcelona was the best choice I ever made. I made so many new friends and had an amazing experience teaching English. My housing was the only issue. Although I loved all of my roommates, the house itself was very dirty and unorganized. Other than that I loved every bit of Barcelona.

I signed up to do a Journalism/Social Media and Marketing internship with Adelante Abroad in Barcelona. Unfortunately, I wasn't placed with a magazine which would have been preferable, however the language school I worked at gave me free lessons alongside my internship which was a huge bonus and definitely improved my Spanish. I also took on responsibilities alongside writing articles in marketing and administration which will be good for my CV. I was a bit late to apply, but it might have been nice to explore options for Journalism in Madrid and Sevilla as well during the application process. Accommodation was probably where the experience fell down. Don't expect to get the full package: a central location, other international students and a level of cleanliness. This isn't Adelante's fault, more the agent they work with and the pandemic that has reduced their pool of accommodation, but it is something you should bear in mind if you're used to living in "style". However, I made lots of great friends and lived in an amazing city for three months. It's a good place to start your journey, but I would have more to something more independent after the first couple of months if I was staying longer.

This is my 6th week in Madrid and honestly I love it. This is not only my first time in Madrid, but also Europe so naturally I was pretty nervous. However, Adelante was very insightful and specific when answering my questions. I love my apartment. The location is in the middle of the city with many shops and right by two train stops. My internship placement was directly related to my previous work experience. My supervisor was very kind and a true inspiration. You can tell she’s truly passionate about her business. Ángel, the director in Madrid, was literally an angel because he helped with every question and concern I had. He really does care for the students and interns. There’s an overall support system here. I look forward to working with Adelante in the future.

I had a fantastic 3 months working with a coworking company in the city center of Oaxaca de Juarez. Adelante did a fantastic job with assigning me an internship programme as my boss and colleagues were very accommodating and gave me a great experience over my time in Mexico. The city itself is wonderful with amazing food, incredible people and fantastic weather! I cannot recommend this city enough - it feels like a second home to me only after three months living here. Working in a Spanish speaking country is definitely the best way to improve your ability. The lessons I received when I arrived in the country were a great boost and pushed me on to learn more during my day to day life. I have improved leaps and bounds over my time here and its now given me the motivation to keep learning! Overall I can highly recommend the overall experience. I have gained valuable knowledge both in business and in Spanish proficiency and I am very grateful to Adelante for all their work putting it all together. Thank you!

I have had a great experience interning abroad with a civil engineering and architecture company. My hours are flexible, allowing me to take time off to show my parents, who visited me, around the city, and enjoy a long weekend at one of the many beautiful places in Ecuador. My host family has been incredible! My host mom has helped me drastically improve my Spanish speaking skills, cooks delicious traditional food, and provides insight into life in Ecuador and where to visit. I have spent every weekend visiting somewhere different and exploring the rich culture of Ecuador. This experience has been life changing and I cannot wait to return to Latin America.

Working for a civil engineering and architecture firm in Ecuador was the best way I could have spend the summer before my senior year of college. The program staff did a great job of preparing me for what my experience was going to be like abroad. My time in Ecuador stated with two weeks of one-on-one Spanish classes which dramatically improved my ability to speak the language. I lived with an Ecuadorian family which also helped improved my Spanish skills. My host mom cooked incredible traditional food and informed me on the best places to visit throughout my time. During my internship, I learned specific vocabulary necessary for working in a construction field, learned the differences between construction and engineering requirements in Ecuador and in the States, and learned how to communicate professionally in Spanish. I spent all of my weekends exploring different cities and places in Ecuador and learning more about their culture. These two months were an incredible experience and I cannot wait to return to Latin America.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries around the world were shutting down teaching programs for health and safety reasons. Adelante was the only organization willing to send people abroad, safely. It was the best decision I made! The weather was great, social distancing and mask mandates were in place - at the same time I felt Spain had pretty much opened completely. I was placed in a wonderful organization with a wonderful manager. The environment was excellent, I felt comfortable and at home. The people I got to work with were incredible. Everyone was so welcoming, so kind and so helpful. Truly, I am in love with Spain and I would love to return next year. I highly recommend this program. The whole Adelante team was very helpful and on top of everything! Thanks so much for one of the best experiences of my life.

I spent 3 months doing a business/marketing internship. I applied on late notice and everything was organised for me very quickly and I am hugely grateful for that! My internship was wonderful. All my colleagues were extremely accommodating of me and I have gained a valuable experience from working with them. Oaxaca de Juarez is a truly beautiful city with lots to do - after 3 months here, it feels like a second home. I cannot recommend Oaxaca enough! I had one of the best experiences of my life! I sincerely enjoyed my experience in Seville. It was nothing like I had ever experienced before and through it I learned so much about the culture, improved my language skills, and met so many amazing people. My apartment was located in the center of the city which could not have been better or more convenient and I had all the resources needed to get to and from anywhere I wanted to go. I especially appreciated how independent this program was as I had the support systems needed for when I needed assistance, but did not have any feelings of being smothered. I ended up extending my stay for an extra month because I enjoyed this experience so much and could not bring myself to leave the beautiful city and amazing people so soon.

I highly recommend my educational internship experience in Uruguay. I enjoyed living and working close to my internship and developing friendships with everyone involved in my stay in Uruguay. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is studying education and would like to up their skills in Spanish. I recommend that a candidate be intermediate in their Spanish since English is not as commonly spoken as in Europe, although many understand limited English. The housing was wonderful, very close to the beach (only two blocks). There were many amazing sunsets I witnessed and the beach was nice and relaxing to swim after a long day. My Spanish Instructor was excellent and second to none - very personable and helped me pinpoint my strengths as well as weaknesses to work on in my Spanish progress. I also had the opportunity to travel to nearby cities an hour or less away, that have a lot of character and wonderful, friendly people. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Uruguay and planned to come back for fun in a few months so that I can enjoy the rest of the country!

