What inspired you to go abroad?

I needed to experience something new in my life. I wanted to have a unique summer that helped me grow as a student and a person. I knew I needed to go abroad before graduating college so this was my last opportunity.

My best friend and I got to experience Europe together and we had the best time of our lives with Forum-Nexus.

Why did you choose Forum-Nexus?

I chose it because it had an internship dedicated to marketing. I need to get more work experience and this was the perfect opportunity. I also chose Forum-Nexus because of the multi-country aspect of the program. It always has been hard for me to choose one place to study abroad and this program gave me the opportunity to experience nine different cities.

What was your favorite part about traveling to several locations?

My favorite part was that we kept moving around. We never got bored or homesick because we always were experiencing a new place every couple of days.

What made your experience abroad unique?

We got to travel to nine cities! Not many kids get to do that within one month. It was amazing and definitely an unforgettable experience.

How did local staff support you throughout your program?

The staff was amazing! Always there for us whether it had to do with school or with any personal issues. They really made us all feel like one big family.

What's one thing you wish you would have done differently?

Honestly, there isn't much I would change about this trip. If anything, I would travel more on the weekends to other places.

Describe a typical day in the life of your program.

Some days we would go to breakfast at our hotel, go to class in the morning, attend a recommended group activity, and then have free time the rest of the day to study or do whatever we wanted. Other days we would travel from city to city on a bus or train. This gave us time to rest or catch up on school work that needed to be done. On the weekends we were able to do whatever we wanted.

What did you enjoy doing in your free time?

I loved biking and running around each city. This was the time I got some exercise in while also getting a better feel of each city. I also loved to shop!

What was your accommodation like? What did you like best about it?

The hotels were beautiful. They always attended to our needs and were very comfortable. My best friend and I always got to be roommates and we loved our living situation throughout the month.

What is one thing every participant should know before participating in your program?

The traveling days are a little tiring but these are the days that you form the closest bonds. I wouldn't change anything about this trip. Everyone got to see you at your worst times which made your relationships form that much faster.

Now that you're home, how has your program abroad impacted your life?

I am more open to new things. I feel more relaxed knowing that there is so much more out there in the world. I was able to learn so much about the world and so much more about myself while traveling abroad.

Would you recommend Forum-Nexus to others? Why?

Yes!!!! There are not many programs out there that give you the education/work experience you may need while also getting to travel to nine cities in Europe. They made it so easy and so fun the whole time.
