India: Dentistry Work Experience

Our Dentistry Internships Abroad program offers a unique opportunity to experience dental cases that may be very different from those in your home country. Volunteers on dentistry work placements can expect to take on a shadowing or assisting role, as regulations restrict independent patient care. When joining as a dental group, you may also have the opportunity to work alongside local dentists to conduct large-scale dental check-ups and run campaigns or workshops in schools to teach dental hygiene. Under the supervision of the dentist and staff, dental students will carry out various tasks to assist, such as assisting at the front desk, sanitizing dental instruments, and entering data during examinations. The dentist may assign you additional roles as you familiarize yourself with the office's daily routine, brushing and flossing methods, healthy food habits, and simple procedures such as fluoride varnish and sealant applications. You may also be allowed simple patient care, such as by assisting with suction and handling equipment. All our dentistry internships abroad give you a chance to learn from experts in the field.