This experience is a must, especially for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure in South America! Uruguay is a friendly, liberal (the most equitable country in South America!), accepting, and culturally rich country with gorgeous beaches all along its coast. The people were my favorite part of Uruguay. They are eager to learn about you as much as you want to learn about them. I ran into a lot of wonderful folks who wanted nothing more than to share with me their knowledge and experience of Uruguay for me to absorb and appreciate. Uruguay has a lot to offer and has its own unique culture to experience separate from the rest of Latin America. I highly recommend Uruguay, especially for those who love the outdoors and can speak intermediate Spanish. I miss Uruguay and plan to go back and visit places I did not have time to see and also reunite with friends I made during my stay (December 5, 2020 - January 31, 2021).

My internship with Adelante Abroad was a great first internship experience. They are extremely helpful with pairing you with an internship experience that aligns with your interests as well as with your values. With my internship, I was able to learn and achieve the goals I set for myself. This was what really my experience worth while. Now, three months later, I have learned the basics of web design, branding, and design within my desired field. What an exceptional experience.

In compliance with my university, I needed to complete an unpaid internship or study abroad for academic credit. I said why not both? Adelante Abroad helped me find an internship that aligned with my values and introduced me to an entirely new place I had never been before. Oaxaca is a special place that any creative should go to at least once in their life. This is the center of where your experience can be extremely impacted because of Oaxaca's huge artisan community. Therefore, when it came to my experience and my internship they helped contribute to how much I learned and grew as a designer and a person.

I interned for 3 months in Sevilla during the pandemic, so I knew going into the process that my experience would be shaped by covid-19 but still felt it would be worthwhile and I'm so glad I went. While yes, life in Spain was different from normal and covid restrictions made a vibrant social life very challenging, I still managed to have a great time. My Spanish improved a lot during my stay, my work placement as an English teacher was very successful, I learnt a lot about living independently and feel like I matured significantly. Adelante was very helpful throughout and my program accommodation was very nice - both in terms of location as it was super central and convenient for everything I wanted to do in the city, and in terms of quality as it was spacious, modern and had good wifi/aircon. Sevilla is such a beautiful and safe city and I would love to come back and visit in the future. One thing I would say is that making Spanish friends is a MUST. That is going to be how your language improves significantly (even better if they don't speak any English so you are forced to only communicate in Spanish) and how you are going to get all the best restaurant/culture tips. My friend even invited me to her family home on the beach for a weekend. While it's tempting to hang out with fellow students and Americans, I would definitely say put yourself out of your comfort zone and aim to befriend some Spaniards. Finally, since the Adelante program is quite small, you aren't going to be handed a social life on a plate - you will need to be proactive and put yourself out there. Facebook is a good place to start!

Studying abroad is very difficult but very rewarding, my Spanish definitely improved and I got a ton of college credits. Covid cut the trip short, but it was still a memorable experience. Thank you Adelante!!

Sevilla was amazing!! Adelate was accommodating to my younger age during the study abroad (17), it was an amazing experience. If you can study abroad DO IT! Adelante makes it easy and affordable, so take the opportunity if you can! I miss Sevilla so much and can't wait to go back. They were also very helpful when covid cut the trip short!!

My Sevilla program through Adalante was amazing! I made some great memories, traveled a lot, and made some friends. Covid cut the semester short but for what it was, it was great. I was very eager to experience undertaking an internship in Seville, Spain. From the get go they were a dream to work with. They were informative and helpful, I ended up Skyping them a couple of times and they were able to find me an internship that really suited what I was looking for. Unfortunately however the coronavirus made my trip impossible. As soon as I saw the cancellations I was very stressed and felt defeated. However, the team at Adelante Abroad assured me that if I was not able to postpone I would receive my money back. I cannot thank them enough! They made an extremely stressful time easier and put the safety of interns first.

The months leading up to my high school graduation were very difficult because I felt like I couldn't really decide where I wanted to go to school. I had always thought about taking a gap year and traveling. But the question was, how I could find a company that could fit my needs. I felt as though Adelante was a very fitting program for me. I was able to do an internship at a hospital. This gave me time to learn more about the medical field, learn Spanish, and get real world experience. Being interactive with patients and being able to enjoy being at work. I was able to learn more about nursing and be apart of the practice before diving straight into college after high school. Not only is there amazing internship opportunity but all aspects of the program. They set you up with housing. I was housed with a host mom and I highly recommend this to other people who are thinking about housing options. It gives you an insight on Spanish culture, you have to constantly speak Spanish(which only makes you better), someone who is there for you and can help you when you are lost about something. They are experts of Spain and are there to help you. It gave me a sense of security. Another amazing aspect is the first 2 weeks you are there, you go into a language school which helps you get a refresher of Spanish and will help you to be more confident in the Country you are in. The school also is an amazing opportunity to meet friends from all over the place. It was easy for me to make friends and spend time and study with some of these individuals. The culture and beauty of Sevilla is spectacular and definitely something that is worth experiencing. Meeting friends for tapas/dining around, walking throughout the beautiful city and the tiny streets, warm weather pretty much all year, and the welcoming environment. If someone asked me about studying/interning abroad in Sevilla, Spain... I would absolutely recommend it. I have recently just left Sevilla and I cant wait to go back and plan on visiting many times in my life. Sorry this post is long, but if you are reading this now, I hope that this post helped you to make a decision :)

My experience was very good overall in terms of professional and personal improvement. I was very fortunate to meet and share this experience with amazing people, and to be able to enjoy and learn a lot during this program. It helped to have Adelante and the Eureka staff's support throughout the whole time. My internship also allowed me to gain practical experience and more in-depth knowledge of clinical psychology whilst working in a good professional environment.

