Do I need previous volunteer experience?

No. Previous experience is not required for most of our volunteer opportunities. What matters most is that you are open-minded, responsible and willing to learn. We will help you find a project that matches your interests, skills and experience.

Will I be supported during my stay in Tanzania?

Yes. VTE is a small-scale organization, so you receive personal support before and during your stay. Our local team is there to help you settle in, understand your project and feel comfortable in Tanzania.

Can I travel around Tanzania during my program?

Absolutely! Your time in Tanzania is not only about volunteering. During your free time you can explore Arusha and the surrounding area, experience local culture, go on safari or travel to Zanzibar.

Can I choose how long I want to volunteer?

Yes, ofcourse! VTE offers flexible stays from short-term experiences to longer programs. Whether you want to volunteer for one week, spend several weeks in Tanzania or combine volunteering with an internship or gap year, we can help you find an option that fits your plans.

What if I have never been to Africa before?

That is completely okay! Many of our participants visit Tanzania for the first time. We will help you prepare before you leave and support you when you arrive, so you don't have to figure everything out on your own. VTE is there to help you feel comfortable, confident and at home while discovering a new culture.
