Program Overview

This program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Zanzibar's vibrant cultural heritage while supporting local artists and sustainable community development. The Cultural Arts Centre Zanzibar (CACZ) empowers local artists, especially women and those from rural areas. It provides training and a platform to sell their environmentally sustainable products, generating crucial income and promoting responsible practices. CACZ also offers these unique, responsibly sourced souvenirs wholesale to hotels. You'll play a vital role in this program. Your contributions can include identifying innovative uses for sustainable materials, conducting market research, designing products and packaging, optimizing retail space, and creating promotional materials. You can also help local artists improve their English and internet skills, document their stories, and strengthen community partnerships. Additionally, you could organize workshops for locals and tourists, covering crafts such as bookbinding and jewelry-making, generating income for the center and providing educational opportunities. Anyone with the relevant interest can participate in this program.