Adelante provided me with a great experience in the pharmacy setting. I learned a great deal about the pharmacy insurance system from my boss and, with assistance from my supervisor, could help patients and ring them out. Adelante gave me excellent housing in the center of the city to make metro access very easy. However, because the housing is in the center of a big city, it can be noisy sometimes. The location of my internship was also very close to me - only a 10 minute walk! The Adelante contact in Madrid, Angel, is helpful, although sometimes easily confused because he also runs a Spanish school full time. I would recommend either calling him (in Spanish if possible) or physically going into the school to sort out issues. The Adelante staff in California were very helpful prior and during departure, sending me resources via email and making it clear to me that I could ask any questions needed. The Spanish classes required before the start of the program were a great way to ease into my time in Madrid and the teachers are nonjudgmental and very helpful.

Overall, I had a great experience with Adelante. The housing is an excellent location, the Spanish classes before the internship are taught by fluent and kind Spanish professors, and my internship itself was a 10 minute walk away from my housing with coworkers who were intent on helping me learn and help in the pharmacy. I was sent resources by the Adelante staff prior and during my departure to help me cope with the transition better, although I do wish they had sent me my placement earlier on to help me be more mentally prepared for my work. Angel, the program director in Spain, tends to be slightly scatterbrain and confused sometimes because he is running a Spanish school in addition to being the liaison between Adelante students and staff, but he is very kind and helpful, especially if you call or go into the Eureka school to see him or the other staff. I do wish Adelante had provided more opportunities to make friends earlier on, such as hosting a Eureka/Adelante dinner monthly and had been more clear on the excursions that would be offered by Eureka prior to departure. However, you can definitely make friends with people in the language school or your roommates or outside Facebook groups if you put in the effort. For the price, the value of the Adelante program - with 2 weeks of school, excellent housing location, and an internship - is very high!

I lived in Viña del Mar for four months and I wish I would have chosen to stay a full six months! I absolutely loved living in Chile and I will probably move back at some point. I was a little nervous before starting my program, because I didn't know what to expect in terms of my living situation, who I'd be living with, or what my internship would entail. When I arrived to the house, however, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the house and the amenities. My roommates changed throughout my stay due to the length and start dates of their stays, but I got along exceptionally well with all of them. The house is in a great location, only a few blocks from the beach and a beautiful muelle (pier), and about a 30 second walk to a supermarket. I always felt very safe in Viña. The spanish classes I took at the beginning did help me brush up on my vocabulary and grammar, and learn some of Chilean slang as there is a lot of it! My the professor even took me out of the classroom to explore Viña and Valparaíso. Valparaíso is just a short metro/bus ride away and it's a beautiful place to spend the day walking through the different colorful cerros (hills). It also has a very lively nightlife, however to stay safe I would recommend going with Chilean people who know the area and nightclubs! I did the medical internship and was placed in a kinesiology (physical therapy) office in the center of Viña, and it was walking distance from my house. It was difficult at first, however within a few weeks I was effectively communicating with patients, leading several patient sessions, and carrying out physiotherapy. My internship helped me so much with my spanish and confidence in communicating, and my coworkers were always eager to teach me. Overall I loved Chile and the people are very kind and welcoming. Be ready to eat the best bread of your life! Additionally, I felt this experience was very good for my resume as I've already been accepted into my top choice for graduate school.

I had a wonderful experience interning in Sevilla with Adelante! Since my university study abroad office didn't have much flexibility, I was attracted to Adelante because they were able to offer a customized experience, both with my preferred internship field and the the amount of time I wanted to spend there. Being a computer science student, I wasn't sure if I would be able to find an internship that was applicable to my career path as an international short-term intern, but the job they found for me was great! I was treated almost as a full-fledged member of the software engineering team, which was great resume-building experience and I learned a ton. Even from my first over-the-phone interview with Adelante staff I was impressed with their experience and personal attention to each student.

I personally believe the highlight of the experience was the connections I made with the other students at kingsbrook, and keeping in contact with them. It gave a relaxing viewpoint to the work life. And if provided so many social opportunities which lead to so many new experiences I definitely would not have experienced if I had planned to do everything on my own. Definitely a time of my life that I will always cherish and consider a staple in my self-sufficiency and confidence

I spent 2 months in Madrid working in a LGBT public health office. My experience living in this beautiful city was phenomenal being that I was immersed in Spanish culture. The nightlife is amazing, as you'd imagine, and I made great friends both inside and outside the program. We loved visiting other Spanish cities as well as Portugal whenever we got the chance. I really enjoyed my time at the Spanish school as everyone was extremely supportive and I learned a lot in a short period of time. All my coworkers were also lovely and helped me improve my Spanish skills throughout my time there. I do feel that it is important to mention though that you should take the Spanish language skill required by adelante seriously. Some internships do require a higher level of speaking and if you are dishonest with adelante about your ability there isn't much they can do to help if your boss becomes dissatisfied. Additionally, I will say that my expectations were not fully met on the adelante side. My original desire was to work in a hospital or clinic and although the backup plan of public health was established over the phone and I agreed to it, I got the sense that the Plan B discussed became the default for myself and the other interns I spoke to. I believe I only met 2 interns that were fully satisfied with their work placement and received their Plan A. However, in this situation I believe you get what you pay for being that adelante is securing an internship for you even if its not ideal. To me and many of the others this didn't end up being a big issue as we grew to like our placements, but if youre passionate about working in one specific area to really build your resume, adelante may not be the right fit. Conclusion: Adelante provided me with the opportunity to live and work in Madrid which was most definitely one of the best experiences of my life. I feel as if the internship placement could have been better, but being the most affordable program I found, I'm far from dissatisfied.

This study abroad experience has really broadened my horizons in multiple ways. It has allowed me to experience different riding styles and focus my academics on my equine interests while experiencing a new country. I really think that it has been a good experience, and I would recommend it to anyone - whether they have horse experience or not.

This program is a very well rounded study abroad opportunity that does a great job of balancing out schoolwork, sight seeing opportunities, and English riding lessons. The learning style is very hands on and very useful in real world applications. I would highly recommend this program for anyone with an interest in the professional equine world or has a passion for horses.

