Childcare volunteers in the Philippines work in local daycare centers, assisting local staff across a wide variety of tasks. These tasks include teaching the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors, arranging games and activities, arts and crafts, assisting at meal times and playing with the children. While the children may be shy to begin with, once they get to know you, they are very enthusiastic and eager to learn. Simply being in the presence of and engaging with English-speaking volunteers is incredibly valuable in developing the English skills of the children, which will assist them in further education.
