Great Trip but Make Sure It’s Right for You

I came to Barcelona on one of the earliest trips here and everything has turned out amazing for me. Going there with the program was incredibly helpful. Xplore Asia did their part and worked hard to guide me hand by hand every part of the way. We had a very fun first week of vacation, an awesome TESOL program and Spanish classes were so fun. The issue is that finding a job in Spain is difficult and scammy. The English Academies are often investigated so employers are very nervous to hire you. You don’t have permission to work at first because Spanish classes aren’t automatically recognized as an institute. When you get a job, they can submit paper work but they will cap how much you can work and the pay. I got three job offers in week before I found a place I felt secure. Xplore set up every interview for me and really helped. However, if you don’t interview well or if you aren’t a Native English speaker, finding a job will be tough, if not impossible. This wasn’t properly emphasized to peers on my trip and watching them search for a well paid teaching job was tragic. Barcelona is a beautiful metropolitan city. It has its problems with over tourism and housing. The program was so fun and Spain has my heart. Just be careful that, even though the program helps with every step, it’s a complicated, risky, and an expensive process. I was the first trip and maybe things have changed. I found great living conditions, great work/life balance, and met so so many people. In fact, I still live in Spain! Please carefully evaluate if you have the means to do this trip or if you need more security. For me, it was worth it.

Moving Abroad, without the stress

I could not imagine moving to a foreign country without going through Xplore Asia. It’s so reassuring to move across the world knowing you will always have a support network waiting for you. They help you with literally everything, finding accommodation, to finding a job, help with bureaucratic paperwork, literally everything that entails moving abroad and starting your life from scratch. Beyond grateful I came across this company in my research stage, again, I can’t imagine this process any other way than Xplore Asia by my side. If I could do this all over again, I would still pick them, and you should too!

So much support during a difficult process!

The visa application process can be extremely difficult and stressful. The Xplore team truly holds your hand through all of it. They are so nice and will review each document before your appointment to ensure you have everything you need. The team is there for you every step of the way and even when you are in ground in Barcelona. I appreciate that they are always quick with their response time and happy to help whatever it may be. Highly recommend this program for starting your big adventure!

Great program!!

I’ve been wanting to join this program for years, and I’m so glad I finally made it happen. Xplore Asia and especially Jordayne made the entire process of moving to Spain so much easier than I ever expected. I first tried to figure everything out on my own, but it was incredibly complicated. From the moment I reached out, this company guided me step-by-step, communicated clearly, and ensured I got to Spain on time with zero stress. What truly sets them apart is the support that continues even after arrival. They keep checking in, helping me with all the little things that come up when adjusting to a new country. Their kindness, patience, and genuine care have made such a difference. I’m now heading into my second year here in Spain, and I honestly don’t know how I would have done it without them. I would recommend Xplore Asia to anyone considering this journey. They truly made my experience amazing!

Difficult but an invaluable experience

Moving to Barcelona was an incredibly difficult, but rewarding experience. My mindset is different from before, and I know so much about different cultures. I gained so many unique experiences and got to travel the world. Learning a new language was so much fun. However, despite these positives, it wasn’t a walk in the park. The team was very helpful for initial housing and job placement, but after I secured a room and a job, things went downhill. Due to the housing crisis in Barcelona, I moved 4 times into some pretty bad situations. I felt abandoned after that. The language barrier, lack of housing available, and my financial situation made it difficult to find anything. I felt like I was on my own, and that was hard. I wasn’t ready for these challenges, and I think that’s something future newcomers should be warned about especially in Barcelona. The locals can’t find housing, so expats can’t either unless youre living on a salary from a different country. Despite this, I think it was an invaluable opportunity, and I’m a better person for this.

Mixed Feelings

I have mixed feelings about my experience; overall it was good. Kim my program coordinator was very helpful and kind. Megan the director was also really awesome. I met some of my best friends through this program, but other than that, I could have done everything on my own and not paid thousands of dollars. Was a lot of money so I don't know if I'd recommend it for what it was worth.. but I am thankful to have met my closest friends. If you have the time and resources, go for it, I just think since the Spain program was new when I started, knowing what I know now, might have done things differently.

You are responsible for booking your visa appointment, but we will assist you throughout the process. Ensure you have all necessary documents, including a police certificate, medical certificate, and bank statements, before scheduling your appointment.

When should I book my flight?

It's best to book your flight early as flights tend to be cheaper the earlier you book. We recommend arriving on the Saturday or Sunday before your course starts, with accommodation arranged for the Sunday prior.