Overall my experience getting to Scotland may have had a few rough patches, but I would never change the decision I made to study here. The staff and students were extremely kind, and the program was well planned and thought out while remaining flexible. I am truly sad that this four week program has gone by so quickly. In fact, I wish I could stay here longer and experience more of the program and culture.

I had so much fun on this trip! I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is considering studying abroad. The people on the trip with me were great as well as the staff/professors. Everyone was willing to work with us to make this experience as great as possible. I will never forget this trip and all of my experiences here, that’s for sure.

I had an amazing time. The curriculum was not that rigorous, especially if you have taken any sorts of anatomy classes previously. But it gives an interesting twist as everything is about horses rather than just humans. The riding was not very advanced but it was a great way to learn new styles, training methods, and to sharpen up the basics. There are lots of chances to go out on your own and explore the country and it is a great country to start off any sorts of Study Abroad experience.

You learn so much in such a short amount of time, it's amazing to see how far everyone advances in their riding skills. It really helps that the groups are kept small so the learning atmosphere is still personal between you, the rider, and the trainer, as well as being a comfortable group environment. It seems a bit unnerving at first to have to ride in front of other people, but everyone else is in the same boat as you so there isn't any room for judgement or skepticism. The teachers, in the classroom and in the arena, are always there to answer questions and provide any advice they can give you (sometimes whether you like it or not :) ). Even though our entire group came from completely opposite sides of the country, we were still able to relate and bond over this one thing we shared in common. This was such a great experience for not only learning more about Equine Sciences but it was also an unbeatable opportunity to make connections with people within your age group and field of study.

I had a really great time studying abroad with this program. The classes were taught by passionate instructors and all the faculty members I interacted with were extremely welcoming. Riding was what I looked forward to everyday but getting out and experiencing the city as much as possible is a must.

My study abroad experience was one of the most engaging academic experiences thus far. The classes were intuitive and practical and the work load was never overwhelming. The organized trips were a great way to immerse ourselves in the Scottish culture and also engaged our equine knowledge. Our riding lessons were very good and the instructors were knowledgeable and supportive. The campus staff and facilities were very accommodating which helped ease the transition for many of us. The trip to the racing yard and the Perth race tracks were truly a once in a lifetime experience and were just one of the many highlights of the trip. The horses were very good as well and all the practical hands on work was very helpful.

This program was a great experience overall. The staff was very welcoming and super helpful throughout the program. The teachers and riding instructors were very well educated and willing to work with the students. I really felt like they cared about our success and wanted us to have a good time here as well. The horses were well cared for which was great to see and the riding lessons were tailored to our various skill levels. The location of the school was very close to Edinburgh and Glasgow was not very far either. It was easy to travel around and we even made it down to London on our free weekend. There were also excursions that were built into the program that were very interesting. We got to visit a large racing yard as well as other really cool places. Overall this experience was great and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to travel and learn more about horses.

I loved this trip. I had not been around horses since I was in middle school so I was worried about if I would be out of place during this program. This was not the case. Everyone is very nice and wants you to do your best in everything. The instructors are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable in what you are doing. The horses were great and the classes were not too hard at all. Scotland is a beautiful country. Getting around on buses, trains, and taxis was very easy and getting to cities around Scotland, and even getting to London, was very accessible.

I had an amazing time while I was here. The people here are so welcoming and happy that we are here. The program with the ridding keeps you busy during the day, but a good busy. Riding in this beautiful country is awesome and the instructors really help you exceed at your ridding abilities. The travel while I was here was amazing as well. Edinburgh is a beautiful city with so much to offer. All the little shops are great to go around and look at. The castle is also really interesting with so much history. The days that they planned to take us places were really amazing too. One of my favorite days was the race track. I enjoyed to be able to go and walk the track and watch the horses race. I really enjoyed and loved my experience and wish I could do it again.

Upon arriving to Scotland, I was not sure what to expect. It was cold, wet, and overall dreary. I remember getting on the bus and heading to the SRUC Oatridge Campus, where we had no idea what to expect and we were quite silent. However, the bright and shining Louise was and still is the kindest and most polite person I ever met and she helped me feel right at home. As the weeks progressed, I came to realize that the students are incredibly willing to help you with anything you need, whether its academically related or not. It all seemed like such a large family. Another week in and I could not feel any more at home. Many students offered to take us to the local restaurants and pubs and immerse ourselves in their culture. Being a shy student from the US, I was humbled by this experience. Never have I seen such acts of kindness and friendship before. Moving along to the academic side of the program, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about their subject material. They understand how to communicate the essential information to the students effectively and efficiently. It was truly and enlightening experience and I am glad to bring home exciting new information. I have been blessed with this experience and opportunity, and I hope to return as soon as possible. The beauty of both the rolling fields and hills did not even compare with the inside beauty of the people

All the instructors and program directors are so helpful. Louise is absolutely amazing. Riding almost every day certainly improved my riding abilities and the classes were very hands on which was great. This program is a wonderful way to get a very practical knowledge of horses. All the other students have been so friendly including the Scottish students. All the Scots are very friendly. You couldn't ask for a friendlier country to visit. The sights are amazing and despite the coursework there is plenty of time to explore and go sightseeing. Haggis is pretty much just a gamey sausage and you can get it absolutely everywhere including haggis burgers and breakfast haggis. Louise is adorable. You should do this program. 12/10 would recommend.

If you love horses and travel then this is a program that you will definitely enjoy. Not only do you get to ride horses 4 times a week but you get to explore Scotland during your free time or even go over to London on your free weekend which a lot of us did this year.

