What inspired you to work for Hopscotch Travel?
I believe that working with Hopscotch allows me to combine my professional expertise with my passion for selling and working with people every day. I enjoy working closely with a team and know you can rely on each other. We are a small but dynamic team as we know how important each person's role is within the company
Describe a typical day at work.
I have the opportunity to speak/meet new people every day and get to know a little bit about each of them. I also have the opportunity to analyze each candidate to see how I can adapt my approach to sell the dream. I have created a schedule to time my tasks each day to ensure I spend a sufficient amount of time on each task and manage my time to the best of my abilities.

Why do you do what you do?
I enjoy working with young people and being able to speak to new people each day. You get to know a little bit about all of them and sell them something that will give them an amazing adventure (traveling to a new country) and help them grow in their personal lives while working abroad.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I enjoy working with a team. We are a small but dynamic team of women and knowing the importance of each person's role and how valuable you are to your team members is my favorite part as you are bringing value to your team.
How do you use your education and international background in your current role?
In the sales field, there are so many techniques to use and you have to continually be able to adapt as you speak to different people. Being able to master this skill is an art. I continuously educate myself on how I can improve this skill and coming from a sales background has helped me develop this skill.
What challenges do you often face and how do you overcome them?
Some of the challenges I face are in the amount of work I have to manage on my own and it can get extremely overwhelming from time to time therefore I do tend to put in extra hours to try and catch up on the workload. I have also created a timetable to make sure I use my time in the most effective way to complete my tasks.
This is me just sitting and relaxing while appreciating the small things in life.
What advice would you give your pre-travel self?
I would tell myself to be organized and do as much research on the places I can visit. The more you are prepared, the more you will be able to fit into your trip. Being organized will lead to more adventures to have on your travels.

What makes your organization easy to market to potential participants?
Hopscotch was made by young people, for young people. Hopscotch was born when the founder decided to travel to Italy as an au pair and realized there was a gap in the market to make it easier for future travelers. We understand the needs of each traveler personally and know the opportunities they lay ahead when going on this adventure!
What is your organization's mission and how do you continue to work toward it?
Hopscotch operates a platform proposing job opportunities in the most popular destinations for young South African people.
For the love of animals! I love horses and other animals and hanging out with my friends!
What do you hope participants take away from your programs?
I hope that participants can learn life skills when traveling abroad on their own. This will teach candidates life skills such as independence and getting out of their comfort zone. It will also help them meet new people and be able to adapt to a new environment.
If you could participate in one of your organization's programs, where would you go and what would you do?
If I could participate in one of my company's programs I would enjoy traveling to travel and AuPair in Italy for three months. It has always been a dream of mine to travel to different European countries and to visit places such as Rome, Venice, and Florence.
Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?
It is important to travel and experience what is out there. Our world has so many beautiful things to experience and you can not stay in your comfort zone. Learning about other cultures will also change your prescription in life when meeting people. It opens up you to a world of opportunities.
What does meaningful travel mean to you?
Meaningful travel means that you go to places you always wanted to explore and make the most out of it by creating new memories and meeting new people. Meaningful travel is going on new adventures and learning about different cultures and food.
