  • Description

    Volunteer on a medical and community assistance project in the heart of Africa and gain basic medical experience in local clinics through interaction with local nurses and staff. Volunteers are needed to provide support to local staff by helping with baby weighing, taking BP and vitals. This project also has an element of HIV/AIDS awareness as well as nutritional education so perfect for those volunteers who are interested in participating in national immunisation campaigns, general outreaches and education drives.

  • Highlights

    During your stay at Antelope Park you will have the opportunity to enjoy free weekends to experience all that Zimbabwe has to offer. There are lots of extra trips which you can book up while you are in Zimbabwe so you do need to remember to bring enough cash with you to pay for these trips. Remember that Gweru is quite remote and you will not have the chance to access an ATM once you have arrived at your project location so do bring enough money with you for your entire stay. To get an idea of the excursions available to you here are a few of them with prices (all in USD):

    * 5 day trip to Victoria Falls, via Hwange National Park and Miombo Lodge - USD 475.00 (departs on 19th of each month)
    * Boma restaurant (almost all volunteers choose to do this and love it!) USD 45.00-
    * Sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi USD 45.00
    * Half day White water rafting - USD 110
    * Half day Gorge swing - USD 105
    * Bungee Jump USD 105 per jump
    * Helicopter Ride for 15 minutes - USD 115
    * Micro Flight for 15 minutes - USD 85
    * Entry to Victoria Falls National Park - USD 20
    * Lunar horse game viewing available 6 days over full moon period - USD 30
    * Boat cruise - USD 20
    * Night encounter - USD 100