I had a wonderful experience aboard in Chile. My Spanish most definitely improved, or I should say my Chilean Spanish since they use so much slang. I loved our teacher so much, in fact I am still in contact with her. My internship placement also was great, I was an assistant to a professor who had other architecture projects as well. Very nice, welcoming, patient, and open minded. I did start out in a host family but I was not a great fit for me. Adalante though was wonderful in responding quickly and positively in helping find a new housing situation which I was so impressed by. I do recommend if you do the Viña Del Mar program to go during the summer there (winter in the states). I went when it was there fall going into winter, so it got a little boring in Viña itself since it was cold and the low season. This just means we went to Santiago and Mendoza more. During the summer though there would be a lot more to do and you can actually go in the ocean. Overall an awesome experience, I met some wonderful people, learned a little bit about a new culture, improved my Spanish, and my architecture. I also suggest if you can, schedule your flights so you have time to explore Chile itself before or after your internship. It’s such a unique county with its ranging landscapes, and places like Patagonia deserve more than just a weekend trip!

I worked the medical internship in Ecuador through Adelante Abroad. I think because the program is new, many of the relations are clearly not established. Most people in the hospital had no idea what I was doing there and I saw the director of the hospital (who was supposedly in charge) once where he told me that he anticipated me to be a medical student though I had sent in my resume/CV already. The living situation in Quito was tough because the lady who I lived with did not have much patience for Spanish learners. Though I arrived with advanced knowledge of Spanish, I still found trouble as she would often fill in my sentences for me and get mad at me for what she thinks I would say (which usually is not true). My living situation in Ambato was the highlight of my experience and I will forever be indebted to the family there. Apart from my homestay experience in Ambato, everything about the program could probably have been better.

Adelante is a great option for those looking for an internship abroad. They provide a language course during the first two weeks, housing, and internship placement in your field. Adelante doesn't baby their interns. Participants will leave their placement more knowledge in their field, and equipped to face the future.

I did an internship in Madrid from June 2018 - August 2018 at a local Non-Profit Organization called ACULCO. I am very pleased with the placement given to me by Adelante. My co-workers were amazing and kind. Madrid, as a city itself, is incredibly rich in culture. The museums there are top-notch and the nightlife is insane! One thing that I had a hard time with in Madrid was how insanely hot it can be in the summer, for one week it did not go below 85 degrees! The housing given by Adelante did not have A/C (many buildings in Europe just don't come equipped with A/C so it is not really Adelante's fault.) I also was not placed near Sol - where most Adelante students are placed - but instead was housed in Tetuan, a working-class neighborhood in northern Madrid. This actually was a very good thing since I was exposed to a much less touristic side of the city. In other words, it felt like the 'true' Madrid. I also lived with other students from all over Europe! Italy, Spain, and Germany. It was an amazing chance to be able to live in a flat with students from around Europe. It also pushed me to speak Spanish all the time since I was the only American in the flat. Thankfully, the last month when my other flatmates left, an American student moved in and we became good friends. I really thank Adelante for giving me this opportunity to be able to live in Spain for three months. It truly opened my eyes to see how different life can be outside of the United States. As a Mexican - American, it also opened my eyes to how diverse and beautiful the Spanish language is. I highly recommend Adelante! What I do hope for Adelante to do is to coordinate more social gatherings for Adelante candidates to meet each other. Since I was not in actual Adelante housing, it was sometimes hard to meet other Adelante interns and Americans. It probably was a good thing that I was not exposed to as much English but it would've been nice to have met other students in the program.

Being in Madrid was an amazing experience. I met so many people and was able to travel around Europe. Fortunately, I gained real world experience in the field of psychology which helped me gain great knowledge.

I completed a 2 month internship with Adelante Abroad in Ecuador. My first 2 weeks were spent in Quito completing daily, one-on-one Spanish courses. My teacher was extremely welcoming, encouraging and knowledgeable. We focused on increasing my Spanish vocabulary, grammar and common interactions I may encounter in a foreign country such as shopping, taking public transportation etc. The combination of daily classes and living with a host family helped me improve my language skills A LOT before starting my internship. After my two weeks in Quito I moved to Ambato to work in a hospital. I rotated through the General Medicine floor, Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. I had the opportunity to observe many surgeries, births and Caesarean sections (C-section). I assisted with minor procedures and saw many disease states I may not encounter in the United States. Overall, the internship was an invaluable experience. Additionally, every weekend I was able to travel to a new area in Ecuador. Over 8 weeks I was able to see many beautiful regions of the country including the Amazon Rainforest, the Pacific Ocean and Andean mountain ranges. I summited mountains, swam in the ocean, camped in a refugio, ate amazing Ecuadorian food and made life-long friends. I would highly encourage traveling to Ecuador and Adelante Abroad!

I did an internship through Adelante Abroad in Madrid and had an AMAZING experience! My internship was in international marketing and loved every second of it. I took skills and things that I don´t think I would have been able to gain working in the United States. I learned how to work in a new work setting in a different country, my co-workers have become great friends of mine AND all the traveling I got to experience. After I graduated I tried to find a job and chose to do an internship with Adelante because 1. I get to travel 2. I´m only builind great work experience to my resume 3. I have the rest of my life to work so why not!

My 2 months in Ecuador was an incredible experience! I lived in Quito with an Ecuadorian family and completed 2 weeks of Spanish Language classes before beginning a 6 week placement at a veterinary clinic. Not only did I gain incredible skills and knowledge from my work placement that I can apply towards veterinary school in Canada, I was also able to travel around Ecuador and get to know its culture and people. My main goal out of this experience was to learn to speak another language. I came to Ecuador with some basic Spanish, but being immersed in it every day ,both at home with my host family and at work, allowed me to accomplish this goal. I met so many amazing people during my time in Ecuador and I am so thankful for this amazing experience!

