Beyond Nutrition: A Life-Changing Internship Experience With Valencia Turia Football Club
December 21, 2024by: Alexa Nelson - United StatesMy internship with Valencia Turia Football Club was a life-changing experience, both professionally and personally. As the primary nutrition resource for the team, I provided daily counseling sessions to eight players, helping optimize their performance, health, and recovery. All players varied in age and skill level, displaying unique goals and barriers to diet change. With this diversity it challenged me to work with different types of athletes and created individually tailored plans. This hands-on experience allowed me to apply my knowledge of sports nutrition in real-world scenarios, giving me invaluable insights into the dietary needs of semi-professional athletes. Thanks to World Endeavors, the entire process—from securing the internship to finding safe housing—was seamless, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easily I made new connections. Beyond the internship, I had the opportunity to travel throughout Spain, visiting 10 cities and towns and fully immersing myself in the culture. After the internship was complete, I spent three weeks solo traveling across Europe, further broadening my horizons by exploring new cultures, languages, and cuisines. This internship not only sharpened my skills as a nutritionist but also deepened my appreciation for cultures around the world. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience and excited to apply what I’ve learned in both my career and personal life.

My internship was amazing
December 19, 2022by: WelniaMy internship was amazing. It was the perfect placement for me, and I feel like it really advanced my professional abilities in the marketing world. It also made me a more well- rounded and independent person. My overall experience met and exceeded my expectations.
I’m grateful for the experience
December 15, 2022by: JenkinsWhether I fulfullled my academic, professional and personal goals is a yes and no. The goal I had to start was to be on a movie production set and network. Even though that didn’t happen, I’m grateful for the experience.
The overall idea of World Endeavors is great, it really is
December 08, 2022by: KolzowGoing into this program, I really wanted to expand my knowledge as well as just understand who I am as a person. This program gave me the ability to do that and so much more. The overall idea of World Endeavors is great, it really is. But I think for the price I paid, I could have found a very similar program on my own at half the price. The resources given were phenomenal. I would not refer simply because I know you could do it yourself for much cheaper.
Everything was amazing - thank you so much!
December 05, 2022by: DanielaI was able to see how a health care team works tigether, communicates and also apply my own OT skill set. The staff at my agency were very welcoming and nice and made sure I was able to incorporate my skills into practice.
Great program
December 01, 2022by: SantiagoThanks to the World Endeavors internship placenemt, I was able to submerge myself in the local language and put myself in a professional environment that challenges me in new ways throughout my placement.
Great working with World Endeavors
March 28, 2019by: Samantha GachThe World Endeavors staff made sure to answer any questions I had in a timely fashion. They checked in with me frequently to ensure I was enjoying my experience and to see if I needed anything from them. By the end of the internship in Spain I had earned the trust of the therapist and was able to work independently with some patients.Though I went not knowing anyone, I made friends quickly, who I have kept in touch with even after our programs ended. It was the best experience of my life.
Work, the World Cup, and a real Spanish Experience!
March 23, 2019by: Meredith ReiterMy internship in Spain is going well mainly due to the excellent coworkers. Watching Spain win the World Cup with my coworkers and attending the celebrations afterwards was very memorable. The language barrier was difficult for the first few days because, like most American students I have learned Latin American Spanish rather than the Spanish from Spain. However, we can now communicate in the office and out with both formal and colloquial conversations. I will continue to improve my Spanish and also learn about the culture outside of the region of Valencia by visiting other Spanish cities.
Interning in Spain
March 23, 2019by: Jared Hollidayso far things are good. I have done a lot of traveling and the culture is great. I think the language barrier was the hardest part but after the first week I got used to it.
Culinary internship in Spain
March 23, 2019by: Francisco Uristathe new culture has been my favorite so far. i am learning a lot and i like what i am doing at vuelve carolina. i would like to visit more of spain if i could. i already went to madrid for a weekend and that was a very good experience. also maybe i will be able to get some references from chefs here in valencia since a lot of them know and have worked with famous chefs back home in chicago.
Marketing internship in Spain
March 22, 2019by: Evelyn LopezI'm in charge of marketing and sales of our product in the US and has a lot of work on the computer. The activities the school holds are very fun
Exactly what I wanted
March 22, 2019by: Amy RaddingI love it. It is exactly what I wanted. I mostly make desserts at my restaurant, but I'm now learning the appetizer station, and I hope to move on to hot things before I leave.Last Saturday night at dinner service, it was my second night at the restaurant (I'd only been doing days), and I mostly got in the way but I helped a little, and I learned a lot, and my chef said I did a good job, and then I went out for (free) drinks with my coworkers.
Internship abroad program
December 11, 2018by: Mary Shaw - SpainMy program is going well. The internship really challenges me to use my Spanish, as the translation is very technical and no one I work with, besides another intern speaks English.
Intern abroad program
December 08, 2018by: Sarah Morris - SpainMy internship is going well. I wish that I was doing a little less Journalism and more Advertising, but that is something that I can speak with them about.
Absolutely loved the program!
November 16, 2018by: Annette MooneyMy semester went very well overall. Through my reflections I've noticed extreme progress in my Spanish language skills, as well as my interaction with the people as I strive to understand and appreciate their culture more and more. All the while I experienced a lot of personal growth, which I absolutely love!

November 08, 2018by: Tessie JohnsonBeautiful country. Great people willing to help. The staff of World Endeavors was so helpful and my host mom was wonderful. Learned so much. Helpful and supportive staff.
I'm getting better at understanding.
November 06, 2018by: Bryn Unger - SpainI have been traveling a lot and spending time in Seville which is fun. I'm getting better at understanding the weird Spanish accent here!
I enjoyed my time with the program
November 05, 2018by: Meghan CaracciolaI really enjoyed being immersed in the culture and making new friends. Not only did I work with Spanish people, but I worked with other international students as well so it was nice to learn about both the Spanish culture and other cultures as well.
Very organized, helpful, and friendly
November 03, 2018by: Bethany KozakIf I ever had a question, it was answered as soon as possible. I had an incredible experience abroad meeting new people, practicing Spanish, traveling to other cities/countries, and immersing myself in the various cultures. The internship was hands-on, which helped me learn much more in the time that I spent in the clinic. I wish I could have spent more time observing in the clinic, but would love to travel back to Europe and explore more someday!
Placement of my dreams
November 03, 2018by: Caroline ParasI was impressed that the staff was willing to take on an older, non-traditional student and help me secure the placement of my dreams. I was able to improve my ability to communicate in Spanish and apply these language skills in a meaningful way. The work itself was a great match for my skillset. There were a lot of hiccups that, over time, became easier to deal with because I was able to not let my disappointment overwhelm the situation.
I could not be more please
November 03, 2018by: Eduardo GarzaSo far, I could not be more pleased with how well my internship has benefited me. The work is long and at times very difficult but very rewarding.
