Medical, Nursing and Mental Health Placements in Cambodia

by: Volunteering Journeys

Add first reviewVerifiedSince 2013

Become involved with the functions of a medical institution catering to underserved communities in a developing country. Join our medical internship in Cambodia and get the chance to observe procedures in various departments. This program is based in a large state hospital, and your placement will be tailored to your education, interests, or level of experience. You will be assigned to a department that suits your preferences, though we cannot guarantee that all departments will have an available position for you at all times. You could work in psychiatry, general medicine, obstetrics, the ICU, and pulmonology, among others. You are requested to stay at least two weeks in each department, where you will shadow and observe specialist doctors. If you demonstrate enthusiasm and build a good relationship with the staff, you could be given more to do. The more you prove to be trustworthy, the more you will receive bigger responsibilities.