I lived in Viña del Mar and worked in Valparaíso for 3 months. I thoroughly enjoyed where I worked - I had great coworkers, learned quite a bit about Chilean business law, was able to see how a business incubator works, and put my Spanish to use daily. It was really a fantastic work opportunity, and I am happy to have done it. The only negatives regarding this program that come to mind are the housing. I was placed in a 3 person house in a quiet neighbourhood and that was great. While the house was incredibly cold (no central heat), the real problem was the bathroom. It did not ventilate well, so after taking a shower the room would be full of condensation. I mean the ceiling would be covered in water, which would proceed to drip on the ground for hours, leaving the floor wet and dirty. This also caused the ceiling in the bathroom to sag significantly, and it was covered in what looked to be mold. I think the housing used could be better scouted, and if these are residences the program uses frequently (as opposed to finding new ones each time applicants arrive), they should be better maintained. Furthermore, I was not given a key to lock my bedroom door, and as there were no safes in any of the rooms, this would have been appreciated. I found the three weeks of Spanish class at the beginning of the program to be only slightly helpful. We spent most of the classes walking around, which was a fantastic way to learn the area and practice conversational Spanish with my teacher. The problem was this dynamic made it very easy to stay within my comfort zone of the language. I think classroom activities are helpful because they are focused and often force conversation on topics otherwise avoided (politics, history, the environment, uncommon situations) as they are difficult or are beyond the scope of what is immediately comfortable. As such, it was easy to stick to things like food or scenery, but difficult to branch into more challenging areas. Overall I had a very enjoyable time in Chile. I enjoyed my work and feel much more confident in my Spanish abilities.

Scotland is breathtaking!! I had a great time living and working in Scotland. I enjoyed learning about their culture and was able to experience international life! It was rewarding to work in the company and actually contribute to their projects. I lived with 3 others in a flat and was able to get to know each of them while still having my own space.

I studied digital marketing in Madrid for three months this summer, and it was such an amazing experience! I would highly recommend this program. I met so many great people, and I was able to travel in the weekends with many of them. My boss was so kind and accommodating, and the program coordinators were very helpful as well. I was very hesitant in doing this program at first, but I have 0 regrets. Such a wonderful opportunity to study, travel, and make friends!

I was in Madrid from mid-May until the end of July doing the Event Planning Internship. I didn't know quite what to expect from Madrid and the program but I had an AMAZING time, better than expected. To begin with, I couldn't imagine meeting such awesome people and I was fortunate enough to meet friends I would consider life-long friends. The program is small enough that you have the great opportunity to meet and become close with people you would not have ever expected to meet from all of the world! Adelante places you in the heart of Madrid which was also a wonderful experience to be surrounded by such liveliness, there was so many things to do at all hours of the day/night. The internship was a cool experience! it was interesting to see how work is done in Spain and expand my skills abroad. It helped me figure out what I want to do as a career back in the states. The program was a great amount of freedom but also they check up on you and Angel, the intern advisory for Adelante was so kind and helpful! I highly recommend this program! Best of the best!

Interning abroad was the experience of a lifetime! Adelante made it so easy to travel and intern abroad! The housing was amazing, the culture was amazing, and the chance to socialize and practice Spanish was also amazing. The internship was just regular, like any other internship, but will be a great add to my resume! I left with many friends and a beautiful summer memory! The opportunity I had to live abroad and expand my horizons was definitely life changing. I recommend this program to everyone!

I chose this program due to its affordability and because I only had to be at an intermediate level of Spanish before starting my internship. I got so much more out of this program than I expected! The first two weeks, I took Spanish lessons in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. My teachers were friendly and inviting, and my host was always eager to show me around the city and provide me with recommendations for things to do. As a vegetarian, I was extremely happy with how accommodating my hosts and program directors were. I made two new friends one week into the program, and we had a wonderful time exploring the city. Our teachers took us on excursions once a week to see more of Quito and to practice our Spanish. My internship focus (medicine) took me to Ambato during the third week of the program. Working and living with people who speak Spanish and are eager to help their volunteers learn added exponentially to my ability to speak the language. The people who live here are extremely friendly. My work assignment was very flexible, and allowed me to travel on the weekends and take the occasional day off to extend my weekend excursions. I would highly recommend this program to others. For my first time traveling to another continent, I was very comfortable here. The staff of Adelante Abroad was always there to support me and answer my questions.

All in all, I absolutely loved my 3-month internship program in Seville, Spain! It was an amazing experience that I will always remember, and I'm grateful to Adelante for making it possible. To help you learn about this program, here is my pros and cons list (Specifically related to Adelante, as listing the pros of a summer in Europe would take pages!): Pros: - Housing, schooling, & internship completely arranged - Great pre-departure materials & in-country contacts - Regular checking-in by Adelante staff (except during the month right before departure, since I applied early. It would have been nice to receive an "you're about ready to leave, do you have any final questions/here are a few tips for you," but overall I felt like I was always in contact with Adelante - Friendly internship environment: My coworkers were funny and wonderful and very flexible with all my weekend travels! - Airport pick-up: It was so nice to have someone pick me up around midnight and take me to my apartment! - Independence: This is a very, very independent program (especially not doing a homestay), which was perfect for me, but it can be challenging! - Excellent language classes (but only for 2 weeks :() Cons: - Housing (Apartment): roommates. This is a gamble in any situation and can't be fully blamed on Adelante, but I had one very messy roommate who didn't follow house rules or necessarily respect privacy. Additionally, halfway through my program, my landlord (without contacting me first) rented a room to a man. He was very nice, but I wasn't aware that housing could be co-ed, and that is important to me. Also, my housing wasn't necessarily "convenient" - about 30 minutes from the city center by bus, but my neighborhood was very nice and I sometimes appreciated being out of the center. - Internship: I love my company, Pod Group, and my coworkers, but I requested an "International Business" internship and actually received a marketing internship. I'm not pursuing a career in marketing, but the skills I learned at my internship are somewhat related to my interests of management, HR, and international studies, so it was still worthwhile. But know that you may not find your "perfect" internship! Also, my internship was entirely in English, which is both a pro and con, since it was very easy to understand my work, but I didn't get the full Spanish immersion I was hoping for. - Language Classes: My only complaint is that they were only for 2 weeks, because I loved them and I would have appreciated more! - Prepared Excursions: Although I made a lot of friends in Spain, it would have been nice to have a bi-weekly or monthly excursion with other interns! Seville doesn't get as many interns as Barcelona and Madrid, and it was hard to meet some of the interns (though the ones I did meet were wonderful!) I like having my independence, but it would have been nice to have more events - one free flamenco show was provided, and it was very fun! Overall, this experience was truly once in a lifetime and I would definitely recommend it to someone else! My biggest advise is to just be flexible and outgoing (I'm introverted, but I learned to be more extroverted here). Traveling to and living alone in a foreign country is no easy task, but I've grown professionally and personally and I can't wait to return to Seville in the future! I am very grateful to Adelante for making my dream summer come true.

Adelante truly is a wonderful program from beginning to end! They were very prompt in responding to my initial interest and setting up a first phone call, followed by comprehensive guidance before my arrival in Spain. I told Adelante my field of interest and they found a perfect internship for me in Sevilla. The two weeks of Spanish class prior to the internship were also excellent; the school had wonderful professors and organized free, fun cultural excursions we could participate in after class. The Adelante staff was incredibly supportive and checked in with me regularly. The on-site people provided airport pickup, accompanied me to the first day of my internship, and organized a flamenco show excursion for all Adelante interns. They care a lot about each individual intern and were very helpful in resolving any questions or concerns. The program is perfect for people who enjoy independence with accessible support when needed. I felt very comfortable in Sevilla and enjoyed the opportunity to shape the experience around my interests.

I did a two month journalism internship through Adelante with an English language magazine in Madrid called Guidepost Magazine. Overall, my experience with Adelante and my internship was excellent. The housing provided was great and the logistics such as airport pickup went smoothly. An internship with Adelante is great for someone who does not need someone checking in on them constantly. While I always knew the Adelante staff were available to help me with any problems, I had very minimal contact with them and felt very independent during my stay. Also, the two weeks of language classes that were included were incredibly helpful. As someone who went into the internship with a high level of Spanish, I was skeptical at first about the required two weeks of classes. However, the staff at the language school are great and they have classes for all levels. All classes are 100% in Spanish, and there are other international students there who are learning Spanish as well so it's a great environment to feel comfortable practicing your language skills. As far as my actual internship is concerned, I did not completely get what I wanted out of it, but it was still a great experience. My goal for this program was to be put in an internship where I would be in a Spanish-speaking environment every day, but it was more of a freelance journalism type of job. I had to go around the city and attend events, but didn't necessarily have the constant language emersion that I wanted. Nonetheless, it was not that big of a deal for me because I already went into the internship knowing how to speak Spanish, and I was able to have several articles published in English that will look great on a resume. However, I would not recommend my specific internship for someone who really needed to learn Spanish. I do not blame Adelante for any of this though, as I think they did in a way give me what I asked for. All in all, I think Adelante is a great and affordable program for independent students looking for valuable work experiences!

An excellent program for the independent and self-sufficient individual who isn't afraid to figure things out as you go and to problem solve on your own. If you are used to more guidance, consider a different program.

This was a wonderful program. For someone, such as myself, who is extremely fond of horses there could not have been a better study abroad opportunity. This program allowed me to explore Scotland with the rest of the group while still giving us opportunities to venture out at our own leisure. The classes helped me to brush up on the finer points of equine anatomy and I learned how to create an equine fitness program (something I had never done before). The landscape here is beautiful and the culture is fascinating. So if you are looking for a great study abroad opportunity I would highly recommend this one.

This program was extremely well organized and all the staff at the college are super nice and helpful. There is not much around the college, there is a village you can walk to or you can take trains or taxis to nearby towns/cities. The food takes some getting used to, lots of potatoes, but RA not bad. Overall this program was super fun and I would highly recommend.

I loved this program! All of the horses we were working with had phenomenal personalities, and clearly loved to work. The classes were fantastic, and gave us a unique perspective on the equine industry in Europe. I met some fantastic people in the local communities. I highly recommend this program, as they provide plenty of weekend trips that are prearranged. Overall it was a fantastic program, and I highly recommend it to any equine student.

I love it here is Scotland! Everyone is nice and welcoming and I learned so much about being Scotland! The rising was also a lot of fun! We got the opportunity to ride a lot of different horses and I loved all of them!!

This is a great program. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They want to make the experience as great as possible. The class is informational but not so rigorous that it is impossible to experience Scotland. There are some good trips out and plenty of time to see surrounding cities and sites. Added bonus of getting to ride the entire month in another country as well.

I really enjoyed my time abroad in Scotland! I loved being able to ride almost everyday and ride a variety of horses. The barn staff is wonderful and I always enjoyed riding and being with their horses. I also really liked the classes and the professors! The classes had a nice balance because I learned a lot, but still had time to go out and explore Scotland instead of drowning in homework. It was a great balance of classroom, riding, and traveling!

This program was extremely well organized and fun. We rode up to 4 times a week and there was at least one trip planned a week. We also had one weekend day free every weekend, and one totally free weekend. During those times we went out to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Linlithgow, etc. to explore.

I have had an amazing time studying abroad at Oatridge College in Scotland. The staff of the college were so nice and welcoming! While I was here a the college I was able to ride the SNEC horses, study Equine Anatomy and Fitness, and go on plenty of adventures around Scotland.

Overall, I quite enjoyed my experience in Scotland. Louise was a fantastic instructor and was always around to help us get around or answer any questions. Our excursions were fun and definitely necessary because the down time at the dorm could get overbearing. The program really wanted us to be able to experience Scotland and I can definitely say that I did. The riding at SNEC was really fun and Sam made it a very comfortable experience for everyone.

I wish I had the words to describe how impactful this internship was. I was living and working in Madrid Spain for 6 months for an International Business internship. Something I am so happy I was able to do while I was abroad was to completely invest 110% myself into the country I was living in. One piece of advice I would have is do not be afraid to learn the language, experience the culture and get to know the locals. I met so many incredible people from Madrid and life-long friends I know I will have from here on out. I also met so many awesome people but struggled living abroad because they let the fear of not knowing the language or living somewhere new scare them. Stop. Do not be one of those people. Take chances. Do things that are out of your comfort zones. And be present in the moment. You will be so happy you did once the internship is over. One of my favorite memories was traveling alone throughout Europe when given the opportunity. I did make a lot of awesome friends, however, I had plans of traveling alone and I am so happy I did. You learn so much about yourself when you travel alone. You get quality alone time with yourself and can focus on you and your needs. You meet so many great people along the way and can see the world around you without distractions. If I had any advice for future participants, take a trip alone to experience the world around you. Now that I am done with my internship, I am looking doing my Master's degree in Madrid in International Business and I am so excited to continue this experience and hopefully move back to my favorite city in the word.

What one pays for, essentially, with Adelante, that one couldn't find by themselves, is great contacts. It's difficult to find internships in other countries for a variety of reasons and Adelante does all the hard work for you. Adelante also helps to provide an essential structure to this internship, defining the number of work hours, the assigned tasks and expectations.

I had a great time during my 5-month internship in Madrid. The Adelante team placed me at a top firm in Madrid that was a perfect fit for what I had asked. I grew a lot as a professional, met some really amazing people and saw some incredible places in Spain and Europe. My international experience helped my resumé stand out to prospective employers and I landed my first post-graduation job as soon as I got back home. Thanks to the Adelante team for their amazing service and I would definitely recommend this program to anyone!

Interning in Madrid was one of the most exciting and enriching experiences of my life. I learnt so much during my internship and met incredible people along the way. It helped me figure out that this is exactly what I want to do as a career. The Adelante staff could not have been more supportive, we had our every need met. The language school here was also amazing and most definitely helped me improve my Spanish in the two weeks. The other interns I was living with were all wonderful people and I have definitely made friends for life. I could not recommend this more!

I had a wonderful time working in Madrid at a spare parts distributor for high tech manufacturing equipment. The people I worked with gave me real tasks to do and I was treated as an employee and friend, not as a visitor who would leave soon. I made great friendships with my coworkers as well as the people I lived with. The travel opportunities are almost endless and you'll meet some awesome people staying in hostels. Adelante was incredibly accommodating as I had applied somewhat last minute. The staff work closely with you to find an internship that is highly relevant to your area of study. I was recently hired as an intern at a large US based company and I drew heavily on this experience throughout the interview process. If you're on the fence, just go and I promise you won't regret it.

I had an excellent time in Madrid. I interned at a small company specializing in selling spare parts for high tech manufacturing equipment. In the internship I was given tasks such as rewriting the website, finding and calling new clients and packaging orders for clients. I recently was hired as an intern at a large US based athletic equipment company and I drew heavily on my internship experience in Madrid throughout the interview process. The people I lived with were really fun and we traveled throughout Spain and to other countries together. The company was very flexible regarding hours and having days off when I was traveling. I can't recommend this program highly enough. It not only helped me grow as an individual and employee, but it did it at about half the cost of other study abroad programs I looked at.

Arriving in Spain with a new culture and new relationships, I wasn't sure what to expect. Although the beauty of the city absolutely blew me away, what truly made my time so memorable was the friendships I made during my time there. The program's support team is an incredible group of individuals, and I was so blessed and thankful to have them on the ground during my stay in Seville.

Fue una experiencia linda! La gente es muy acogedora y conocí muchos lugares. Me hubiera gustado poder contactar a la persona con la que iba a vivir antes para poder planificar mejor los viajes. Todo fue 10/10, el equipo del international center está atento de ayudarnos siempre. Hay muchos viajes cortos que se pueden hacer por el fin de semana. Uno de los lugares que más nos gustó fue el embalse Puclaro donde pueden hacer kitesurf. Dentro de Viña, no dejen de conocer Reñaca, Concon (playa la boca y las dunas), el jardín botánico es PRECIOSO, conocer los palacios, tomar un helado en Mo o Coletti y salir a correr por la avenida Perú. Además, en cuanto al trabajo, aprendí mil cosas nuevas, formas de trabajar en Chile distintas a mi país. Me voy de Chile con los mejores recuerdos!

Stayed in Madrid for a social work internship and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The program sets you up with a great fit for your career choice, and they were very helpful with answering any questions before & after the program! Everyone should do this experience, especially since it's one of the cheapest & best programs to go abroad! This program was perfect for me, and it was a great way to get to know a new city. It made the transition to living in another place as easy as it really could be — finding me housing, an internship, and contacts within the city that could answer any questions or help show me around. The internship was a fantastic fit, which really showed how much Adelante listened to what I wanted from the experience, as well as they attention they payed to what skills I already had. I learned a lot, met many new people, and got to know the amazing city. I even decided to move back to Oaxaca for the rest of the year to work at the art studio where I was previously interning!

I did this internship abroad during the Fall of 2017 in Madrid and I must say it was truly the trip of a lifetime. It helped me grow both on personal and professional levels and can't express how thankful I truly am to have done gone through it. I am a Business Admin major from Long Beach State University and decided to go intern at IFEMA, which is Madrid's convention center. The people at IFEMA were very nice and helpful throughout the experience and I learned a lot about both the business development department (which I was at) and about the cultural customs through this internship. Adelante Abroad we're also very helpful in making sure I was integrating to my housing and internship as well. They also made sure I knew what to expect coming into the program. Overall, I would have to rate the experience a 10/10 for Adelante for making this trip so nice! Last thing is traveling around Europe while there was also very good! The people at Ifema were cool about working only 4 days a week (Im sure they would've also let me take 3 days but I wanted more work experience) and this let me travel a lot which made the trip extra special.
